I researched the funding for this study in the abstract, & it's by NIH.
www.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi
/10.1002/acr.22297/abstract

Unfortunately, many of NIH's researchers have collaborations with the industries and drug companies that they are supposed to be investigating.

While I hope the findings are not tainted, and I hope these findings are true, I wouldn't believe it unless the researchers listed in the abstract, stated they have NO connection to and no compensation from anyone in the dairy industry.

I have OA in my family, so it's a real concern personally for me, and I'm searching for answers. The abstract was interesting; thanks for posting it! I post study findings on my blog, too.

Meanwhile the research I've done on the net claims much help from raw organic apple cider vinegar, the kind that has the cloudy stuff in the bottom (called 'mother'); D3; turmeric; and much help from cherries and cherry juice. Both for OA and RA. I've personally had help from D3 and turmeric. Haven't tried the cherries yet.

OK so it is cold-I guess you aren't going to feel sorry for me since we got down to 32 during the night! I hope it warms up soon and lets us all thaw out. I have a big pot of vegetable soup on - hoping to warm us up.

I read an article yesterday about a study that suggests if we turn down the thermostat a few degrees (brrrr...makes me shiver just thinking about it!) we might lose more weight. The idea is that our bodies will take over regulating our temperatures and burn more fat as a result. I don't know...I think I'd rather just go to the gym. This cold is really getting to me, and the gym is toasty warm!

I am pretty sure you do use more calories when it's cold. Though it also makes you want to eat more.

Even here in South Florida it's cooler than usual. I know getting motivated to take my robe off and do my morning exercises is hard today. I haven't done it yet.

Asking for prayers please!!

Sunday, October 27, 2013

I believe in the power of prayer and I ask everyone to please say a prayer for a childhood friend of mine that has been diagnosed with breast cancer and possibly her lung also.
Thank you for lifting her up for healing
Also please pray for my niece that has been in the hospital going on 3 weeks now in severe pain, yet the Dr's have found nothing yet. It is a top-notch hospital that has a team of Dr's working on what is going on. Pray for their guidance to find the problem very soon and treat it
