Cookies Cookies and Donuts

Monday, April 21, 2008

So some evil person brought in cookies and someone else donuts...don't they know I am on a diet?!?! Well I had 1 cookie and that was it and it was worth it lol. I am learning that I have to splurge occasionally so I don't get burnt out.

I ended my day working out. I ran 2 miles and walked another. It is so much harder to run after work. I really need to get up early and go to the gym. Hubby ordered 30 day shred for me. It is only 20 minutes so I think I am going to try doing that 3 times a week early at home. Break into it slowly!

Well, if you ran 2 miles after work, I wouldn't fret about that evil person who brought in the cookies...of which you only ate ONE!

Great will power! Hope it's a good day for you!

Whacky Weather

Sunday, April 20, 2008

So last weekend we had 80 degree weather. I actually got sun burnt even though I wore sun screen. Have to check and make sure it is still good! So this morning the dogs got me up at 730am...ugh...I get up to let them out and make coffee. I walk over to the patio door and to my utter amazement I see freakin snow...that is right snow! It was laying on the grass, house tops and fences but not on the road. It melted a few hours later but how crazy is that in the Rogue Valley where we hardly ever get snow.

So this morning, while having coffee, I got on here and started surfing. Someone posted a great couch to 5k iPod program. Pretty cool! I am going to start half way through since I already am up to running a 1.5-2.5 miles. I also think I am going to enter a local race in the end of May. I know I could run a 5k by then...I may not come in first, actually I will probaby come in last but I think I am going to do it. I am trying to talk hubby into it. I don't think he will do it but he will at least be there to support me! The race is called Tough As Nails lol...that so sounds like me.

I went to the gym and did the elliptical for 50 minutes, a cross country course. I was disappointed because I loaded a few workout music podcasts but when I got they I couldn't find them. I am going to have to have my resident computer geek take a look at it.

I did some ab work but it seems like no matter how much work I do I never feel it the next day. Weird.

HA - we had snow too but we never had the 80 degree weather (wench!). Talk about rude! I am going to have to check out the ipod program - still working on music list for working out...hehe.

I found out this week why I have the pain in my shoulder and don't sleep. I have a tear in my Labrum or Labral. One of those in my shoulder. I accidentally told a few people that I had a tear in my Labia. emoticon
This means surgery with 6 week in a shoulder immobilizer and then 8 weeks of restricted mobility after that. I was in total shock because I don't know what I am going to do with myself out of work for 6 weeks.

I won't go in til june so I want to be down to 160 by then. That is about 13 pounds. I think I can do that. I also am glad I am going to Hawaii this month. One last Hurrah for awhile.

I also have another personal goal. I want to be consistently running 3 miles 3 times a week by then. I am up to 2.5 running right now but in order to do that I need to be fully rested. I may try to start going to the gym in the morning...haha...I have been say that for months.

Mini Goals to be accomplished by June surgery.

160lbs
Running 9 miles per week

WHY???

Thursday, March 06, 2008

So another week and I am down another 2 ounces. Am I eating too much? Too little? Not working out hard enough? Eating the wrong foods? So Many variables and no way to know for sure. Why does this have to be so hard?

I have not lost an ounce in over two weeks, but actually put on a couple of pounds since weight training. It is sooooo frustrating when the numbers on the scales aren't budging. I've been quite a crabby gal as a result. But the tape measure is showing an improvement when I measure every other week.

I notice it's been about 5 weeks since you posted this blog-- how's it going now?

Don't give up! You've got to be more patient than your body... but if you're doing all the right things (and it appears that you are) it WILL change. Check out URBANMOMMY's SparkPage: tip #8 (the first #8 :-) ... she says that not much happened for the first 2-3 MONTHS! BUt once it started, it happened fast and dramatically. Keep strong sister!

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

I hate social security. It brings all kinds out of the wood work to cash their checks...I mean who doesn't do direct deposit these days? People still believe it is safer to have their checks mailed then having it directly deposited for them. Anyway I digress.

I am SOOOO tired. I want to sleep for a week but no I wake up with shoulder pain in the early morning. It has been almost a month since I have slept through the night. How is it that an annoying nagging achy pain can drive you to the point of wanting to claw your eyes out trying to get it to stop.

I skipped the gym today. I am so tired I am afraid I am going to run myself down and get sick. So far I haven't been sick or had to call out of work since Nov when I had a bladder infection. Pretty nice considering this time last year I had used almost half of the sick time.

I feel really guilty for not working out. I have the TOM munchies too. I keep telling myself I will make up for it tomorrow but I still feel so disappointed in myself.

Well I think I am going to go watch tv in beach and try to sleep.

Night.
