Been home for a little while from hospital. Finally got on spark people changed my password and all that fun stuff. Lost a lot of weight being hurt. Couldn't drive for a long time. My nero dr finally said I could! Went the other day and got my license yay me. I do have to drive with supervision until I see dr again to see what he thinks. My hubby let me drive yesterday with him in car, I think I did pretty good! Well I hope all my friends on here are doing good I have missed being on here!

Week 11 Springing Challenge!

Sunday, May 05, 2013

For our week 11 challenge we had to take a color quiz. It turns out my color is royal blue. Blue means you are committed in the gym. It also said a few more things but I don't have a lot of time to get it all down. Blue means you like stuff like rowing (Never done it) yoga ( I do yoga 2 - 3 times a week) And interval training ( I do that at least 4 times a week. It was very interesting to know how your personality and fitness can fit together to make this change so much easier!

Blue is a good color on you. You are looking good. You have really turned a corner and commited yourself. I can remember you not wanting to strength train, taking a lot of time off and Yoga did not exist for you. But now you are getting it D-O-N-E. emoticon

Bon Appetite Benefit Dinner

Thursday, March 28, 2013

Many of you know I work for a company that supports and takes care of adults with disabilities. I enjoy my job very much, but sometimes it is frustrating. At our last Christmas Party I won tickets to attend a benefit Parc now Epic puts on every year. every Year they have a celebrity chef create a meal. They have had the singing chef and lots of others at this event. This year I was thrilled to win tickets! It was a Top Chef winner! My husband and I watch this show religiously. It was season 7 winner Kevin Sebraga!

It was an awesome experience and made me so proud to be a part of this awesome company. This is what we ate. I just have pictures, they did not provide a menu so I am not sure of all the food. will do my best to describe........
appetizer was watermelon, goat cheese and some type of spicy drizzle..... so yummy I had 2!

First course was a beet salad with kimchi an some type of creamy sauce. I had never had beets before. They were so good!

The next coarse was clam Chowder. This is what Chef Kevin demonstrated how he cooked it in Singapore on the show. he also talked about how hard the show was and he would probably never do it again but was glad for the experience. He said had he not won he might do it again. kevin talked about how they were secluded for 5 months without contact with loved ones and the show was extremely edited.

the main course was brisket with kimchi. The brisket was good, but to me the kimchi was overpowered with a vinegar sauce that I personally was not fond of.

This was dessert, which was prepared by some of Parc participants! It was so pretty I did not want to eat it! I did of course, and it was delicious!

There was also a silent auction going on during the meal to raise money for Parc. The pieces were created by Parc participants as well! here are some of the pieces.

I think the piano keys were my favorite! After the silent auction Chef kevin announced that he wanted to do more and offered his services of a dinner party for 10 prepared by him all expenses covered by him to the highest bidder. A lady at our table bid the highest at 8,000 dollars. She was thrilled and said she did it for her parents who would love it and are big fans of Top Chef. I wish i could have thrown my hat in the ring, but way to rich for my blood!

I have to say it was probably the fanciest dinner I have ever eaten or attended! This is what our table looked like before we sat down.

It was a most enjoyable evening for my husband and I! it was a long overdue date night for us! He also blogged about the evening and probably gave better descriptions of the food and also dedicated his blog to our son. Please go check out his blog as well! Midnighter1!

Shoveling games!

Wednesday, February 27, 2013

It was 6 am and I decided to get up and shovel today before I had to get Christopher ready for school. I had not been to the gym for a few days so I added some exercise and made a game of it. So as I got a shovel full of snow I would keep my body straight and twist as I threw the snow to get in some ab work. I did this alternating sides for about 5 minutes. Took a break and then would squat down and pick up the snow, stand up and shove the snow off of the shovel! I did that for a few minutes. I then would lunge up the driveway and back down and start the process all over again! I got over half my driveway shoveled in 35 minutes. I then quit to go and get my son ready for school. I was going to continue with the shoveling until finished, but it started snowing pretty heavily again. I did not finish the driveway today! I got in a good work out before i even went to Yoga! I also have to go to work at 2:30 today, I hope I don't get to tired at work!

Wow! Way to go! Shoveling is a tough workout by itself, but your game seems like it made it even harder and fun. Hope you get time to rest before work.
