Mother Nature speaks up!Monday, October 29, 2012
Mother nature is on a rampage on the east coast of the United States as Sandy rears her angry head. I pray for all in her path. May all find their way to safety and recover well. My heart breaks for everyone in harm's way! ![]()

I DO HAVE TWO FRIENDS IN THE PATH AND I HAVE NOT HEARD FROM THEM TODAY. THEY WERE ABOUT TO LOSE POWER WHEN I LAST HEARD FROM THEM YESTERDAY. THEY THOUGHT THEY WOULD BE SAFE BEING 20 MILES INLAND. I GUESS THEY WAS WRONG. SO THEY DID NOT EVACUATE BUT THEIR TOWN WAS NOT TOLD TO EITHER. I DON'T THINK EVEN THE WEATHER SERVICE KNOWS WHAT WILL HAPPEN FOR SURE. THEY CAN PREDICT, BUT MOTHER NATURE HAS A MIND OF HER OWN.

After time caring for 98 year old very negative, always and forever, mom, it was great to be home again. Helped with birthday/ costume party for grandson and his brother and sister on Friday. Twenty-five kids, many totally wild and refused to do what they were asked to do...made for an exhausting afternoon. I had that many when my kids were young, but I actually knew most of the kids and their parents. My dodd knew few of them...those she did know we're terrific and even the girls she did not know we're fine. But, those boys! My ears continued to ring for more than 24 hours after.
So, now that those two items are behind me I am ready to get back on track. I gained two pounds while caring for Mom so getting rid of those is my first priority. To that end I took a nice walk with dh yesterday and again this morning. Now I am off to the gym. It feels good to be back on track.

What a time you had and know you are glad to be back home to peace, quiet and contentment Know caring for your mother could not be easy task but you will never regret the time spent when she is gone find the good and let go of the not so good my mother lived to 95+ and I was not her favorite daughter but was the one she called when she wanted or needed something at time I resented it but made peace with that feeling before she went to her heavenly reward it is a thankless task The children's party seemed out of hand glad you were able to help kids today have little respect for others and it begins and ends with their parents Take care of yourself now one day at a time Report Inappropriate Comment |

Women are tougher to take care of than men are! I swear to try not to be mean or nasty if I end up being taken care of!!! Now you have time for you!

My experience with elder care is that the women are more cranky and less appreciative than the gentlemen. I think men are more used to being taken care of. 25 kids is way too many for a fun party!!! 5-10 is plenty! Take care of yourself, Barbara. Report Inappropriate Comment |
