Navigating Your Ship and Staying on The Map!!

Monday, October 01, 2007

"A ship in the harbor is safe. But that's not what ships are built for." (compliments of Sparkpeople)

This quote means alot in such a few words. I'm sure many of us interpret it differently. But this says it all for me, but I will keep it very short and to the point.
I usually keep my ship where it is safe 90% of the time at the harbor. But to get to my destination that I want to get to I really need to Fuel that tank and leave the harbor behind and move towards the rainbow at the end. LOL
Love this quote and wanted to make sure some more people seen it, for anyone who missed it the other day I hope you can enjoy it and it mean something to you too as well!!!!

Hi Hearts, I can relate to the quote in several ways, Thanks so much for sharing it.
I hope you reach your rainbow.
I've reached a point where even the harbor doesn't feel safe to me. I know I am shortening my life if I stay where I'm at, so off I go for distant shores. I like the idea of traveling on this journey. Meeting people, like you, in different ports & out on the waters of life will definitely add to the trip for me.
Have an awesome week.

Wow... I definately relate to it. My weight has held me back from so many things that I wanted to do but didn't because I felt safer on the other side. I've missed out so much and wish that I had taken the risk & taken that step to a better stronger me. Although I can't go back and change things... I know it's better late than never. Right now it's not too late to start over and try again, I know that by reshaping my lifestyle I can become who I want to be... but I must learn that I have to pull up the anchor in out of the sea in order to sail this ocean and become free.

Thanks for the comment on my blog!!!
I know you can do this too, and you will.
xoxoxoxo :) Take care and Don't Quit... keep going no matter what!

What Did I Do Today To Work Towards My Purpose????

Thursday, September 13, 2007

Well this today is a very good question. The only thing I can think that I did do today to work towards my purpose is I did eat healthy. I had my proper amount of fruits/vegetables today. But other than that I can't think of much else that I've done today. It is TOM and I've been having really bad cramps so I've been drugging myself up the last couple of days with my feet up. Tomorrow will be a better day I know. It's always the first two days that are bad and then I can actually function like a normal person.
You know I'm reading as I type and it sounds like I'm making up excuses again to not workout and do what I need to do to get fit!! I shouldn't let anything get in my way. You know they always say work through the pain and sometimes working out can make your cycle a little better. For me it never has but for some it really can contribute and make a difference. The only person standing in my way now is ME!! I'm so good at helping others and dictating what they should do to make themselves feel better but I forget about me. Or I just can't do what I say. ACTIONS ALWAYS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS!!!
So my purpose today was to apparently blog and get that off my chest and reutterate to myself that I'm my worst enemy. NO EXCUSES FOR ANY OF US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Future Comes One Day At A Time!!!!

Sunday, September 09, 2007

Do your dreams seem far away? Does the distance between you and the finish line deflate your motivation? Often we forget that goals and dreams are not achieved overnight, but rather in a series of small steps. Progress towards your goals should also be counted as victorious! Stop looking at the end result to bring you the greatest joy. Instead, celebrate the ways in which your life is gravitating towards that desired result. Nothing is guaranteed in life, so make the most of each day and persevere. Remember that the small things in life build up to the bigger ones.

Compliments to Sparkpeople - Just wanted to make sure that I have this in my face everyday to remember and be patience. Success doesn't happen over night!!

What are you investing your time in?

Friday, September 07, 2007

Compliments of Sparkpeople:

Work is certainly important. Only those who are incredibly wealthy would tell you that money is of no importance. Without question, we need to work to provide for our families and ourselves. Most people don't stop to really embody the idea that work is not the most important thing, however. What is of more importance is family, friends, and investing your time in those relationships. Next time you find yourself toiling over your notes for an upcoming meeting, contemplate the message you are sending. Think about what is truly a necessity in your life and actively invest your time in those things.

Never Quit, Get Fit!! No Excuses!

Friday, September 07, 2007

My motto for September and the rest of the year is Never Quit, Get Fit! NO EXCUSES!! The only way we/I can get fit is to stop quitting and coming back. Taking to much time away from what is important to do other things. Important things in my life are my kids and feeling good like a kid! I've been on and off of Sparkpeople for over a year now. 6 months of which was unactivity and unfaithful. I don't want to be around unfaithful people so I'm going to start being more faithful to myself and I will feel better from the inside out and hopefully everything else will follow.

I'm great at helping people and giving advice but sometimes I'm to stubborn, lazy or just excuse filled to do it myself!!!
