I had a great weekend.

Wednesday, October 19, 2011

I had a great weekend in Jacksonville, visiting my daughter and her boyfriend.
Saw their new house.
Went to the Flea Market. No flea's there!!
Went to a lovely Farm Market and then went to The Kingsley Plantation.
(Sad story of Slave Labor and what it was like to deal with disease back then.)
The marsh mosquitos almost carried us away and We thought of what it must have been like to work 16 hour days picking Cotton and processing indigo with the mosquitos.
They also had no screens on their windows.
It was in a pretty setting lots of Live Oaks with Spanish Moss Hanging on them..
I wish I could live closer to her as I have no family here except the Out laws!!
She does have her own life now but it would be nice to go shopping........
Maybe in a few years once hubby retires....
I don't seem to have a problem finding work, wherever I go and I am nervously looking forward to my new job.
I hope we all get along and they are patient with me:):)

Spent the Day rewriting my resume.

Tuesday, September 27, 2011

Well I tried to rewrite it but I had so many great ideas about all of my great skills thats as far as I got...I think the way it looks a supervisory position might be the way to go.
We'll see. I also have thought about just being a homecare companion and doing home making. I like people but I'm use to helping them become functional and I'm not sure I could just sit with one person all day. I do need work as you just have to work in this day and age and at this rate I'll never be able to retire...But what, what, what?
I know "The answer is within you Grasshopper."

The Lady at the interview forgot about me for an hour in the Lobby.

Friday, September 23, 2011

Well, Of course there will be those moments during a job search that will "Pop your bubble!'
They left me waiting for one hour and then she said, The resume didn't look too good. Last two jobs were too short. But did she recognize that she was in the room with a highly skilled therapist no.
I think she was trying to make me feel inadequate so that I would allow them to contract me out. But I like to be free. Unless of course the person treats me with respect, recognizes my skills and treats me as such. Then it' not even all about the money. It's about me doing something I love and not getting hurt doing it...I love to help people and I 'm realizing that I may have to change my career to another less physical position. I have alot of transferable skills, so I'll keep that in mind and keep looking. :):)

Preparing for an interview.

Wednesday, September 21, 2011

I have found new hope when searching the web for positions.
There is really so much available out there, whether I choose to stay in my profession or not.
I have alot of transferrable skills.
I'm getting ready for an interview with a recruiter today.
Don't know if I want to be recruited. I don't really want to sign any contracts..
I am excited about feeling better and life has not come to a halt.
I only had a rest and time to rethink my life.
I'm still hanging onto the thought. "What will matter in 10 years."
I know that the motivation has to come from within.
A few employers have asked, "what do you want?" "when would you be willing to start work?"
I'm going to try to come up with some answers today.
