I am exactly 4.6 lbs away from my goal. I truly believe now that I will get there.

How do I feel? Healthy, slim, fit, wonderful!

Please, everyone, stick with it. It takes time but slowly, slowly wins the race.



Turning all the corners

I seem to have turned another corner. Most of the time I am totally upbeat about my continuing journey towards good health. I love exercising, eating healthily and doing everything I can to maintain my optimum health.

At other times the going is tougher. I have to force myself to exercise, writing down everything I eat is a huge chore and the word nutrition has an ominous ring - I just want to eat food!

I have just finished two weeks holiday and my birthday was in that time period and at the end of two weeks I seriously thought about quitting. I was not looking forward to my weigh in at Weight Watchers and I seriously wondered whether I wanted to continue. But having come so far I decided to keep going. I think it was that positive decision to keep going that helped me round this corner.

Perhaps we tend to think of the road to health as a straight path - but I know now there are many corners in the path and I have to be able to turn them.

I went to my weigh-in and I had only gained one pound. So I'm totally back to loving exercise and now I'm off to yoga.

Almost there

At first, I lost weight steadily and then, amazingly, I was 10 pounds from my goal weight.

And then it happened. Is it a plateau? Is it losing motivation? Have a reached my set weight.

I'm really not sure but last week I dug my heels in. I weighed and measured every morsel I put in my mouth. I got back into my walk-run routine. I practiced yoga regularly. I did my ab workout every day. I wrote everything down.

And . . .

I lost 2.1 lbs! So I am doing the same thing this week and hopefully be down to my goal weight very soon.


The summer is here

Victoria Day weekend is traditionally the beginning of summer and I certainly feel like summer is here. We were at the cottage for two days and took the "party barge" on its maiden voyage. What fun. Cruising around the lake enjoying the sun and the splash. The water was too cold to swim but it will be fabulous to drop anchor and dive off the barge. How fabulous it will be.

Then home and gardening today. I love gardening but it was awfully hot so we could not do too much but it's beginning to come together. I love summer (although I love spring more).



Missing my partner!

I have been looking forward to this weekend. My partner is away for five days and I can do exactly what I want. Would I go to a movie? Go for long walks? Play my piano for hours? Perhaps I would try new recipes; make bread; shop!

What I hadn't taken into account is how much I miss my partner. Usually we spend all weekend together. It's our time to refresh and renew our relationship. Our time to shop together; try a new recipe together or spend time around the house.

I am going to go for a long walk and eat completely healthily. But it's not a "high time" without her. I can't wait until she gets back.

Be careful of what you wish for, you may get it!
