When does the AHA moment happen

So I exercise and eat healthy, I really do mean healthy. We went to the fair and I didn't have any fired dough, or any other gross fair food. I even passed up on a caramel apple with coconut! I had 3 french fries and a pinch of cotton candy. I exercised that day and walked ALL over the fair. I am waiting for the AHA moment to come when the scale will start to move down and my clothes in my closet will fit. I cant figure out what is wrong and why the scale doesn't move and my clothes dont fit.

As I mentioned in my status, I am stressing because my kids have a ton of homework. Book reports, tests, spelling words, worksheets and its driving me crazy. I cant keep track and neither can my kids. I am doing laundry to try to keep my self occupied so I don't graze the cabinets. Working with this conscious task is hard to do. I just want to give in to my subconscious and let me mindlessness take over. I already did my exercise for the day and trying to get any more me time in is flat out impossible. I may be able to walk down to dance with my daughter, I'll see how the weather holds out.

Making a healthy change one day at a time...

My friend asked me to write a quick article on eating healthy. Now mind you I am not a dietician nor a nutritionist. I am self learned and take everything with a grain of salt. (I do have a minor in nutrition, but that was 20 years ago!) SO I wrote a quick blurb on making a change in the bread that people eat. I just wrote about how making that one change will be better for your family in the long run. I suggested that people switch over to Ezekiel bread that is made with all whole grains that are not processed. I also reminded people to read the labels to see what the bread they ate was made of. Making a change one week at a time or one month at a time is like jumping off the diving board for the first time for some. Taking on the task to change your life for the better by being apart of any community wether it be WW, MyFitnessPal, or SPARKPEOPLE is a step in the healthy direction.

  


Finding the right Doctor...

I finally got tired of traditional doctors who where not listening to my symptoms. I went to a specialist who has a background in the medical field, acupuncture, and homeopathy. I have had issues with constipation my whole life, and have had the issue of never feeling truly hungry. (there are other symptoms as well) When I met with him yesterday, he asked me a lot of question. My gallbladder isn't working well and a surgery I had when I was an infant may be causing nerve interference with my stomach. I have some tests and some remedies to take, but I gelt great taht someone actually listened to me. Dont stop at what the doctor says: YOur thyroid is fine, or get lipo suction to make your self happy

    Having a doctor that listens and thinks outside the box is critical to good health. My doctor and chiropractor are married and own their own practice, with a holistic method of caring for their patients without constantly reaching for a prescription pad.

    Although I'm a SP newbie I've found the community very supportive and encouraging. There is lots of information on here on so many topics including motivation, recipes, snacking. The fitness and nutrition trackers are great tools to keep you on track.
