I'm using Elizabeth's idea of posting the whole challenge, that way I can refer to it the whole weekend. Thank you Elizabeth, I love the idea.
TRACK EVERYTHING- Every bite, lick, taste goes into your tracker either on spark or wherever you count calories. 5 points/day
ENCOURAGE YOUR TEAMMATES- Stop by a teammates page, give a teammate a goodie, post on your team thread, comment on a teammates blog. Each one is worth 1 point and you can do any combination you choose! - 5 points max/day
AIM FOR THE STARS- For every 10 minutes of cardio give yourself a point. 6 max/day
MENTAL RECOUP- Don't dwell on "failures" They are golden opportunities for growth! At the end of the day, write down what you feel you didn't do so well with and how you're going to deal with it better next time. Moving on! 5 points/day
Challenge runs from Jan 21-24. Total points possible per day 21, total possible for weekend 84.

I have a vision of where I want to be and it really includes health as well as body shape and weight. I am striving for 2 hours of exercise a day which includes my running. I registered for a February race to keep me motivated and I finally, finally, cleaned my kitchen and pantry of anything processed. Believe me, that was a big accomplishment for me. I really have a better attitude this year than I did even when I first started Spark. I have been watching motivational movies about runners that have overcome great obstacles in their lives and reading Runner's World as well as Women First. Last year, I just played at the game and my weight went up and down ending on a high for the year. Something changed this year and made me want to do better. I don't really know exactly what it was, but I feel different about really wanting to change. Maybe it was introducing butterflies into my life. Since I have been raising them, I have felt so calm. I really love watching the caterpillars mature and eventually emerge from their chrysalises as beautiful butterflies. Maybe it was just because we went through a cold spell where I felt so lazy and now the sun is shining, I don't know. Maybe it is just the effect of the high energy "green drink" I make every morning from green leafy vegetables. Of coarse, having this wonderful place to write my thoughts and get support from my friends helps me keep that attitude going. Whatever it is, I like the new attitude and I am going to make the most of it. Welcome to the new year - The year our goals are met!

First of all, it was Friday through Monday, so I was already on a roll before my actual weekend started. Since it included staying within your calorie range, I really made what food I put into my mouth count. I logged every day and used the Fitness counter to track my exercise. This four days was really one of the best spurts of doing things correctly I have ever had. Maybe because it was a challenge, maybe because it is a new year, maybe it was because I had gained weight over the holidays and felt discusted with myself, maybe because it was just time for a change, I don't know, but these last four days just gave me a jump start to get myself on track. FYI, I gave myself another A for today because I got a friend out of her house and on her feet. We did 4.4 miles. I am going to just pretend that the challenge is still going and see if that motivates me to stay in my calorie range and keep the exercise going. Thanks BLC-15 for having this challenge.

For Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, the BLC-15 challenge was NEW
N - Nutrition -stay within your calorie range. My range is 1200-1550 and here is what I have done so far; Friday was 1209 and Saturday was 1242. I am logging my food every day and making sure I eat the minimum calories required. Last year I ate way under and I guess my body was storing up for a winter day because I gained weight (I know, hard to believe)
E - Exercise at least 20 minutes per day So far I am doing very well; 124 minutes for Saturday and 90 minutes today
W - What areas need work (or something like that) We are also supposed to blog or journal either private or public, then grade ourselves and try to do better each day
I gave myself an A for Friday because I stayed in my calorie range, exercised a lot and experimented with some new low calorie recipes. My problem has always been being consistent and I am really working on that because it is usually, go way overboard one day and do little or nothing the next day.
I can see right now, since I started with an A, it is going to be hard to be better than that, but I gave myself a B+ for today. I stayed within my calorie range, but I didn't exercise as much. I did get a pat on the back for not drinking beer and eating hot dogs while watching football.
5 Points are awarded for each category so my tally looks like this:
F (15/15) S (15/15) I am off to a great start, I just need to continue along those lines for two more days.
This was a great challenge for me because my weekends are usually when I start to crumble. But, its a new year and I am determined! Victory is MINE!
