Tuesday, Day 36

Tuesday, March 24, 2009

I seem to have gotten behind here. I got back home Sun. afternoon and picked up the puppy a couple hours later. Her name is Dani and she only cried about 5 min. the first night. Talk about lucky! She must have known spring break was over and I had to go back to work the next day. Sweet girl! She was up a couple times last night but not for long. She's doing pretty well. Older dogs are still adjusting!
I'm learning my new strength training routine this week so it takes a little longer. I had a great cardio session yesterday with walking and running intervals. I did my first ST session today and burned quite a few calories. It's designed to burn the fat off my lower half. Just some slight changes in nutrition so that isn't a big deal.
Scott and I are going to look at another house; hopefully tomorrow. We both talked to our kids and they are both on board with us moving in together. They are both 14, mine a son, his a daughter. We'll see what happens!
Have to get food packed for tomorrow and get up early for another cardio session (if the pup sleeps tonight)!

Wow....well there's a lot happening in your life at the moment isn't there?
Good for you and Scott..it's better that you try than regretting later that you didn't. i admire you as its 5 years since my wife left and I haven't had the courage to date never mind move in with someone but the kids keep me going anyway. Every happiness to you both and the kids, oh and the dogs as well...lol.

Way to go girl

Wow! Sat., Day 33

Saturday, March 21, 2009

I was pleasantly surprised this morning when I stepped on the scale. After all sorts of unexpected things happening yesterday, including my cheat meal I still lost. I reached my goal for the week of being at 138! I also lost 1.25 in. overall, although most of that was on the top half instead of the bottom! So unfair! emoticon I just got back from a sunny, but cool walk on the trail for 60 min. Now I need to hit the shower and pack. My bf is teaching a class a couple hours away and I'm meeting him later today. He left at 5:00 to be there by 7:00 and since I can't check in to the motel until 3:00 there was no reason for me to go that early. This is our spring break vacation, ha ha! We decided to get our new puppy Tues. night, but I'm thinking I'll pick her up tomorrow and surprise him when he gets here since I'll get back first. emoticon Hopefully I'll be able to get wireless when I'm gone and can check in with my sparkers!

Friday, Day 32

Saturday, March 21, 2009

Well, today turned out quite a bit different than I had planned. I finished cleaning up my kitchen and was dressed to head outside for some steady state cardio. My bf and I have talked some about living together "some day". We haven't made any definite plans. There is this really nice house in town and he decides he wants to go see it. We called the realtor and we ended up fitting it in between his appts. and ours for the day. I had to fly through the shower and be there in an hour. Then I ended up going into work for a few hours because we start back to school Monday. After that we looked at a bunch of houses on line and may go look at a few later this week. Of course, all the while, I'm wondering how this seemed to come out of the blue. We are trying to decide whether to look where I live or look where he lives, which is where we both work. My son will be a freshman next year and I won't move him out of his school. It kind of makes sense to live where we both work, but we would have to get him to school for little over a year until he could drive himself. Lots to think about and absorb.
Then we ended up going out to eat dinner with my older son and his gf. I ended up eating my cheat meal tonight which blows my weigh in for tomorrow. I probably would have been down slightly, but when I weighed this morning I had stayed the same as last week. Oh well... Then we got a call that we can pick up our puppy tomorrow, but we're going to be out of town tomorrow night so we will get her Sun. or Tues. night. emoticon So many things to consider, but all of them wonderful! (Except the part about me not losing this week)! emoticon

Wow, interesting day, huh? One cheat meal shouldn't really make much of a differece ... remember it takes 3500 calories to make a pound. There was a time that I could of ate over 3500 calories in one meal though, I'm pretty sure of that. Ok, to be honest I probably still could if I went to Burger King. lol You've got a lot of good things going on in your life, thats a good thing. Take care girl.

Life happens when you're in 'it' - nice to see you are enjoying it! I'm finding it interesting that I'm ok with not having everything happen all at once ... seeing the 2 steps forward & 1 back though still means the direction is focused. Mostly, what I'm finding is that good stress is still stress but I'm really enjoying the journey, too! Have a great weekend!

Thursday, Day 31

Thursday, March 19, 2009

Nothing spectacular to report today. I just finished a tough upper body workout. I need to run some errands now. I spent the morning doing a spring clean of my upstairs. Still more to do, but it may not all be finished before spring break is over. I need to do my taxes, but am having some problems with my personal computer. Don't want to do them on my work computer, of course. I'm cutting back a little on my cardio. I've really been pushing it and my trainer thinks I may be doing too much for the amount of calories she has me on. She is working on a new training/nutrition plan for me and I'll know more by the weekend. Going to hang out with some girlfriends tonight for a while. I'll be drinking my water while they indulge in beer. emoticon They are both tiny and never exercise and somehow manage to stay that way. They have been supportive of my not drinking when I'm with them. They understand that I'm trying to reach a certain goal. Great to have supportive friends.
I heard a great quote on a podcast today by Craig Ballantyne, "Fat loss is easy once you realize how hard it is".

I never did drink much. Well as a teen I got in my fair share of trouble but I got married and then pregnant young and just never was more than a social drinker after that. I have one or two when I feel like having them. No one questions why I haven't been having a drink because they're use to me not having them most the time anyways. Only one of my friends knows that I am seriously trying to lose weight. Shes great about it. Sounds like you are getting quite a few things crossed off that list. Good job!!! Hopefully your trainer will get everything figured out for you. Take care.

A little more about Tues.

Thursday, March 19, 2009

Some of you may have read this on one of my teams so sorry for the repeat and I'm posting this late.
My bf and I decided to go out for a short while last night to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. We ended up in the small bar where I live. If you don't like people who are vain (I'll admit to being one) stop reading now! The first person I see is my ex-bf's wife (we are friendly, long story) who comes up and asks "what are you doing, just shriveling away"? I said I work out a lot and have been on this great website and have a trainer. She asks me who and I say she's an on-line trainer. She then asks me how I stay motivated when Karen isn't right here pushing me. Blah, blah and she leaves by telling me how great I look. Did I mention that she is not yet 30 yrs. old and I just turned 50! (Yes, he dated women from every age group as you can tell)!
Later, I see my old neighbor who used to live next door. She comes up and tells me how great I look and asks what I've been doing. She's always been thin and has worked out so this was a nice compliment. She told me several times, "wow, you look great". Made my day! And PS, I didn't drink beer either. emoticon
Today's workout was lower body ST and 90 min. of yardwork, with my son helping again!
