I see we have a new toolbar courtesy of SP. I was slightly annoyed at the whole thing because like most tool bars is has ads on it which is what tools bars do despite their claims to be helpful and all that other BS.
So anyways Im starting at this little tool bar, and for the record you can HIDE the tool bar so you don't have to look at it and I realize this so thank's for trying to help before you even say it.
The reason I have a hair up my a** is starting back at me from the tool bar is a Cheetah. Now it looks suspiciously like the Chester Cheetos Cheetah, but thats not possible on the SP web site is it? They wouldn't possibly have something that promotes crap like cheetos? Well upon clicking on it thats exactly what it is a game featureing Chester Cheetah for Cheetos.
Admitidly I am in a horribly bad mood so this rant is off the tracks but I was a hair bit, well I can't say offended nor can I say I am incensed but I guess we can pick miffed out of the closet and use that.
Given all the facts I stated above about the fact I can hide the toolbar or just ignore the tool bar and actually after playing with the tool bar it does have some redeeming qualities I am still a little miffed about the choice of advertising
Over my time here at sparks I have seen some advertising that I deem questionable by my own personal standards
actually as I am flipping around the toolbar (which I am liking the actual tool bar) I see an ad for a Bakers Challenge gluten free contest with a picture of a evil looking chocolate square of some sort.
Perhaps I am just over reacting seeing as the site is free which I am grateful for this is the best website of its kind on the internet. And I suppose not everyone who is on SP has emotional food issues or has an eating disorder like I do, but I do know of a great many people on here who do. I know the site has to be paid for somehow and thats through advertising, I would just think that they would be a little more selective on what they choose to advertise on here.
Well I am not longer miffed and the toolbar is still pretty nifty however I still stand by my earlier rant about the advertising choices. Perhaps its a necessary evil in order for us to enjoy this great site, on the other hand its not very helpful if the ads trigger people. Not everyone will be triggered by the ads but many of us could be and those of you who are sitting there feeling superior because you have it under control and aren't bothered by such things, GREAT JOB! *thumbs up* I will make sure they put a gold star in your file. The rest of you who have food issues I would like to hear your opinions. Granted its not like watching TV where you are assualted with ads for all kinds of deliciously evil looking treats but the option there is to change the channel, perhaps thats the option here. I just think perhaps they could structure their advertising a bit better
