Fantastic Friday!!!

Good afternoon all! Usually it is early morning, but I got caught up doing emails then said Oh Yoga!!! I went to a new class for me, was taught by my back care yogi so was similar and good. Sure did give me a streeeetch in the inner thighs and hips I had to stop for some and just stretch easily. Got a good sweat for some of it as we were deep breathing and moving through aseries of poses. Was great. Had 2 stops on way home as returns had to be made.
We must remember we are babysitting Lisas dog as they went home to his home as there are a number of birthdays they are celebrating all this weekend. We will bring Nico here for some and home for some. I wonder what he will think being alone all eve. they will be back monday. He will be so happy to see them. Lisa was worried he may think they are giving him away but he knows us and will be for the most part in his house. lol
Tonight is legion night for dad and hubby, I may go. They are serving lasanga and I have enough cals to have it, and have had only cereal this am, and no carbs for lunch. Will decide when I get there but knowing I am able without going over is great. I have done well with food since I started my what can I do....
and so saying........

What can I do today to make my tomorrow a better day?
- walked dog 3x around track with a wind ( hurricane passing us by)
-went to yoga
- sitting taller when at puter and when walking ( when I remember which is more often!)
- drank my water
-eating healthier
-thinking positive
-walked with dh while we walked Dd dog. whew he is strong
- gave dad my garlic bread when out for supper ( had lasanga at the legion this eve)
- had an apple for snack
- did some slow breathing and stretches this eve when back tightened

Today at yoga she asked us to lay and think what is our greatest want for ourselves. I thought immediately health. and as I breathed I was able to see the healthy back and legs and the bad spine leave. I kept it up as we did our cool down and breathing. I am very surprised at how easily I am able to empty my mind, cos at home when I try to meditate I am not able. Guess it is cos I am in the mode, knowing to lay and be quiet.... whatever it is working.
My eye is a tad sore but not much red. I haven't taken the meds. but will watch it. I actually have been off all meds, except my vitamins and omega 3. I have had some series of twitching or whatevr in my leg but not much, Have had no need for nexium, ( wonder if that is realllllll cutting back on sugar - only thing I had was blueberry muffin and that had 1/2 in 9 so not much) I realize that the cereal even though healthy has it as does any ham slices I ate but I don't add sugar to stuff ever, and haven't had any sweets other than apple and blueberries. so pleased with that. I also went off my arrhtrotec to see, one day so far I have had to take it, but so far not bad, I presume it is a combo of less sugar, better eating and the yoga. whatevr again it is working. I am going to go back on the meds for my leg to see if it bothers my eye but ony up to 2. I will see how I do with the rest of my meds. I so want to be off the nexium.

    Cinders I love your positive outlook and how your list is growing daily.
I found always sitting on the swiss ball has made my spine straighter and core stronger,my shoulders are pinned back now.
SO pleased the yoga is helping, I use yoga stretches at night to lengthen my spine.

    I have to admit; I straightened up a little too Cindy! I keep a small pillow between my back and the chair at my computer and that helps me sit straighter. Have a wonderful weekend! Hugs.

Totally Terrific Tuesday

I went to bed last eve, and started re reading my Spark book. I also have been thinking on my ability to do whatI say. I hate that I will put it out there but yet not do it.
From today forward I am going to put in each blog ( or one a day if I do more), What will I do today to make my tomorrow better? I will then list at the end of the blog for the night or in am,if not able to get to puter what I did that day. I will start to notice that the small things I do will add up and do make a difference. I know it but to acknowledge it is a different story.
So that is a promise to me that I will do something everyday to make the next day better.
It is only 9 am right now. Fog horn is blowing this am. Fall is in the air. Dog and I enjoyed our walk around the track x2. Yes I actually started out a tad sore and limpy but got my knee worked out mostly by the end.
okay be back later!

What did I do today to make my tomorrow better?
- walked the dog around the track x2.
-ate within my cals. and all healthy
- got a back rub cos I am really aching today maybe weather is changing
- drank all my water and lots of green tea

    Great start Cinders, it is the small steps that lead to the greatest results.
It's all about building new healthy habit stage by stage and letting them become the norm. It takes time........every sparker, me included, has to learn that and it's so easy to knock ourselves for the slightest setback.
The trick is to forget the setback and get going again.

    This is a great idea. Don't be hard on yourself for not following through before - most of us here have to learn how to do that. If we all followed through consistently, we'd all be lean & fit. lol All that is important is that you are working to improve your consistency. 1 thing a day WILL add up. Next month, you'll be looking at doing 2 or 3 & it will snowball from there.

Well we are getting ready to pack up and go home a day earlier than planned. I have got to get to a dr and see about my eye. It is better than last night but still red and sore - woke to pain in eye and feels and looks as if there is a film over the red part that I could peel off. hubby says the eyeball looks swollen, so want to get it checked. I am not messing around with my eyes. Slept poorly and so did hubby.
Last night I was so sore, nervous about my eye I went to bed and started crying lol which hurt my eye stung and when I close it tight hurts. He came in and said what are you crying for... led to him laying down rubbing my back which is really sore again, and listening to me go on about how I can't lose wt, stick to anything ect. how my knee, back, hip, foot, now eye are a mess. I am just a mess, failure ect. he said let\s stop this now. I will help you again with weights, upper body so you don't hurt your back. learn so core stuff that we will do to stengthen your belly and back, and ride the bike when you can. STOP eating sugar as to me that is what is bothering you the most. you did gf for 2 months and neither of us saw a diff.
I needed him to listen and react without sarcasm, or malice ( not really the right word but the typical oh you never do what you say ect.) and he did.
So going home and get a dr apt doubt it will be at my clinic but there has to be a walk in somewhere that isn't full.
I am going to stop trying to do everything and do it all perfect. I am going to concentrate on trying hard to eat less processed and less sugar. Hubby is on board this time so that helps. I think his brother losing wt and training for 10 ks is giving hubby a bit of incentive although he would never say so. don't tell him to do something!! he gets really obstinent.
Okay off to pack up the trailer. cya later

    It's great that you have such a supportive husband--I only wish I did--LOL!! This Healthy Journey will always have its ups and downs but aim for the Ups whenever you can.. .Wishing you continued success. . .I am so glad you're having your eye checked out as that's nothing to fool around with. Take one day at a time and don't expect perfection. . .We're all human and learn through trial and error.

    First... A big emoticon to your husband for being so supportive and so concerned. He sounds a lot like mine, who has always loved me and treated me like a queen, no matter how fat or thin I was - or how OLD I'm getting - LOL!

Second... Glad to read that you're heading right to the doctor. Eye pain is nothing to ignore, even if you just had an eye exam. It's always better to be safe than sorry. Never put your health concerns last. Never!

Third... While it's great to have your hubby support you, YOU have to support YOU! As much as my husband set a fine example all the years I was fat, by eating sensibly, practicing portion control and never skipping a workout (we've been married thirty-four years), by suggesting I do the same, by cajoling, by scolding - NOTHING he did motivated me to make any changes until I was the one in charge of them. Use hubby's support and that of us here on SparkPeople to bolster your commitment but begin by believing in yourself and in knowing that, with every bit of effort you make, no matter how small, you are moving forward towards the successful achievement of your goals, no matter how long it takes to get there. Stick with it, be more stubborn than everything that threatens to derail you (the mind is a very powerful tool) and keep on going.

I believe in you and you can do it!

    I am so pleased to see hubby so supportive Cinders, and eating a balanced diet will help keep you healthy.
I totally understand your perfectionism, I am the same- was, it's touch to break the habit.
Really hope you get your poor eye sorted it sounds so painful.

    Hope your eye gets better. Kudos to your dh for supporting you. Curiosity what is gf? I know it will be hard but try not to buy packaged foods and stay to fresh or minimally processed as much as possible. The best advice I ever heard was shop the perimeter of the store and only go down aisles for specific items. The less processed food is the less likely it will contain chemicals that we do not need to ingest. You can do this. If you hurt go easy on exercise that will stress what hurts. For example my ankles were really unhappy with me when I was walking daily so I switched to stationary bike on days I went to the gym. I do not believe in enjoying pain. emoticon emoticon

    Aww, big hugs to hubby for being such a great husband. Sometimes you just need that extra bit of loving. I agree that your eyes are nothing to mess with & I'm glad that you're going back early so you can get to the clinic.

I've never tried going GF, so I have no opinion on that, but I DO notice a difference in my pain level when I reduce almost all processed sugars from my diet. A binge will have me begging hubby to cut off my hands (because the pain in them gets so bad) the next morning.

I'm happy that you're still working on releasing perfectionism. It's a tough mental habit to break, but it can be done! Just keep reminding yourself that any improvement to your health & quality of life is worth the effort.

Such a feeling rotten day

Woke up and felt the same as have been, aches pains and my eye hurt. Got up walked the dog, went back to bed and then got up later with dh. We took dog for walk, then I came on here for bit, then put the recliner outside and feel asleep in my jeans and hoodie. Came in went and layed on the bed and slept till 5. Still feeling tired but more so my eye is really hurting a lot. Got hubby to see if it was redder and he said no but your eyeball itself looks swollen. I have been thinking it was a bug bite as I have that one on my forehead, and one in my eyebrow, but they are nearly gone and this is getting worse. So checked my daily notes and my eye started hurting 10 days ago 6 days after taking the new meds, 2 days after going to 2 pills from one. I have since gone to 3. So googled and yes this can cause a type of eye pressure that would be similar to glaucoma but isnt glaucoma. I just was at the eye dr and all is fine so know iut is the pills or bite. I am going to only take 2 today, as they are usually prescribed as an anti depressant, but also for nerve pain, you can't just go down on them. So 2 today, 2 tomorrow and we may go home tomorrow afternoon instsead of tues am. That way I will get to a duty dr sooner if need be.
So we have had supper, taken dog for another walk and cos there are way too many mosquitos out we are in the trailer. It isn't as cold as yesterday but I just don't feel well and don't want more bugs. There are allready a few mosq. in here with us. LOL sure they will find me.
I will be going to bed shortly and it is only 7:50 but am so sleepy. When I was on the lyrica the same thing happened. I was sleeping all day but nothign happened to my eye, although they did get bug eyed and hubby said I looked strange. So I have never had a reaction to meds, but thinkign that whatever he gives me for this nerve pain, is giving me grief.
Today my R knee is locking up, it isn't as sore as the past 2 days but sure hurts when it locks. My hip area is sore and my eye. I am so sick and tired of hurting.
I figured that today I would just never mind my knee and for thet most part I did as i slept lol
Oh well it will all get figured out but want off this med too. If I didn't know myself better, I would blame my downer on it. but I get up and down easily just not like bi polar symptoms.
So a good cup of tea, and knitting or reading or maybe just BE without using my eyes....

    Hope you are feeling better today! I am glad you thought to look up the side effects of that medication. Hopefully the duty doctor can find something that is better for you to take. ((hugs))

I couldn't think of a catchy title. LOL I suppose fantastic friday, yea it was a good day, not great, I haven't gotten all my water in yet, over in cals, but did go to legion with dad and hubby. Wasn't going to till ds said he was meeting us there. We so rarely see him I said well I am going too. Had a good visit with him and a nice time. We are going over there for bit tomorrow, I can visit with Thomas, hubby is putting taps on for them, then we are going to go to the harvest festival and then pack up for trailer. We will go sat. afternoon then back by tues afternoon. Next week we won't be going much as taking care of dd dog, dr apt, and yoga.
Well tomorrow will be a great day, I kind of wanted to stay in town for the fireworks, but as hubby said trailer time is winding down cos of the weather and next week is a bust so let's go. I will enjoy the trailer more than 15 mins of fireworks.
Going to the farmers market tomorrow am, and will bring good stuff to the trailer. Small fridge so only fits so much but we have the market just down the road from trailer. no problem.
Well off for now, going to go read and hopefully fall asleep! hugs
