Back together with my friend, P90X

Saturday, January 29, 2011

Did Kenpo X before breakfast this morning. It wasn't pretty, but I did my best and forgot the rest. It's a beautiful winter day and I'll definitely do something fun outdoors this afternoon. A good, good day shaping up : )

Turns out today has to be a rest day. Worked today, after waking up with a headache that felt like it could become a migraine (something I very, very rarely experience any more). By the time I got home from work, even though it was a great day as a substitute teacher, I just couldn't Bring It. Tomorrow morning, bright and early, I'll do my best and forget the rest.

Yes, yes, yes! We're back together again. Did Cardio X yesterday and Legs and Back today. In about 8 days I'll hit Day 30, time to take progress pictures and measurements. I'm really looking forward to being able to record noticeable changes.

Heading home tonight, the trip will take 16 hours. Will *really* make the effort to pick up P90X on Wednesday morning. Did a lot of walking while away from home this time, but also did a lot of sitting in the arena watching the skating events. Overall, a good experience. Canada will be sending a very strong contingent from these National Championships to the Worlds in Tokyo in March. If you watch Figure Skating (my wife watches it fanatically, so I get a lot of spill-over excitement . . .) be sure to watch Patrick Chan. He did two quad jumps in his long program here. He skates powerfully and elegantly at all times, he's not just a jumper.

Gotta leave P90X on the shelf till next Tuesday or Wednesday when we'll be home from our trip to watch the Canadian Figureskating Championships in Victoria BC. My wife is a major figureskating fan and I didn't want her to have to travel and attend alone. I'm actually looking forward to some of the events--those skaters are amazingly athletic--strong, fit and flexible. I should be so healthy!!!!!!

Saw some grrrrreat figure skating. Saw some so-so skating too, and ugh! those arena seats can be uncomfortable after a while. Got in lots of walking to and from the arena so even though I missed P90X I wasn't completely sedentary. Have to admit I did not eat SparkPeople-like : (

So I guess you won't be huddling until next week. I'm envious of your watching the figure skating. I'm a huge fan, too. :)
