Still here. Lost another pound this week. I have to eat way less than what Spark says to eat, and especially restrict carbs. Otherwise, I think I'd gain weight. Some day, some researcher is going to discover exactly how individual this size/weight thing is. To lose weight and eat 1200 calories a day I'd have to be walking 10 miles a day and lifting weights for at least an hour. In fact, been there, done that. I used to do what I'd call Stamina Days when I was about 25 years younger - walk 15 miles, lift weights or do Tai Chi in between, and eat about 1500 calories. I'd never lose weight for about a week after Stamina Day, but it set me up for the next round of weight loss as long as I dropped my calories under 1,000.

Oh well. Science will catch up some day. Have a great week everyone!!

Haven't been able to Blog for a while as work is keeping me busy nights and weekends. But today I've had a day off, so here I am. Thanks to all my friends who have encouraged me during this stressful time!!

I'm teetering between 172 and 171 -- seems ridiculous to spend two weeks losing one pound, but other than weighing once a week, I'm closing my eyes and just sticking to it. Wish I had more time to walk and work out, but that time is coming ...

    I wish I had time to workout period. I'm so out of shape and weigh the most I've ever weighed (excluding pregnancy weight when I was pregnant). Keep in touch I've been totternig between 212-213 for months and finally just got on spark to hopeuflly go under 200 at LEAST.

Beyond Ten

I'm blogging today instead of tomorrow because I'm about to unplug my router and move it to a new room. I'm not quite sure if it will work when I plug it back in. So this week I've gone beyond the first ten pounds and feel like I'm actually on my way. I have another 40 pounds to go to reach goal - that feels pretty good!!

I have learned that I just can't eat as many carbs as Spark thinks I can - my blood sugar is fine when I keep carbs to about 100g a day. But the good thing about limiting carbs? I've lost all my carvings for them!

Well - on to the big computer experiment. To my Spark friends - you may not hear from me until I get this figured out!

    Yeah, didn't take me long to figure out I needed fewer carbs than SP thinks! I'm much better off keeping them to as close as 100 a day as possible and hopefully about 20 per meal. I tend to require quite a lot of protein, too. Lost my first 10lbs and then relaxed and put a few back on, so am working to get back where I was, Two steps forward, one step back...best of luck to you!

Feelin' Fine...

This the start of week 7. I've lost 9 pounds - a little more than a pound a week. I've got my blood glucose back in control although I had to cut back on gluten containing foods to do it. Not exercising quite enough but that will come. Having a happy day.

The stress bug has got me and my diabetes is ... well, not out of control but a lot higher than I'd like. So it's more exercise and some relaxation DVDs. Maybe that will work.'
