Last HaRahhhs!

Sunday, April 21, 2013

Tomorrow we are flying into Los Angeles and driving to San Diego for 5 nights and then back to LA for 2 nights returning on Sunday, April 28th, 2013. I hope and pray that we will have a great week and that we've not waited to long to take my Mom to SD. We were in Las Vegas about 5 years ago and got bored so we drove to San Diego. My Mom absolutely loved it there and thought it was so beautiful.

My Mom found in August 2012 that she had Kidney Cancer, Stage 4, that had spread throughout her body, leaving Doctors with no options to help her. So we got a wild hair and decided to take her to San Diego {DH & I)this week. We are just going to take it easy, go a few places and then go back to the hotel room so she can rest. She'd really like to go to the San Diego Zoo and possibly to Sea World and a few other places if her health will allow her to. I'm just hoping and praying that her health will allow her to do all the things that she wants to. She gets tired so easily, the only thing that we want to do each evening is be at the beach to watch the sunset. This will only be my 2nd time to see the ocean, the first time was when we drove from LV to SD.

I have really been struggling with my gout lately. My left knee, leg, ankle, and foot are all swollen up with gout. There's fluid on/in my knee. I'm just hoping and praying that my gout will lighten up so I can enjoy our trip and be able to do the walking necessary to see the sights. I don't want to have to sit on the sidelines. My DH will be pushing my Mom in the wheelchair, and I know there's no way I''m strong enough to wheelchair myself. I wish the tourist place would have a motorized cart or chair that could be rented.

I'm looking forward to going this week, it should be a ton of fun!
It's been a really hectic week, so a get-away will be a great thing!
And most of ALL that Mom will have a Wonderful Time and it will turn
out to be a Grand Last HaRahh!

These baked onion rings are incredible!
There is no way that you feel like you are
eating healthy and low fat when you eat these.

Total Time: 45 mins

Cook Time: 20 mins

Servings: 4
Units: US | Metric

2 peeled onions
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 -3 egg whites
3/4 cup nonfat breadcrumbs or 3/4 cup lowfat breadcrumbs
2 teaspoons italian seasoning
1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 1/2 teaspoons onion powder
1/2 teaspoon salt

1 Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

It's Coming Off... No Brakes :-)

It's Coming Off... n' I'm Ready to Ride ...!!!
NO Brakes... :-) Full Speed Ahead!!!

I've set a Goal and that's to concentrate on Eating Healthy and Tracking my Food and staying within certain dietary limits. And to do my best in staying on program and doing the things that I know I should. I Know WHAT to do and HOW to do it, I just NEED to DO It!

I may fall off a tiny bit here and there, but to get right back on and hang on tight.
I want to ride this out to the end! With the end being at my goal weight!

In the past, it seems like I've wanted to lose my weight, and knew what I needed to do, but just never really consciously set a goal to do it. The want was there, but it takes more than the want, to accomplish any goal. It's going to take lots hard of work and extra effort on my part, to be successful, to accomplish this/my goal in losing weight.

Like the old slogan say's ..."Faith without works is dead...!!!"

I CAN DO the WORK...!
It's Coming Off... n' I'm Ready to Ride ...!!!
NO Brakes... :-) Full Speed Ahead!!!
