Spark Vloggers Team Challenge

Since I don't know how to Vlogg yet, here are my blog answers for this week's challenge.

1. I was introduced to SP by searching for weight loss programs. Found spark! It look overwhelming to me at first but I stuck with it to learn how to use Spark. Glad I did.
2. The final straw was when I took a picture of me to try to put on my facebook profile. I know I've aged, I'm 62 but didn't realize I had a double chin, too.
3. My psychological battle probably is accepted aging. I began seeing myself as old and and whatever shape I was in was due to aging. After meeting some spark women my age I realized I can get in shape and feel good about myself.
4. Vlogging appeals to me because I love watching live people's weight loss journey. It is so personal and since I live in a rural area, this is my socialization.
5. I think I left a couple of comments but need to do more.

  Wow! You wrote about exactly what i've been struggling with, regarding aging and fitness! I too am 62! (And a poet it seems? ) Have been so stuck but reading the blogs has inspired me to GET GOING!! Thanks you guys! emoticon

    We are the same age. I look ahead Lord will I will get to a older age and I see two groups of Seniors . Group one has positive attitudes,eat healthy and exercise . They focus on what they can do and not what they can't do. Group two has negative attitudes, don't pay attention to health reports and never exercise. They focus on what they can't do and talk about their ailments none stop. I want to be in group one when I reach 80 and still be going dancing and enjoying life.
We can do it!

    Hi! It would be fun to see a VLOG...I like to put faces with what I read from them. A VLOG is perfect. I can't seem to get one that isn't blurry. I think I'm at the wrong distance from the webcam or something. I just stick to words. But good luck with the VLOG effort.

March 15th

Decided to write a little something today. It's almost 6pm and I just finished doing a 28-day boot camp challenge video for lower body. This is my second time around. I noticed I'm in stage 3 of spark. I'm so glad I was faithful everyday to spin the wheel, track food and do daily exercise. I don't think I could ever go back to not doing any exercise. I swim, walk, do video's and eat properly. I no longer crave sugar. The longer I go, the less I even think about desert. I head for the apples when I have a craving. I also like freezing fresh fruit or buy frozen fruit and eat that for a snack or make a smoothie with low-fat milk or almond milk with the frozen fruit. Yum, it's so good! I lost an inch off my hips and an inch off my bust. I haven't lost in my waist but noticed I am shaped better in the middle. Oh, and I make sure I drink plenty of water. My friends have noticed I've lost weight. I started in January 165lbs. and now I'm 154lbs. It has helped my arthritis and my ankles are no longer swollen!

Walking

I started walking yesterday for 15 minutes. Today, I was supposed to walk 1 mile. I finally got up the energy to do that. I have lived on this street for 9 years and have never walked that far. There is a little camp store at the end of the 1/2 mile mark and I always drive. It was great! The only thing is the weather was 64 degrees and damp, so the gnats got me. I live near a lake and the bugs start coming out early. By April the ticks will be out! I probably have to stop in April but I joined a gym so I can go there, which I intend to do tomorrow. Some old friends from 40 years ago found me on face book and that was so much fun. I didn't have my maiden name down but they searched and discovered me. I am having a great time with face book and spark people. I have lost 8 lbs. since January 21, when I joined spark. I was 165 and 5'3". Now I'm 157. I want to get to 135. Well, I hope you all meet your goals.

    Congrats on the progress you are making. What do you think you are doing that is helping you drop the pounds?

I noticed on your front page your goal is 1,000 steps a day .....did you mean 10,000 steps a day?

There is something refreshing about walking out doors. Hope you have a good week! Polly

28 Day Bootcamp Challenge

I am on Day 3 of the Challenge. Nicole's videos are so helpful. It's just enough for me to get started. Spark helps keep me on track so much. Also, the encouragement of my Spark Friends are invaluable! emoticon
