I have a friend who needed to lose a couple hundred pounds who swears by OA. He quit going for several months and gained back a lot of weight, though. He told me recently that he's back to attending OA meetings.

Good luck to you! emoticon

    Cool

Once I went to an OA meeting and cried about my food problem. A lady told me I was just depressed from having had a baby. I finally did it, without OA, but more power to you! emoticon

Armless Pianist Liu Wei Defies Odds

This really requires no explanation, its just a wonderful example of how a person can overcome anything life throws at them if they have the drive and determination.

I am almost ashamed to think of the petty things I complain about in my life. There really isn't anything I can't accomplish if I put my mind to it and if I don't then I surely have no one to blame but myself.

The fighting will of the human spirit is a amazing animal if one but taps into it and uses it.

Where there is a will there is a way, if any of us let anything or anyone stand in our way we cannot cry about it because the only obstacle in life is ourselves.

emoticonI have five children and I took them to music lessons and they didn't want to practice. I started my son Nathan in Suzuki violin when he was 3 and I played WITH him so he would practice, which is how SUZUKI works, plus you listen to the music tapes during the week so u learn the son. At six he quit, telling me he was NOT playing the violin any longer. It did help him with MATH as he got through Calculus as a Junior in high school and he has a degree in Biomedical Engineering from Columbia U. in NYC. But, I wish all my kids would have seen the value in music. This boy is amazing. He certainly can become a fine music teacher. I have read that the TOES will grow longer, if a child is forced to use them as hands.

I agree with HSMOM2FOUR, it has to be about personal responsibility. This is just ONE more way for the government to control our choices. What happened to the parents knowing what is best for their kids. If my kids are healthy, and active, what's so bad about one happy meal now and then. The government is slowly taking over and it's only going to get worse.

Ahhh... wish there were still such a thing as PERSONAL responsibility in the country... sadly, it seems to be disappearing rapidly and some feel the need to have the government make all the decisions for us. Has history taught us nothing??? (Or were we so dumbed down in school that we weren't taught history?!)
