I really wasn't feeling like exercising today, but after dinner, I figured I would go down and at least start with the stationary bike for just a little bit. Once I got to the basement, I brought my nook, and decided oh well, I might as well just do 20 mins on the elliptical and read my nook and so I did and then when I was done with that, I hopped on the bike and did another 45 minutes and felt great. My headache is gone, I stretched muscles that needed to be stretched and I got my hour in! In other words, sometimes you just have to say- JUST DO IT. Start and see where it leads you. I am so glad I did!

It is another beautiful Sunday and it is so great to be alive, healthy enough to exercise and enjoy life.. Whenever I am having a bad day, I look around me and see people that are living their last days/weeks/months and would give anything to be able to walk again or to run and feel healthy. It certainly puts things in perspective for me.
I had to do a be fit test for the hospital that I work for and I got the results yesterday. My cholesterol is higher than I would like it, and since I have been exercising on a regular basis for 3 months before I got it checked, I have a feeling it was even higher before I made the decision to turn my life around and lose the extra weight that I had put on over the last couple of years. The other thing that really annoyed my was the my body fat percentage was 40% which is awfully high! It actually made me feel really bad for a few minutes, but then I thought, well, at least you are in the midst of doing something about it. When I told the person on the phone that was going over the results with me that I had joined sparkpeople and had lost 13 lbs so far, she was very enthusiastic about the website and logging food and working out as much as I do.
So, my goal was to continue to do what I have been doing and next year when I test, my body fat will be much lower. Thanks for all the support on this great website, I am so glad that I have found spark people and I will continue down this healthy path that this site leads us on.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend, and please be thankful for what you have and what you can do. There are so many people that will never have the opportunity to work out again and at least we can get up every morning and make the decision of whether we will or not.
