I totally fell off the wagon over the holidays....I am picking myself up and moving forward...I think it was a mix of all the holiday treats and our crazy cold winters here in ND...I was doing well before the snow hit and then it all fell apart...but I am over the slump and moving on and will and CAN do this in 2009...I had a good 2008...I got married...stopped smoking and made new friends and support ppl I wouldn't trade for the world!! Now in 2009 I will lose this weight..Because I am DONE being the fat girl!!!

    Grab hold of my hand and we will climb back on that wagon together. I fell off too but I gave myself permission to do so. Now that the holidays are over it is back to work. We can do it together.

Congratulations on getting married.

Sorry about the ND part. I live in Missouri so we get cold and warm days. Yesterday was 68 degrees but today is 25.

Twinkies are only after one thing... and it's not your brain, it's your hips and thighs lol... so it's better not to surround yourself by them. I have not lost any weight in like over a month!!!! NO inches as well...I am so getting to that fk it point(sorry bout the lingo, but it is how I feel right now)...I am going to buy some new videos and see if I can get myself going.....I hate feeling like I am not going anywhere on my weight loss...I actually feel "fat" again...I haven't felt that way in a long time...bloated yes, but not FAT...it has not been a feeling I missed......grrrrrrrrrrrr

    Have you heard of Curves? I started last my on Nov 3, and I will find out on Dec 3 how much I have lost since I've been going. I really enjoy the workout and would recommend it anyone of the ladies in the group who has a Curves near them.

BUT whatever you do, DON'T GIVE UP!!! GOONIES NEVER SAY DIE. emoticon emoticon emoticon

    I have been at a PLATEAU just like you for over a month too.... but I am focusing on the fact I am maintaining and not gaining!
I figure patience will win out.... and I am better off keeping at this than going back to my old habits!

    This happens to all of us at one time or another. Sadly it will not be the last time either.

Go for a walk. Get moving. Dust the furniture or mop the floors. Just get moving.

Your body is trying to hold on to the weight and you just have to out wait it.

Are you up-to-date on your cardio minutes? You might not be eating enough.

You can do this!

    Try changing up your menus or like you mentioned, your videos. Just do your best & your body will catch up! Don't forget to drink your water. Hang in there!

    Hang tough....you are where I was for the past couple of months! Lost like gangbusters for quite awhile, only to slow to nothing even tho I was still eating right and doing the exercises. It's discouraging, but temporary.....I changed up my exercise routine a bit and it slowly started coming back off again. Sometimes you just kinda have to play around with the calories and the exercises, but don't give up....it's so totally not worth giving up the ground you've already gained! You can do it....and all of us have these spells as we go along!

    I know what you mean. I haven't lost weight either, but I know that I am building healthy habits. We get so focused on the scale that we forget about other positives. I bet you are sleeping better and have more energy than you had. I also bet your mood is better most of the time.

You can do this, I agree that you should mix things up and remember, Goonies NEVER say DIE

    Time to shake things up, girlfriend! The last time I hit a plateau it was because I was in a "rut", doing the same ol' workouts and eating the same ol' foods every day. I had to toss the whole thing in the air and start over.

I've backed away from the elliptical and the treadmill for a bit (no more than once a week), and picked up some Leslie Sansone walking DVDs, some Jillian Michaels stuff, and am learning spinning. Then I vowed to find some interesting alternatives to the foods we'd been eating. I cook all weekend so I can freeze some soups/chilis/stews against another day and have a serving for a hot lunch. It's working well so far.

So try that and see what happens! Good luck and we're all here for you.

  Ya know what?? I felt that way a while back too... and am now 50 lbs down. I can't imagine where I would be if I had given up. Maybe you need to shake up your routine a bit? Are you measuring your foods? Are you sticking to your calorie limits? If you need any help... PLEASE feel free to sparkmail me.

    Without knowing whiat your eating or your exercise pattern, it is difficult for me to offer help. I might try eating at the bottom of my calorie range for a week and seeing where that gets you.

I feel like I am stuck! I lose a pound or two then I get stuck for a few weigh ins...I hate it!!! I add more to my exercise program like speed walking and nothing!!! I know it will pass, but for today I hate mondays...that is my weigh in day.. emoticon

    Girl, I'm right where you are. I gained yesterday. You should see my chart, it looks like alligator teeth. We'll get over the hump. Too bad we don't have an overall measure of health... the scale is only one piece. We got this!

    I spent weeks (felt like years) stuck on a plateua. I finallly changed my exercise routine and cut 50 caloires/day for a week and I started to lose again. Look for other measures of success. Have you lost inches? Try measuring yourself.
