Thoughtful Thursday

Good morning sparkers.
Took till nearly 4 am for me to actually have no pain and sleep well till about 7. I did sleep but was off and on, moving pillow, rolling over. I actually wasn't able to lay on my L side as it just hurt my hip too much. But today it is raining... so maybe some is from the weather change, still very humid though. Guess I am hoping that what massage thinks, is right as it makes a lot of sense ( the sciatic wet noodle analogy from other blog).
Have a fairly new spark friend Christinatobias and her blogs and another I read this am from Alexsgirl1 have prompted me back. I have not done well since the ice cream episode. The depression left that next am, but haven't been giving my all or even half.
Not a good thing so starting today I logged my food, and am going to look at this as a scientific experiment. I hated chemisty in school but excelled in biology, french and geography and english. Don't give me math or history or physics. EW. lol math made me fail grade 11, and chem almost didn't let me pass in grade 12.
So this body of mine.... going to continue with all the physio exercises. and the bike which is physio too, be more consistent in the wts. and chart my food and watch my carbs, fat, protein ect. but also see what helps and hinders.
Doing okay being off wheat for the most part, but sugar is still my nemisis. So today for breakfast have a greek yog. organic wheat free cereal, fresh straw and blue berries. All half cups. tad high in cals but works out okay.
Have been drinking my water and doing physio so that at least may have helped this weeks weighin.
thanks buddies for being there this past week. some wasn't pretty and lots was painful but all in all a good week. too much processed food and junky stuff. that is stopping and seeing how the pain levels go.

way to go, one day at a time, I am not doing well either at the moment, too much going on, it tn more pain, because low on homeopathics as I ordered double and they are not in yet, and I am almost out, keep positive and if you slip, count that as a victory as you know you have slipped, in the past it would have been normal and you would not have noticed, or even shrugged it off, but know you now when you slip, so one up for you
Can't wait to meeet up for coffee again soon

Good for you for getting back on track! I find it very useufl to track what I eat, I use a regular notebook and make a column for my feelings and thoughts and events too. I draw a little star for every time I exercise! Childish maybe but I enjoy it! Keeping record of my feelings and things like arguments and such helps me to see if there's a connection between my mood and my food!

OMG heart warming and sweet

THese will make you smile, laugh and perhaps a tear... precious

Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia once talked about a contest he was asked to judge.
The purpose of the contest was to find the most caring child.

The winner was:

1. A four-year-old child, whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman, who had recently lost his wife. Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman's' yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there.
When his mother asked him what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy just said, 'Nothing, I just helped him cry.'

2. Teacher Debbie Moon's first graders were discussing a picture of a family. One little boy in the picture had a different hair color than the other members. One of her students suggested that he was adopted. A little girl said, 'I know all about adoption, I was adopted..'
'What does it mean to be adopted?', asked another child. 'It means', said the girl, 'that you grew in your mommy's heart instead of her tummy!'

3. On my way home one day, I stopped to watch a Little League baseball game that was being played in a park near my home. As I sat down behind the bench on the first- base line, I asked one of the boys what the score was. 'We're behind 14 to nothing,' he answered
With a smile. 'Really,' I said. 'I have to say you don't look very discouraged.' 'Discouraged?', the boy asked with a puzzled look on his face... 'Why should we be discouraged? We haven't
been up to bat yet.'

4. Whenever I'm disappointed with my spot in life, I stop and think about little Jamie Scott.
Jamie was trying out for a part in the school play. His mother told me that he'd set his heart on being in it, though she feared he would not be chosen.. On the day the parts were awarded, I went with her to collect him after school. Jamie rushed up to her, eyes shining with pride and excitement.. 'Guess what, Mom,' he shouted, and then said those words that will remain a lesson to me....'I've been chosen to clap and cheer.'

5. An eye witness account from New York City , on a cold day in December, some years ago: A little boy, about 10-years-old, was standing before a shoe store on the roadway, barefooted, peering through the window, and shivering with cold. A lady approached the young boy and said, 'My, but you're in such deep thought staring in that window!'
'I was asking God to give me a pair of shoes, ‘was the boy's reply. The lady took him by the hand, went into the store, and asked the clerk to get half a dozen pairs of socks for the boy. She then asked if he could give her a basin of water and a towel. He quickly brought them to her. She took the little fellow to the back part of the store and, removing her gloves, knelt down, washed his little feet, and dried them with the towel. By this time, the clerk had returned with the socks.. Placing a pair upon the boy's feet, she purchased him a pair of shoes.. She tied up the remaining pairs of socks and gave them to him.. She patted him on the head and said, 'No doubt, you will be more comfortable now..' As she turned to go, the astonished kid caught her by the hand, and looking up into her face, with tears in his eyes, asked her.
'Are you God's wife?'

Pecious and so sweet. kids say the darndest things as Art Linketter used to say. Now my friend on SP said her 4year old said within hearing distance of a lady does she have a babyin her belly, friend and hubby proceeded to explain about not talking about bellies, then she say a man and dog said WOW is he ever fat. and MUM I mean the dog. lol

Went to physio and after reading massages note, she gave me a diff exercise. All was great till about 7 pm my leg started hurting, then 8 pm OMG my butt, my hip, a bit of my thigh, my calf front and back were so painful. My foot not too bad. So I went and did the stretches and it helped but not for long. so now my calf and foot are hurting, it is not pins and needles but feels pain, and sort of a zappy feeling. man i t is really hurting a lot. SOOOOOO did it help. I don't know I know it wont immediately but they keep saying we hope this works longer this time. Man the pain right now is really bad.
now going to take my pills and go to bed hoping that the pain will stop. I have been laying, sitting sitting upright nothing is stopping it. argh.
Okay hope you all had a great day.

Tues eve

Dil just put up some new pics so have to share...

they are so cute, and Eva is growing up so fast.

So my day.... well we went to motor vehicle and then hubby wanted to go out for breakfast. then home and then out to friends... by then my leg was achy but not terrible. I had to stand anad then walk but didn't relieve it.
Went to massage at 6:45 he said okay lets try this. worked on easing back and butt for few mins then behind knee calf and foot. OMG PAIN and then relief and awwww on my foot.
So he says...... sicatic nerve starts at lower back as about 5 nerves that go into 1 about the size of thumb. yea okay. he says it is like a oily noodle supposed to slide in the area and yours in getting impinged in certain areas. Hip, calf foot.... So he pressed on areas and OMG then other areas were okay. Some made my toes go to sleep right away some not at all. So then after figuring that he "massaged' lol pain the spots and then got my leg to go up more each time, then worked on my ankle which he moved in the strangest positions. he said he has nver felt a foot so tight in the top to the toes and I hve little movement. He asked did I find I have a diff gait on one side. Oh yes I will tyhink I am walking normal and bump into hubby. so we think he may have some of the issue. makes sense as to the sciatic nerve only hurting in certain areas. He left a note for physio so she can work on that and diff exercises. So lets hope this gives me some relieve. I am tired of the painOkay off to go read and rest what all massage pulled about.
Hope you all had a great day. I did. and glad I got some diff answers this time.

HUGS cya

sat. eve not so super

Sunday, July 01, 2012

I deleted everything I wrote cos it makes no diff. I am super depressed and not sure why, I just let my mood fester even though I said oh stop, I actually chose not to. I am totally B!TCHY and thats fine. I even just feel like saying f it all and leave for while. I am down really down don't gt this way often but when I do it isn't pretty. So will be back and don't worry all will be fine. SIGH. and hubby better stay out of my way. Had a rotten time at the bbq, almost drove off and left. Just not fit to be around.
cya probably tomorrow.

11 pm took 2 tylenol for headache, going to go to bed and read. DD came down for bit, we drove to see fireworks but didnt see much. someone around here was doign some which were just as good.
Mood not as down, just blah. Thats okay i will take that over that heavy depression any day. Felt like and acted like mum used to do, but way more often than I. Oh well tomorrow is a nother day and I will wake up without a headache and be in a better mood.
NIght all HUGS

I used to suffer from clinical depression, and just want to say that it can be treated successfully. Talk to your family doctor first, and ask for a referral to a psychiatrist. I was treated with cognitive behavioural therapy, and will probably be on medication for the rest of my life, but I am so, so much better. I'd been on anti-depressants different times before, but never had counselling, and it made all the difference.

Take care of yourself,
