Squeezing it in!

Wednesday, March 27, 2013

So I've been exercising (cardio) in the morning before work at o'dark thirty (which I despise) for the last three weeks. What I've been having trouble with is squeezing my ST into my day, so today while at work, I'm setting a timer and each hour I will do 10 wall push ups. That should amount to quite a few by the end of my 10 hour work day!

Just thought I'd share...

Underlying Motivation

Wednesday, March 20, 2013

Today's SparkCoach session suggested I do some thinking on what my underlying motivation is for losing weight and living a healthier lifestyle...then blog about here I am!

Let's face it...most of us want to lose weight and live a healthier lifestyle for vanity reasons... We all want to look thinner and more fit and trim...right? I do, too....a lot!! But after giving it some deeper thought, this is a list of my underlying motivation:

1. I want to go skiing with my family next winter without feeling like I'm going to collapse!

2. I want to go through every day of my life with less pain from pain would be better, but I'll be happy and grateful for less pain.

3. I want to feel less fatigued every minute of every day.

4. I want to be excited to get out and do something that requires energy, rather than "treating" myself to a day on the couch..."relaxing"...or some such thing!

5. I want to feel less like a big fat cow next to my very thin husband! Yeah, that's a vanity thing, but it's still important to me.

Now I know what is really motivating me and I'm working towards it!

Spark on!!

I didn't say I WAS a big fat cow...I said I FELT like one next to my skinny hubs!! Remember you said your former doctor told you to get down to 175 or something like that...and you're 6' 1"? Well my hubs is 6' 1" and he weighs somewhere in the 170s...he's one of those who eats everything in sight and never gains an ounce... Color me IRRITATED!! :-)

Motivation is a pain to come by sometimes. Last week I had zero, zip, zilch, nada. It takes some reflection.... oh your bro telling you he is coming down there to whoop your butt for calling yourself a big fat cow!!! emoticon Love ya Lynn!!

Tuesday, January 08, 2013

Just a quick blog before I start my work day. I just took a peek at my previous blogs and I seem to have this pattern of starting January every year. How cliche, yet so many of us do it, which is certainly not the healthiest way to live one's life. I get so frustrated trying to figure out why is it so difficult for me to maintain the progress I make throughout an entire year...and beyond...

I just entered my weight and measurements into SP for the first time since July of 2012 and what I found that I've done to my body is so not good. I've gained 13 pounds and put 10.75 inches back on to myself (a combination of chest, waist, belly, hips, thighs and upper arms), and I can only say that I am disgusted with myself. No, I'm not kicking myself in the back side or beating myself up emotionally, but my lame....

Now I know what my starting numbers are.... Here I go..... Go me!

A New Start. Again.

Monday, January 03, 2011

So, I haven't blogged, I see, since January 2, 2009....long time, no blog, right? Well, I've blown all of my progress and I'm starting over...slowly and easing back in... So on cue with easing in, I'll keep this blog very short and just say this:

Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, any one can start now and make a brand new ending.

Meekly Blogging

Friday, January 02, 2009

Wow, it's been awhile since I blogged, and when I did it was right after I'd completed Bootcamp and I was in the best physical shape of my life. Now? Not so much. I just updated my SparkPage and have copied and pasted here, what I posted there....

OK, so, I won't even go into all the reasons why 2008 totally sucked, but I will say that I'm stoked it's over and 2009 has begun! I will say, however, that one of the greatest highlights of my year was when June (GrumpyGrams from IL), Steph (Steph2003 from TN), and Donna (ThinMom5 from AZ), all came out to So Cal and spent a few days staying with me! Man, did we have fun, and not much of was Sparkified, lemme just say!! And, yep, that's the 4 of us in the picture having dinner at Duke's in Huntington Beach, California... Left to right is Donna, Steph, June and Me!

Overall, it's been a tough year for me, which has resulted in me putting 16.2 pounds back on this little body of mine, and my laziness has also left me very flabby and out of shape. I'm pretty unhappy about the downward spiral that I let my health take, and I'm ready to bring healthy back!!!

And, may I just say (and it's my blog, so I CAN just say), GO MIAMI DOLPHINS!! My Boys were 1-15 last year, but this year they had one of the greatest comeback years in NFL history and went 11-5...AND we are in the playoffs, Baby!!!

Miami Dolphins ~ 2008 AFC East Division Champions!!!!!! Mmm hmm.... You read that correctly....that was NO typo, thankyouverymuch!!!

Lynn so glad you're back. I haven't been here much at all myself lately, and I'm STILL moping about not being able to make it out there with the rest of them.

Hopefully in 2009, life can get back to normal for all of us.

Hi Lynn~glad to see you make it through! Things got tough for me on 09/11-08~my only son that was in the Army was kia in afghanistan. My heart is broken and I know that i have to carry on~my son (PFC Michael W. Murdock) would want me to. It is so hard to get motivated; sometimes in the past few months i'd log in to see what was going on ~ checked on you as well~seen if you had been on. Exercise would probably be the best thing for me mentally (besides praying to God ALL THE TIME) i've gotten down to116 lbs since he died; but i am not healthy and it is hard to want to be right now.
I am glad to see you back on~you are so upbeat and such a motivator and i love that about you. And i am wishing you a great 2009:-) emoticon

I kinda look like I just smoked some wacky weed...LOL We did have a fantastic time, and it was definitely a highlight of 2008. I know your year was probably the worst you've ever endured, but 2009 WILL BE BETTER. Remember we're always here for ya! emoticon
