Discouraged........Tuesday, March 31, 2009
Well I got back from vacation late Thursday night and have been sick ever since! I haven't been able to get back into my routine and i'm only a week away from my first goal deadline! Before I left on vacation I was only 2 pounds away from reaching my goal and then I gained 2 pounds on vacation so now I have 4 pounds to lose in 1 week! I'm so frustrated that i gained weight while i was gone bc the entire time we were there i did nothing but WALK for 8 or 9 hours a day! Most of the time i was pushing my double stroller with both of my 35 pound boys in it, UP and DOWN MOUNTAINS! My legs were killing me every day but i kept pushing myself bc i did not want to gain anything! Plus I did not snack at all (ok i had a rice krispie treat 1 night in the hotel room;) ) and I tried really hard to make healthy choices at meal times! I made it to the gym this morning and since my babysitter(my mom) is still on vacation this week i'm taking advantage and am squeezing in at least one more morning at the gym! I need to reach this goal or i'm afraid that i'll lose my motivation and quit! ![]()

Ok...vacation is over and now you're back! You'll get back into your routine and then you can take it one babystep at a time!! You're doing great on the water challenge at 230ville -- keep it up and that will be one great lifestyle change to make and make it a habit!! You can do this!! PL P.S. I see you're a fellow Hoosier!! Don't be discouraged!! Maybe you don't notice the difference but other people might and I'll bet the difference isn't just visual! I just got over a nasty 2 week flu and have been annoyed because I got off track tracking food and just generally felt like crap and didn't exercise. I'm back today after a complete week off and I'm just gonna get back to work here! I see you are too or you wouldn't have blogged today. The important thing is to just keep trying so don't get discouraged and I won't either It'll come if you keep trying and we're all here for you! Report Inappropriate Comment |

Don't be discourage it took me a good thirty pounds before I really saw a big difference and I would recommend NOT to try to lose four pounds in one week WOW! that is just to much too soon. You can lose the weight but first concentrate on making changes that are attainable aka...LIFESTYLE and everything else WILL fall into place. Like you I started off at the same weight more or less and I am now working on focusing on learning more about nutrition. I think of how I felt when I was my heaviest that was over fifty pounds ago and even though my weight loss has slowed down I am COMMITTED 100% to eating well and moving Remember losing weight is NOT just about wanting to look good but about being healthy and feeling your best that is absolutely PRICELESS, looking good is just an added bonus. My first small goal was to lose 25 pounds by my birthday which is April 4th and I've only got 2 pounds to lose to be able to reach that goal! Problem is i'm leaving for vacation today! Which yes is very exciting and i'm not worried about getting enough exercise as we'll be in the middle of the smoky mountains and I will be pushing a double stroller around most of the day, but i am worried about food! When i'm on vacation i like to go eat at places that i don't get a chance to eat at on a regular basis i.e. Hard Rock Cafe. So i have a mind set that I won't get a chance to eat this food again for a very long time and I tend to lose control and splurge on things that i normally wouldn't eat and things that are NOT healthy! We are already planning to eat at places like Hard Rock for lunch to save money, but i know that will also save me some calories as lunch meals often have smaller portions than the dinner options. I'm just so worried that i'm going to gain a few pounds while on vacation and then only have a week to lose those 2 last pounds and anything else i may gain while gone! Wish me luck!
