I saw this on another team as a challenge and I thought OMG... that is way toooooo many digits. Huh??? So, being a person that hates exercise but wants to challenge myself to something I will be slappin' on the pedometer daily for a continuous count per week. I will hopefully remember to post my accomplishments and let you all know how it's going....
Anyone want to join in..... have at it...!!!!!
It's actually a no brainer and may push me into walking just a little bit more every day.

  I've worn a pedometer for years and love to challenge myself with it but I've never thought to 'walk to a million' ... sounds great!
I wonder how long it will take me ... I've been tracking my steps since the first of the month so maybe I'll make it an extra summer challenge - June 1st through September 1st will give me a 3 month timeframe :)
Thank you for posting this blog ... gives me a little extra motivation to get those steps in!

emoticon Helloooooo......... Decided to report every few days, since life gets in the way sometimes..

1. WORKOUTS:
4/13 treadmill for 19.5 min, walked .75 mi. and burned 108 cal
4/14 mall walking (1 time around) apprx. 15 min. and I think it's about half a mi.
4/15 BFF walk outside for 16 min., 3/4 mi. and burned 81 cal.

Bad: ate too much and some bad foods all three days...???

Good: kept walking everyday... still doin it and proud!!

Weight: 4/13 at 196.5 4/14 at 196 4/15 at 195.7

Well.... let's see what type of wisdom I can share today???????????

Oh... I know! Recently, I had my annual blood work done, and I specifically asked for a testing of my Vit. D. Come to find out, as suspected I was only at 13%, so almost none. I'm now taking mega doses once a week, which should be necessary for about 3 mo., in order to get it where it should be. Vit. D is a very very important vitamin !!! GET YOUR VITAMIN D LEVEL CHECKED TODAY! It's a simple blood test... emoticon

    My sister, who lives in Chicago, just had hers checked -- it was at 8%! She's planning to relocate here to SW Florida next year but in the meantime she's on the megadoses too.

emoticon Sorry I missed a day... but I'm back now.. emoticon

4/11... all I have to report is I weighed in at 195.1- I did not walk!! weight 195.1

4/12 walked with my BFF around her neighborhood. It was a beautiful day..... so we did 18.5 min., burned 101 calories and walked .88 mi. and I weighed in at 196.

Bad: should have eaten less..didn't keep track of my calories, so I'm sure I went over my calories or the McD's caught up with me.... hmmmmmmmmmmmmm?????

Good: Went to the 99 cent store and got a bunch of good deals, fruits, vegs, etc!!

Weight : 196

Little something for today as a reminder... As you noticed I goofed up on 4/11. I pretty much did nothing. But that didn't stop me from jumpin' on the wagon again the next day and hit it hard with my BFF. She tries to walk 4 mi. 5 days a week, so she is my inspiration! We need people like that to keep us going. Find yourself a good friend that you can share the "good", "bad" and the "ugly" with and that love you no matter what! I'm blessed to have her as a friend!

    I think it's great that you're journaling. You'll be able to look back and see where you've been successful. I realize that you are doing this to make yourself accountable, as well, but if I weighed myself everyday I'd go crazy! I also try not to label things good and bad--it puts me in a really negative mindset. I'm working at being healthy and maintaining a positive attitude. Maybe this is just the thing for you though. We all have to do what works for us, so if this works for you then just keep going! Good for you!

emoticon YES.... I'm back! Here's my report for yesterday 4/10/13 emoticon

1. My workout was another good one... I did 10 min at 2.5 mph, burned 56 calories and walked .4 miles emoticon

2. the bad thing was because I didn't eat much and having a stressful and busy day with the grandkids, on the way home at 7PM I stopped at McDonalds and had a Mcdouble with a large fry...yikes!!

3. the good thing was I got to spend the day with my grandkids and ran all day except when they both took a 2 hr. nap from 12-2. Poppi was no help at all so it was me running all day 9-4 with a 3 and 1 year old. They are my loves!!

4. weight wise... needless to say was 195.1, so I lost 1/2 lb. from yesterday!! thank you gks!!

5. great snack for the day: cutup all kinds of fruits ahead of time. Spoon a serving in a bowl with 1-2 tbs of any flavor Greek ff yogurt ... mix well and have yourself a great meal, snack or dessert with it!!

Hope you are all doing well cuz I'm feeling pretty good today and want to share it!
