The White Dress

Tuesday, November 13, 2012

So last night I tried on my wedding dress :) And it fits wonderfully, nothing needs to be altered. And my head piece, veil, jewelry, and shoes, all look really great all together! Because my dress is a corset back I can loose 15 pounds and it'll still fit just fine.

I am still working towards all my fitness goals, but this time around is harder it feels like. It's not hard to eat in my range or to exercise at least 3-4 times a week, but rather I'm doing that and I'm getting little results. I've lost about an inch in my waist since a I started and less than an inch in my hips and thighs, but I've gained half in inch in my arm (I'm guessing that's from added muscle?). And I have better endurance, and stronger muscles. So I am making progress, just not as much as I had hoped by this point. All I can do is keep doing and trust that eventually the scale and measuring tape will follow.

As for the rest, patience, it will come. Our bodies are happy to shed fat when there's a lot of it to spare, then it gets harder the closer we get to goal. Don't give up, don't despair, just keep pushing!

You will see results. Remember the scale is not usually the best measure of success!!

    Congrats on the dress fitting!!

Change your workout a bit. Usually if you stall or you start to see less progress it is because your body has gotten used to the workout. Try something new!!

My November 30 Day Shred

Thursday, November 01, 2012

Today is November 1, Day One of my 30 Day Shred )made possible thanks to Jillian Michael's fitness video program of the same title).

My Game Plan:
During the next 30 days every day I will:

Do a level of Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred
I will sleep 8 hours every night
I will drink 10 8oz glasses of water
I will consume 1200-1500 calories with limited amounts of junk food

I will weigh myself every five days and record it on my personal check list at home
I will measure my waist, hips thighs, and arms every 10 days and record it on my personal check list at home.

My Goal is to loose 5-10lbs in the next 30 days.

At the end of November I plan on weighing in between 150-145lbs.

Motivation for Goals

Tuesday, October 30, 2012

Spark Coach Blog Challenge: Spend a few minutes writing about the reasons behind your fitness and weight-loss goals. What is your true motivation? What do you hope to achieve or experience after reaching your goal?

My most vain, and most motivating reason, is that I want to look and feel absolutely beautiful on my wedding day, not worried that any unwanted rolls or chubbiness shows in my pictures or to my guests. A longer term goal of mine, is that after I've become more fit, I want to be able to go running with my soon-to-be husband and, keep up with him, to help him stay in shape for his PT tests. I also just want to be healthy, and have the ability to be a good role model in every way I can be for any kids I may have in the future. After I achieve my goal, I want to maintain my level of fitness and health, and I hope to experience a better self-image of my body and increased confidence.

Top 3... Me???

Monday, October 29, 2012

So this morning when I woke up and was looking at my Spark page comments, I noticed I was being congratulated by some of my teammates for being in the Top 3 this past week in our competition. My first reaction: That can't be right, I mean, I lost last week, but I gained more than I lost when I was on vacation. Went to the board and checked, to see if there was some kind of mistake. I couldn't find one. Flabbergasted = me. I'm excited I did well last week, and It actually gave me the motivation I needed to that little extra UMPH! in my work out today, because honestly, seeing that was a great feeling and I'd LOVE to be in the top 3 again.

30 Day Shred...Day 3

Wednesday, October 24, 2012

So I decided to do the 30 Day Shred, a DVD workout program by Biggest Looser Coach, Jillian Michael's. I was going to wait to start it in Nov and make it my November 30 Day Shred, and use the rest of October to prep for it, so that way my muscles wouldn't be so sore after day 1 that I couldn't do it on day 2 and 3.

Well, I never expected that while prepping for the challenge I'd be able to do Level 1 two days in a row with out being very sore, so I decided that I could start the challenge now. Well, on what would have been day 3 of Level 1 I upped to Level 2. And I'm not sure going to the next level so quickly was wise. I'm pretty sure I'll be too sore do anything other than low intensity cardio tomorrow, and none of the 30 Day Shred video's can be called that, so I guess that means, this is still prep period, and I'll have to wait for November to really start my 30 Day Shred.

On the bright side, I know what to expect of Level 2 and I'll be able to better know when I am actually ready to Level up!
