This is a journey so I thought I would start posting lessons learned and tips to try/ think about.
Ripple effect / Lateral moves – it is not the ultimate goal but the steps in the path to reaching it.
Example – Goal give up soda. Lateral move Regular soda drinker turns into a diet soda drinker. Lateral again (heading in the right direction) -Diet soda is cut back to 1 a day replaced by water, tea or seltzer. Lateral again (heading in the right direction) – Diet soda on occasion, mostly drink 0PP+ value water, tea or seltzer. Goal – Soda not a very appealing option.
There is value in the process and we are stronger for the small changes we make. So, if you want to see how this would not work tell a regular soda drinker they can only have 0PP+ value water, tea or seltzer. Same with crash diets you can only for so long before you throw in the towel.
As for me I slip back and forth between 1 day and the on occasion step. I am still learning and can and will make progress where I can.
Remember it is about progress not perfection.
