Germany again!

Wednesday, May 16, 2012

It seems like I only post when I am about to go on another Trip. It's back to Germany again and at weigh in this morning I weighed 143 lbs or 64.9 kg.
Since the last Trip to Germany, which happened to be the coldest January / February that anybody I spoke to can remember, we have been on a Cruise. So I feel good about my current weight. I always watch what I eat, even when I am away from home. Granted, sometimes it is not possible for me to log exactly what I eat, but at least I make an attempt.
The Trip this time is on occasion of my Mom's 90th Birthday!

Time to reflect

Wednesday, January 25, 2012

In the nearly two years I have been a Member of I have managed to shed 10 % of my original body weight - twice.
I am working on my 3rd 10% now.
Today I am leaving for a trip to Germany for 4 weeks. I just hope that my Mom's good Cooking does not set me back too far. I just know that I won't be able to resist some of the foods she prepares. But I promise to drink my 8 cups of Water daily, go to Water Aerobics twice a week, and at least make an attempt to walk a mile a day.
How far these resolutions will go I don't know.
My weight this morning was 144.2. Lets see what it is upon my return.

Dear Blog, I apologize.......

I have been lax in writing.
I'm not going to make excuses, just some explanations.
I have worked out, have been eating (mostly) right. Just have not input the data into SparkPeople.
This must change.
We just returned from a cross country trip with our 2 Grand Daughters (15 and 4 years old). The Trip took us to quite a few National and State Parks.
Palo Duro Canyon, Texas.

Mount Rushmore, South Dakota.

Yellowstone, Wyoming.

Craters of the Moon, Idaho.

the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, Yosemite, California,

and the Grand Canyon in Arizona.

19 days, 6,278.2 miles, weight gain 9.6 lbs ugh.
But, as a friend pointed out that is "only" 0.0015 pounds or 0.024 ounces per mile.
It did not help that I, besides the meal I ordered for myself, also ate, what the girls left on their plates.
I had weighed myself the morning of our departure and at that point weighed 149.2 lbs. The day we returned I weighed in the evening and was shocked to see 158.8 lbs displayed on the scale.
I will now resume the habit of weighing once a week on the same day.
We also started going to Water Aerobics again, so hopefully by our next Vacation in November I am back where I should be.

My Parents at my Dad's 75th Birthday. He was born Feb 25, 1918. He passed away April 9, 2011. Mary he rest in peace.

I've been to Germany twice this year, just got back Wednesday April 6, and now I am going back for his Funeral.

Needless to say, I have not been eating the "SparkPeople" Way and will really have to buckle down and get back with the Program once I get back from this Trip.

Here I am, back from Germany for not quite 2 weeks, and nearly lost the weight I gained while eating my Mothers wonderful cooking and the good German bread while I was there for 2 weeks. And now I am going back to Germany, this time without Hubby and for 3 Weeks. My Dad is not doing well and I want to be there and help my Mom. I will try to restrain myself from eating too much of the Bread this time. I just have to tell myself that one slice is enough. It will be hard.
Wish me luck.
