I think the hardest thing about watching your weight and watching everything you eat is trying to keep on track at social functions. My husband and I went to a wedding yesterday and at the reception, they had many appetizers and alcohol. I passed on the appetizers, I did have a couple glasses of white wine however, and then when the meal came, ate the salad, but passed on the bread, which I absolutely love. My husband had several of the appetizers and offered me some of his but I was able to skip them without really even wanting them. He told me I was really strong to pass these up but I said every time I want to eat more than I should, I think about how much work it took to wear the extra pounds off and I don't want to end up having to wear those pounds off again. It is definitely easier to eat at home because you can weigh your portions and make better choices...all in all, we had a great time at the wedding, and I saved room and calorie allowance for the dessert.

I have to say that I absolutely love Sparkpeople and the website that is available. It is a great place to find out a lot of great information, read blogs from people who are in the midst of losing weight, those that have lost weight and are now maintaining their weight loss and those that are just beginning. I absolutely love the recipe portion of this and have tried out several that I thought I would like and my family has discovered new ways to prepare food as well. This is a commitment that one must make to log meals truthfully, because in the end, you are only trying to fool yourself if you don't log the correct amounts of food. I have been on this for 5 weeks so far and already my clothes are fitting better and in addition, I am feeling much better since I started exercising on a regular basis again. I spread the spark everywhere I go and to all that I meet because I am a firm believer in this website! Thank you sparkpeople!

I was only going to do 30 mins on the elliptical but when 30 mins came, I talked myself into another 15 and when I completed that, I told myself I could do another 15 mins and I DID!! It feels so good stretching out after such a great workout! It is definitely true that the worst part is starting, once you start, you can talk yourself into anything and keep on pushing yourself!

After reading The Spark over the weekend, I came to work today and started encouraging many people that I work with to look into the website. There are many of us in this department that are struggling with weightloss and trying to change our lifestyle!
I think this is a great website and I will tell everyone to check it out and see if it works for them.
