fibromyalgia Vegi soup loaded in anti-oxidents

Sunday, October 11, 2009

I am not a big soup eater, and if I choose soup it is usually cream base not broth based. In an attempt to get more vegi's in my day, i came across this recipe which i modified a bit, and O-M-G it's an explosion of flavor and the yummiest thing i have ever tasted!!

4 Cups Water
2 tsp sodium free granulated chicken bouillon
1/4 tsp Cayenne Pepper
1/2 tsp Ground Cumin
2 Tbsp sesame oil
1 Tbsp chopped Garlic
1/2Cup each: carrot, celery, chopped onion, green pepper, zucchini, spinach, cauliflower, broccoli (and it calls for beets i left out)
it also called for 1/2 cup fresh cut tomato's but instead I used:
1 Can Diced tomato's jalapeno blend

Cook covered on low 30-40 min or longer up to you. (it also says top with 1/2 cup chop scallion but i did not use them)

I used mostly frozen vegi's I had in freezer which i typical don't like because i find them rubbery, but in attempt to eat more and being single fresh goes bad quick, the Frozen works out great mixed into Foods/recipes rather than eating by themselfs.

Hope Everyone finds this as Yummy as I did! and you can eat endless bowls of it without worry about calories... unless of course you decided to bulk it up with noodles, rice, potatos, lentils, barley... any of those would work to bulk it up.

Sounds great Vickie! I was just thinking, I need to find some easy soup recipes...so thank you for reading my mind Ethel :).

Great idea too on the frozen veggies...even with a family, I do the same, because not everyone here eats veggies and I hate spending all that money just to throw them away.

Stay Motivated..

Tuesday, October 06, 2009

ok so those who know me, know i'm a bit of a nut, and i tend to like to take song lyrics and re-write the words.... So here are two for Motivation Enjoy!

motivation.....Sing to the tune of Fergie's Glamorous:

If you ain't got no motivation take yourself back for a workout

M-O-T-i-v-a-t-i-o-n (yeah)

[Chorus:]
We workin' first class up in the gym,
runnin treadmills livin' my life,
in the kick start,
I will change by the motivation,
oh work it work it.

[Verse 1:]
Wear them workout clothes,
all them things that mean a thing,
lifting weights and doing zumba,
working it for skinny things,
I be on the elliptical,
treadmills and weight machines,
I'm not lazy, I'm not gaining a thing, I'm motivated, I am a machine,
I still go walking,
jumping jacks too,
I don't care, I'm still kicking fat to the curb
no matter how many times the scale doesn't move,
after the inches progress is in sight,
I like to go burning calories til I throw,
drinking water and staying on plan. I am kicking fat to the curb

Sing to tune: the year without a Santa Claus,

Did you ever hear
of the No Excuse Year
Way back in Divatude land
When they took a No Excuse Year
Watching the weight disappear.

It was a year without Excuses
They stayed so ever true
It was a year without Excuses
The best they've ever had

No Excuses each and every day
Looking thinner and stronger
along the way, this is what they say
I could sure use no excuses
I will feel my very best
as I exercise day by day

It was a year without Excuses
They stayed so ever true
It was a year without Excuses
The best they've ever had

Orange - day dream blog where I will be a year from now

Saturday, October 03, 2009

a year from now I will be at my goal weight, i will be fit. I will be taking boxing, karate self defense classes. I may even go for Fitness trainer certificate (as a side hobby to help motivate others, holding weekend bootcamps), I may train to compete in something competitive.

BRAIN CHALLENGE - Daydreamin' blog. Today write a blog about where you think you'll be one year from now. Be sure to include any ideas about how much weight you'll have lost, what kind of physical condition you'll be in, what you may accomplish in this year (such as 5k or triathlon) and any other little goals you'd like to add. It doesn't all have to be about weight and health - include other goals too. One tip - don't make the goals TOO lofty or difficult so that if you don't end up accomplishing them all to a T you aren't disappointed. Let's be realistic - but it's still fun to daydream!

Great blog Vickie. Great goals and all doable.

I must think about this before I write min. I know where I will be weight wise but need to come up with some life goals for a year's time.
