Mistakes to learn from...

I have a confession to make, I fell off track...Or I just got cocky. You see, I wasn't really dieting, I was just implementing a few good habits and so lost a good chunk of weight...35lbs (almost half of the total weight I wanted to lose) and so got an ego! I didn't think I needed sparkpeople anymore, and so like an idiot stopped logging in or caring......and TA guessed it...

I GAINED PART OF IT BACK...mind you it was only 14lbs (in about 5 months) but still, hard truth was the habits don't just stick. You need to keep a conscious effort to keep going, to keep pushing and loosing. So here I am, head down, and willing to work at it again. I am so grateful that spark doesn't gloat in my misery and just is willing to help me out when the chips are down.

So, in conclusion:-
What I learned and how will I fix it?
Stay consistent, and sign in everyday...If I can't then at least 2 or 3 times a week! Sparkpeople is a website that should be regularly visited and their advice followed!!

    I agree about Spark People. It's important for me to log in every day if possible, and I have so far in the first three weeks. It keeps me grounded and on track. There is a great deal of our own power in play, but it helps to have someplace to go that provides support in many different ways.

Today, I weighed myself to find that I had finally passed my 10lbs weight loss mark! Horrayyy!! Break out the dance moves and all!!

I was so happy and elated, I can't even begin to describe it. Then going on my reports page and checking my progress..I figure out that am still 2 lbs behind my goal line, plus it literally took me 3 months, THREE MONTHS, just to lose these effin 10lbs.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm ecstatic about this 10lbs loss, but I am so angry about the time its taking to get to it. And just for the record, I would probably gain all that if I pigged out for 2 weeks. So am feeling really down about this.

Kinda of a bittersweet loss for me..I just can't help it.. (I am also PMSing, so that might be part of irrational let down)

    10lbs in 3 months, i think that still great! That's about 3lbs per month, more than me which usually less than 2lbs or nothing at all *sigh.
Congrats for losing pounds!

    I totally understand how you feel. I went on this super diet/exercise challenge a year ago where I ate less then 1000 calories and cardio'd my life away for eight weeks and I lost 20lbs. It was crazy hard to do that. And then I piggied out after and not a month later I gained all that weight on and then 15 pounds extra in the following months. It's really disheartening, isn't it?
You lost 10 lbs. It was hard and it will be, but you did it! You did it! You did it! I look forward to the day I lose 10lbs. Bitter sweet or not, you're amazing! Congrats!
