Trying yet again

Wednesday, June 08, 2011

Well, I'm trying again... Trying to quit smoking again, too, which I gotta say is not helping. Was sooooo hungry yesterday and had the munchies all day. Was pretty good about resisting but it wasn't until last night that I realized that I wasn't really hungry after all but suffering from cigarette cravings. Eh, oh well. Had an extra Fiber One bar during the afternoon and then I think I had something last night but I don't remember what. Huh.

Tired all the time now. Sleeping horribly according to my husband (and how tired I am each day). Stressed and cranky and really really frustrated and depressed. Don't know how much more I can take but can't seem to break out of the rut I'm in. Kids and Husband and Work and now I'm looking at having to get a second job to cover the bills... Why can't I be one of those people who lose weight when stressed?

Having a hard time getting back on track

Monday, October 19, 2009

So I'm not sick anymore and my back seems to be healed, but I'm having trouble getting back into the good habits. Trying to remember to go back to eating healthy and working out. Though I'm still a little scared to work out full throttle. I really don't want to hurt my back again.

How about doing back strengthening exercises (like the physical therapy ones...you can find them online) to get you back in the workout mode? I injured mine pretty bad a few times and it seems the better shape I'm in, the stronger my back is and the less pain I have. So that is what motivates me to keep exercising. Good luck! You can do it!!

Figures

So I got through one fantastic week of my workout routine. Was feeling really good and energized and excited. Then I managed to seriously inflame my sacro-illiac joints and get swine flu. So I've been flat on my back for the last week and a half. I'm "better" now but still restricted to no lifting and only 20 minutes of cycling 2-3 times per week. I'm so frustrated :(

Yeah, I came down with it, and because of my RA I got bronchitis right along with it... grrr.

But then, at least you know you won't likely catch flu again soon!

Wow, you poor thing! Listen to your body because you don't want to overdo it and have a relapse or something. Take care and do lots of lower body exercises.

Harumph

So I knew better that to listen to my sister when she gushed about how much weight I was going to lose in the very first week. I've been busting my ass for almost a week now and I've *maybe lost 2 lbs. I knew better than to get my hopes up, but it happened anyway. I'm sore as hell and I've probably sweated gallons, I'm eating fine, though I'm having trouble getting enough calories and carbs in. I keep barely making the low end of the range for those. More fruits and veggies I guess. But it's always frustrating to not see a difference.

Sister dearest

I'm trying really hard to be supportive, but my sister just sent pics of her little red bikini that she just bought. It's just... She's got the great-paying job, the supportive husband (not that mine isn't, but hers will actually eat healthy with her), the big house, the new car, and now the killer body. And I know that she worked hard for it and if I lived where she lived and had no kids I would also be making a lot more money and be able to afford the nice house, etc... It's just really hard not to be jealous of her because it always comes so easily for her. She's always been the pampered baby of the family and her whole life has been one good thing after another.

Yes, I know the feeling. However took a look around and find the positive things. There are many people who love to be in your position. Are you in good health? You have a supportive husband (your words). So, you're not alone wishing for love and companionship. You have a roof over your head. I can't tell for sure, but it sounds like you have kids. If you do, I'm sure they love you very much.

Now writing all of that, I'll just write that it's okay to be jealous for a moment. It's natural. Take stock of all the good things, and just know your life for all of its imperfections is envied by someone else. I have to remind myself of this all of the time. Soon it will be easier and you won't envy her any more.

Hope your day gets better. emoticon
