My son

Thursday, April 17, 2014

I could use some prayers for strength in these trying times. On the 5th of April which was the anniversary of my oldest son's death, my 3rd son had brain surgery and they removed 2 cancerous lesions. I found out that he has lung cancer with metastasis to his brain and stomach. I was with him for a week after surgery to get him comfortable at a nursing home as he can't take care of himself and is going to be starting Radiation therapy. The doctors gave him 6 to 8 weeks to live without chemo and if he makes it through the radiation and decides to do chemo 6 to 8 months. And that is if he can even stand the chemo. But the doctors aren't giving us any hope. I will be visiting him every few weeks. Thank you everyone in advance for the prayers.

We should never outlive any of our children. I have a daughter with major medical issues, too, so I do have empathy with how difficult this is/will be for you.

Take strength wherever you can and relish every moment.

It has been a while since I have been on here for an time. Saw my Cardiologist and he was very pleased with all of my results. My weight is coming down as are all of my cholesterol numbers. I now have a new great grandson. His name is Juan Jose after his father's father. That gives me 8 grandchildren 6 granddaughters and 2 grandsons, and 8 great grandchildren 4 great grandsons and 4 great granddaughters.

I want to be as healthy as I can be to see them grow up and live great lives. And I know that with the changes I'm making I will.

Physical Therapy

Tuesday, October 22, 2013

Well I was doing so good and then I was in an accident on the 1st of October. I was taking my 3 year old granddaughter home from Pre-School and we were stopped behind a car that was turning at the bottom of our hill. When I was hit from behind and pushed into the car in front of me. My auto was able to be driven but when I took it to the auto repair shop they said if they would have found one more thing wrong they would have had to total it. (BIG BUMMER) My daughter took her daughter to the doctor that night and she is okay just sore from the seat belt in the car seat. I was not so lucky. My doctor did an x-ray and found no brakes so she did an MRI as I was in too much pain for there to be nothing wrong. The MRI showed a torn Lateral Meniscus and a torn ACL which the Ortho doctor said couldn't have been done in the accident. But that the pain was caused by reinjuring it. So I got a shot in the knee and I am now doing Physical Therapy three times a week. I am into the second week of therapy and it seems to be helping but I don't know how long I will be going. I am just glad that my granddaughter didn't get hurt as it is no fun. Now it is exercise, heat and ice every day. emoticon emoticon

New Goal

Monday, August 27, 2012

I have a new goal to happiness. Eat right, exercise at least 5 days a week and drink plenty of water. Since my little granddaughter is now two years old and I watch her every day i have to be as healthy as possible. This is the way I can help my daughter and son-in-law out. She is a joy as she is learning so much. She is at least a year beyond her age in doing things. She loves going to Story time at the Library, Romp and Roll and playing with other kids. I work with her on the alphabet, numbers and colors, she also loves doing sounds of animals. She is making me young.
I also need to get busy painting some pictures that I have drawn. I am setting up a website so that people can find my art, jewelry, and baby gifts that I make to sell. I will let everyone know when I have it up and running.

I have a 2 year old grandson, too (but I don't watch him daily). Still, I want to watch him grow, and those healthy goals are the key.

2012 A New Year

Sunday, February 26, 2012

So many things have happened since October of last year. I am praying that this year will be a much better year. I have been going through papers that should have been gone through a long time ago. I am so glad that I was downsizing as much as I did last year. I thank GOD for my youngest daughter and her family for supporting me in the things that I have to do now. Living with them gives me a chance to really get to know my grandchildren better. I am working with my 2 year old female (Terrier/Poodle/Pom/American Eskimo) she is 12 pounds and full of energy. I was not able to work with her to completely house break her which I am now. She loves the outside and is learning to ring a bell on the door to go outside. She has had 4 accidents in the house since the first of the year. Not good but not bad either. I have been reading and working on some of my drawings to get them ready to paint. I also have a stack of books to read now that I can make the time to do it.

I have started to lose weight again now that I have the time to do what I need to do to lose. I exercise daily in one form or another. I watch what I eat and drink. I take time to meditate daily and my prayer time is very important to me. I try to read and comment on things on Sparkpeople when I can but I know I should participate more in the groups. Which I will try to do this year.

I am glad to hear that things are working out for you and the you are focusing on what you need to do for yourself.

I love the part that you have trained your dog to ring a bell to go outside. That is so funny. What kind of painting do you do? I do a little bit of acrylic painting myself.
