What's with Hallelul

Saturday, April 06, 2013

Hi to whoever reads this. emoticon emoticon
Just thought I'd do a quick update. It's been a process but I'm glad to say that I am working on regaining my motivation to get in the calorie burning.

This time I won't be trying alone. My job has an all staff walking program that started last week and at first I was going to be a chicken because I thought I've been trying and failing and trying and failing but a motivational walk in the beautiful brisk weather revamped my desire to join in and be accountable especially to those who know my story and literally saw my first journey unfold before their eyes.

I also have a personal goal of no couch potato time unless I've had (Walk Away The Pounds) WATP time.

So with those two goals I look forward to keeping you posted on my progress.

God Bless You!

Roofing Help??

Monday, September 03, 2012

Has anyone experience roofing/leak issues and filing claims? Just curious of what should I expect. Does one typically pay upfront and wait for the insurance to reimburse them? Anything I should ask up front?

What Was I Thinking?!

Sunday, August 26, 2012

Ugh. Yes I know not the best way to start a blog but I did something not 'right bright' as my grandmother used to say. So I have this desire for bologna (I know yhew), but when I was younger we used to fry it and it was so good. I get to the store and I see that bologna is on sale for $1. So I grab it without even looking at the packaging except to check the expiration date. What is so bad is my other foods I took time check the nutritional facts. I even compared items and put stuff back. So why on earth did I buy something soley on price?

I fixed two slices of the junk today. Yes you read right...junk. I couldn't even eat it all because it was way too salty and tasted just bad. So I'm entering food on the tracker and finally I check the back and one 1 lousy slice it's jam packed with 540 mg of sodium!

If anything this was a reminder lesson to read packaging for all. I'm glad I only paid $1 because I will not be eating anymore of this stuff. I wouldn't even feel right giving it away. If I ever have a bologna crave I'm just going to have to say leave what is in the past in the past.

Well...thanks for reading and hope you join me in reading ALL the labels.

You probably didn't look at the nutrition because you already knew it wasn't the healthiest thing in the store, but you wanted it, right. It happens sometimes. Sometimes we just want what we want, regardless of the nutritional facts. I've done it. I still do it. But WTG on throwing the rest of it out! You had your fix and now you're done! Good job.

BTW: There are RESTAURANTS--yes Restaurants--that serve bologna!!! I saw them on the Travel Channel.... fine dining establishments. LOL To each his own, right? LOL

Yammy Day

Sunday, August 05, 2012

Yesterday I was blessed by the Lord to come up with a smoothie recipe that I must say I enjoyed!!

I'd imagine a similar recipe has been published somewhere but this is my version.
Yam - 56 grams (yes I still keep the food scale going)
Banana - Medium
1 Cup milk
Hand bunch of lettuce (I used leftovers from a spring mix)
Honey (to taste for sweetness)
Cinnamon (otherwise it may taste bland) - Nutmeg would probably work good too.

Mix in food processor or blender and enjoy!

Because I'm a texture eater I had to strain the smoothie but don't worry those nutrients won't go to waste. I plan to incorporate the un-strained portion into a waffle batter for some Yammy Banana waffles tomorrow morning. emoticon

Then for dinner (I'm glad I allotted room) my mom share some homemade sweet potato soufle' (sp?) I plan to have it with some chicken and mac n' cheese.

That's my yammy story. Thanks for reading.

I have not went that far as to throw every thing together, perhaps I ought to try this!!! I am not adventurous when it comes to food. One of the sparkies said frozen spinach with an orange is real good , have you tried that one?
Have a Yammy day I am off to work soon

The ingredients actually sound pretty yummy. I'm going to share this post with myself in an email so I don't forget to give it a try later.
