Weight Gain is Freaking me Out!

I am now about six weeks into doing strength training twice a week and logging in my nutrition tracker, and I have to say that it's pretty discouraging to step on the scale and find myself nine pounds heavier! Drinking eight glasses of water a day is my biggest challenge, and I have to say that I've only been able to do that maybe three times in six weeks. Soooooo, I've decided to do a streak starting today on drinking eight glasses of water a day. I am not giving up on myself because of the weight gain. I just need to figure out what needs to be done about it to get the scale going in the other direction. Needless to say, it is freaking me out!

  Muscle is dense so it weighs more. I know its frustrating, but think about how much happier your bones are becoming emoticon Keep it up!!!

Moving Right Along

The scale has not budged yet, but I feel the difference in my clothes. The biggest challenge is drinking 8 glasses of water daily. I've only been able to get to 5!

  Congratulations! As for the water...I drink at least 2 glasses in the morning before I do anything else. Then I only have 6 to go. It's amazing I am now up to at least 8 or 9 glasses per day. My skin looks great and this is only one of the many benefits! Hang in there!

100-day Fitness Challenge

I'm going into day 3 of our church's 100-day Fitness Challenge. Hopefully this will be the motivation I need to get off my couch and start exercising. Boy, am I sore! I am planning to walk/run a 5K on Memorial Day, and I would love to reach my goal of losing sixteen pounds by the 26th. God help me.

  


Acid reflux is gone

Since joining Sparkpeople two months ago, the change in food choices has drastically reduced my acid reflux. I haven't eaten red meat in two months. My doctor told me to cut out tomatoes and peppers as well. I've switched to non-dairy Silk soy milk. My stomach no longer hurts, but the thing is that I'm running out of things that I can eat. I guess in time I'll figure that out as well.
