I was going to turn off puter, then thought I don't think I blogged. LOL not that there was much going on today. Freeezing rain so didn't go out much. Hubby had dr apt, while out took dad his coffee and went to bank and library for him all in one go. Then went later and took him some supper, let dd dog out and then we stayed in. What a mess this weather is.

We are supposed to go to our old neighbours tomorrow for a visit, but depends if we get this noreaster they are perdicting.

He had his dr apt and he said that he sees no infection, hears nothing. so thinks part of it is his anxiety making it worse. When he thinks he can't breathe he gets more anxious. Wel yea, so suggested upping his clonazapan but hubby said no, cos messes with his sleeping. He goes to see the physc. in a week and will tell him what happened when we were away in Jan and how it has continued but not to that extent.

Neighbour is back, we haven't seen or heard from her, just hear her going in and out. Today hubby watched her for 20 mins backing her car in her driveway to be exact for some reason, we presumed her mum was coming and would need room to park in driveway, noone came, and then later neighbour was in and out about 3 x from 9 -10 pm when the roads are icey and a mess. WHATEVER. I am not doing anytthing cos don't want hubby getting upset. So won't be impressed if I see nutty guy around cos then it will start all over again. oh well.......

Okay off to bed, now that it is nearly 11:40! Night and hope that I don't wake tomorrow am, to people scraping ice. Told dad that if it was bad don't expect me any time before the ice is cleared or the snow is plowed. he just laughed.

    My neighbour stares me out, its really creepy, as I had a stalker, but he will just stand and stare, when he's home I keep all doors locked as he barged in one night, he was mad we took some trees down on our property.
One of the reasons we are selling!!!
Neighbours can be so difficult!!!

As a member of the Cats team 5% spring challenge I am to blog about my plans. LOL I am always blogging about my plans, life, anything. You are my buddies and I have to talk to someone LOL

So 5% challenge plans:
WALK at least 4 x wk. ( have rubber boots so now the rain won't stop me -floods out behind our place on the track)
Yoga at least 1x wk
DRINK my water DAILY - that is one I don't do often enough
Eat at least one salad a day, and keep at the smoothie/juicing routine
BELIEVE, BELIEVE, and BELIEVE more cos I can do this. I Know I can.....

a few others that aren't really in challenge is to use my sauna 2x wk and get over to play with grandkids at least 1 x wk preferably 2.

Okay short to the point cos my dog ( nope don't have a cat sorry! ) is wanting in. OMG the sun has come out!!!

Eat well today is my motto. salad and good foods with it. I did well yesterday and today am trying to figure out my carb ratio and also fibre and some of the others I track. I know fibre isn't a carb/protien/fat but often am low on it even when I do eat a lot of veggies. Going to try to amp it up.
I am going to let my oatmeal digest for a bit, yes I had my carb breakfast today. then will go in sauna for while and shower. I haven't anywhere to go or such today. I may go visit Thomas but was going to do that tomorrow. Anyway we will have something to do. I am also going to call dad, as he didn't leave me a message for his stuff so want to make sure he is okay and is going out.
Okay off to get in my sauna in bit.

Well let's see............ a busy day but a very unsettling day for me. I am struggling to eat healthy and get enough cals. in. I am not doubting that primal/paleo is good, but also think about vegetarian but know that I am never going to get that far. Recipes that others think is great I think EW I wouldn't want to eat that.... ( thats for you Jude! LOL) But doing the no grain thing has taken away my aches - still some pain but the arthriticy pain is gone.
I have to admit that to me you should eat healthy and a collection of all foods with colourful veggies then fruit and protein and nuts and carbs probably in that order. I also have to say it shouldn't be so hard and yet it is cos we make it that way. Proper portions too.
But, I am not eating the grains but find myself searching for food to just eat sometimes cos am hungry, sometimes bordom which won't change no matter what I eat. But it ends up being either nuts or fruit so fat and sugar........... if I ate a slice of healthy full grain bread and I said A SLICE not 3! would that fill me up. Will I be able to keep my carbs in check, will it make me ache, I just not sure.
I feel like going back to just eating healthy but know I didn't lose on that at all. I also want to eat healthy cos of my breast cancer scare and all my friends issues with cancer and my bowel habits of late make me wonder. Sometimes that bit too much medical knowledge can make you nuts.
wow long blog and nothing figured. I haven't eaten yet this am, cos not hungry and don't know what to have. sick and tired of bacon and eggs, or even just eggs. not craving cereal but........ anywayyyyyyyyy
sunny day, have some stuff to do for dad, write a notice of going month to month in his lease so he can give 1 month notice later, and also get him and us some groceries. Hubby has some odds and ends to do before tackling the renos and wants to get our taxes done today.

OKAY nothing solved but am getting hungry, it is after 11 am. oatmeal and fruit as per usual. Lunch omg eggs bacon.... I don't know! supper I am having the rest of the chilli hubby having left over pork. supper for next day is in oven now.
best go check it!!!


Editing to say... cats 5% challenge starts soon. Think I will make a super concentrated effort to do my nutrition in spark to watch portion amts, cals and just what amt of fat, protien and carbs I am taking in. So today weigh, and measure my portions.
Maybe it is as easy as healhty eating in proper portions LOL yea who knew it was just now to do it. as says
behavior follows belief and
100% compliance
whatever it takes- is what you do.

okay off to get something to eat, log it and get on with the day. SO much more in life that commiserating, and spending so much time trying to figure this out. EAT healthy and properly!!!NUFF SAID now to do it.

    Cindy I have been a vegetarian since I was 16, I have been aceliac for about 15 years, I feel if you balance what you are eating it will work, I am now using the sparks menu planner, I have to change just about everything, but it is making me accountable and portion control seems to be the way to go, the first 2 weeks I thought was impossible, but I am learning how to enter on the tracker and save to my favourites, so I am not hunting for the item I entered, it does take time,but I hope it will be worth it.
E-mail me with your weight, bmi if you know it and exercises worked, my friend can workout where your range should be, that may help, it has helped me!!

Sunday eve issues on primal/paleo

Hi all, getting late, was really tired earlier - have my 2nd wind now.
Was a good day, but getting frustrated cos want to change things, I should be a decorator or a dec. assistant. lol I started going through my cookbooks, and sheets of recipes. Got some done then wanted to watch a show. Did that and then got side tracked in thinking about stuff.
Me and my thinking! LOL
If I want to continue on this paleo, I have to incorperate more veggies again and less meat. I am having a hard time finding things to eat, and pretty sure my fat/protein/carb ratios are off. I just getting tired of eggs, and a fair bit of bacon. I have gotten back to my reg. veggies. Still doing a smoothie a day or every other day ( was daily and even juiced and got away from that) DD and son inlaw, finished their juice day 10 last eve. and he was wanting tomato soup so that was their first meal lol
Well I have to get myself organized as there are tons of recipes, info etc. for paleo or flexitarian. I will say with no grain I haven't had the aches in my knees or hips. Have had a bit of pain but not aching. I don't miss the bread and stuff as much as just not sure what else to have.
Okay off I go to my paleo/primal pages and read and also email my son. He was supposed to give me a formula to figure what my ratios should be.

    I'm interested in paleo and primal as well but Don't know if I agree with all of it. I feel better without the wheat though.

    You will find what works for you Cindy. This is not a diet I'm familiar with but I'm happy where I'm at and just keep it simple. I don't miss meat at all; but do eat fish, eggs, nuts, & various beans and lentils. I count calories as well as protein grams. Works for me.

    MYBULLDOGS meal looks yummy (might use frozen green beans instead-more fiber, less salt). I know that at least limiting to grains to 1 small portion br rice or sweet potato works for me too. (When I was losing the fastest, it was no bread or starch). Fruit seemed ok. 2-3 small. Loads of veggies. Not sure I could do the rutabaga cooked...

    Have you tried entering it into the nutrition tracker, i sent a copy to my doctor and he said it was spot on, just a thought

    E-book by Tom; title "Burn The Fat Feed the Muscle" is a great source. It gets involved but than staying healthy is a lot more complex. Hope this helps, Earl

find foods that work with YOUR body chemistry.

i make this mixture for breakfast , lunch and dinner. i have lost 36 pounds .

i cook 4 large portabella mushrooms sliced, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, 4 large onions sliced, 2 large green peppers, 3 cans green beans, 1 can rutabaga and 5 sliced chicken sausages. find foods that work with your chemistry. i created this meal on my own. i can't seem to loose weight if i eat any grain products. so one day i experimented.

it makes enough for at least 4 days, three meals a day. total cost is 12 dollars. i buy the mushrooms and chicken at sams club. sounds crazy but it taste good and most importantly it's working. i'm not hungry . if i feel the urge to cheat i go get a fork full of my mixture. i chew very slowly as to enjoy my meal.

i have added a small banana and grapes for my snacks and to be a fix for my sweet tooth.

you can add other foods into your menu. just know what works with your body chemistry.

I have gone from 198 to 162 pounds. i can now fit into a size 14 comfortably. i feel so much better. think of carrying a 2 year old around your waist every minute of every day. no i am not done. on the obese chart i have gone from being obese to just plain fat. my goal is to drop another 22 pounds. then i will be happy, healthy and never allow myself to get in this condition again.

one might say eating the same food every day would get boring. not true. when you look in the mirror and can see the difference it's worth

i went to the doctor. for the first time in a long time i was not ashamed to get on the scale. i did not have to get beet red because doctor said i was over weight. it felt GREAT.
