2nd day of 30 day shred

Wednesday, July 21, 2010

well today was a little easier. lasted 20 minutes but stopped 4 times. and let me tell ya, I sat down to go potty earlier this evening and do my legs hurt to sit. probably won't move tomorrow. went for a walk with hubby too so got my workout in today. got blisters on the back of both heels because I was stupid and did not wear socks. I will post beginning pics of my 30 day shred tomorrow so when the 30 days is up I have something to compare myself to. I would love to be able to wear the bathing suit.

I love what your friends have shared with you, My Precious Nancy -- esp Tedybear (above). I kindly suggest maybe -- just maybe, you need to make goals that are a bit more attainable ... cuz I gotta tell you, just because someone is small enough to wear this pink suit, does not necessarily mean they can get away with it!! Maybe turning 56 a coupe months ago made me take a second look!! I think we can be sexy and relevant -- when we are first comfortable in our own skin. I love you enough to tell you that I work on that thought almost daily because I have to forgive myself for the yo-yo dieting and destruction that comes with up and down weight gains and the damage it does to one's body.

What we fit into, is not the most important thing. Feeling better and being a lot healthier is our goal. The clothes will come. Doubt many people look good in that suit?

Keep your head high and reach for the stars!

The Firm did the same thing to me. I just tried every day to do it and eventually it came. Totally paid off. Then I dropped the ball and now I have to start all over again. You can do it! Again, you will be surprised how quickly your body adjusts to the work out and you can do the whole thing! And, it will totally tone you. I know a ton of friends who do her DVDs and it sounds so much like the Firm. Keep going! You will love it!

Hmm...didn't get through it the first time, or the second, or the third, etc. I did it for the 5th time yesterday. I do about 80% of what Jillian tells me to do. I do all the exercises, but not so many reps. And I do push-ups against a wall, because I can't even do modified ones on my knees. Funnily enough, in the beginning the strength was easier than the cardio, but since I've gotten further with C25K the cardio is much easier now, I can do all of that.

The good news is... I AM getting stronger. Stick with it! It will get better.

you can do this!!!! i felt like death the very first time i did 30DS. I'm on day 13 of 30DS and on level 2 and I can do pushups now =) Jillian is hardcore, but keep listening to her when she tells you that you can do this. Stick with the modified versions of everything and gradually increase to the normal levels!!! There's nothing wrong with taking your time, just keep up that heartrate and really push yourself

YOU ARE STRONGER THAN YOU THINK YOU ARE emoticon

Hang in there!! I have never done any of her workouts but I am guessing as successful as she is, if her workouts were easy, nobody would be buying them because they would not eventually see results!! Work your way into these workouts and in time, you'll be amazed!!!

It sounds like a very hard workout. I can't do those things. I just walk the halls and stairs and am losing weight the last few weeks, slow and easy.

Good luck!!

Oh my goodness... JM's dvds are so so hard!! The first time I tried level 1 on 30 day shred, I was sucking air on the warm-up jumping jacks. I had to take a few breaks. It scared me from doing it too often, but now that I'm trying c25k, I'm starting to do 30 day shred on non-running days... still on level 1 but it's getting better. someday i hope to move up to level 2 :) anyway... don't get down about it... her dvds are really killer!

It is tough!! Don't be hard on yourself, the whole point of the 30 Day Shred is to build up to being able to do all of those exercises. Trust me, by the 10th time you have done the first workout you will notice how much better you can do with it, and that feels awesome!

I doubt ANYONE makes it through Level one the first time, unless you are already athletic. We are not expected to do the whole thing right away. I think sometimes it's something to Shoot for. A Goal. each time go a little bit further. You never have to finish, just start and do your best on each thing.

You will be amazed after 30 days of trying, how much further you can go than your first day. Keep track. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

Don't worry and Don't give up. I love 30 Day Shred, the trick for me was exactly what she says in the video, do your best, if you need to do the modified version do so, and if you need to take a break just walk in place. It's 30 days for a reason, don't try and do it all the first go around, weight loss is a learning process.

Yesterday was my first day, and I had to stop a few times but I just barely managed to make it through. I was surprised at how difficult it was, I've been exercising regularly for the last two months (elliptical trainer, Wii Active, and some other exercise DVDs from The Firm and Women's Health) and used to be in much better shape than I am now! I'm so sore that I'm not sure if I'll be able to get through it today, but I'm going to try! Don't be discouraged that you couldn't get through it because it is really hard! Keep trying and you'll be able to do a little more each day!

I made it through the first day, but didn't think I would... but I did modify the jumping because of my floor (not sturdy enough to support that kind of movement). I was cursing her name the next day though! I just got it in the mail from Netflix (I did the workout for free on my cable) and I'm going to do it in the basement, so we'll see!

good morning my friends. we had the benefit for my brother yesterday and we collected over $1200.00. we had fun. I enjoyed it. some old high school friends came that i have connected with thru facebook so it was nice to see them again. am tired today tho. Saturday I baked 4 loaves of bread, 96 cupcakes, and 20 cups of icing then decorated the cupcakes. I am getting back to normal. not exercising too much yet but have been eating. I am really close to getting out of the 190's so looking forward to that. have not been in the 180's for quite some time. hope everyone here has a wonderful week and loses a few. if it is hot where you are stay cool and keep drinking.

DOING BETTER

Friday, July 02, 2010

Hello everyone. stopping by to see how everyone is here. I am doing better. lost 10 lbs in June and have kept it off so far. Mom starts chemo in 2 weeks and she also has to have another medication once a week. she will lose her hair and the more chemo she gets the more tired she will be but if she doesn't do it then there is a 35% chance the cancer will come back. If she does do it there is a 5% chance it will come back. My brother is doing ok. He is thru with his radiation and he is also getting chemo. He is very tired from it. My son which was my main concern in June and the one that caused the most stress ended up going to court and having to pay a fine and do community service. He goes back in sept. to see what the fine will be and how much community service. the other 2 kids got 100 hours of community service and the one has to pay a 700.00 fine. the thing that is upsetting is no where are the police or the lawyers producing receipts as to what the actual damage was. I was extremely concerned he was going to go to jail as they said it was a felony. again no receipts to prove it. these kids have been bothering him and his girlfriend for over 5 years now and they finally had enough and did some stupid stuff. the police and the state troopers will do nothing to these kids or their parents. they some how never get in trouble. they called my house 23 times in one day. I was told you need proof that it is them. well the one trooper did go talk to them and we have not had a phone call since. that should tell them something but all they got was talked to. they lie to the cops all the time. they have to be related to someone in the police or something. we have to have proof, proof, and more proof. they call and my son gets in trouble. I am going to look into what we can do. i will go as high as I have to. these kids and the parents have put my family thru hell for over 5 years. I am now on 4 medications instead of 2 to deal with their crap. if i could afford to sue them I would. I want them to be questioned over and over about what they are doing but they would just lie and turn it around. they follow my son home, have messed with his car, messed with my husbands truck, made the phone calls , the list goes on and on. but in the end my son is ok for now but I really don't trust these people at all. they are mean mean people and the parents let it happen. I hope he has learned his lesson tho. He now carries a cell phone with him. after a month of not eating I am starting to eat again and it is staying down. I cried for a month straight. had to much happen all at the same time. My mom, my son, and my brother. My other 2 brothers and myself have been working on the benefit for my brother that is terminal. the benefit is July 11th. we have raise $2,387.00 of the 5,000 to get him and his family back home for his final day. you can visit giveforward.org/timwood if you would like to and see how much we raise in the end. did not mean for this to get so long. I rambled on but it feels good to get it out. take care all and hopefully I will be visiting my teams soon. have a wonderful 4th of July. I miss you all

they hide their number as private name private number and we have to trace at least 4 of them before anyone will do anything. crazy I know. I guess someone has to seriously get hurt before they will do anything. and we are suppose to trust the officers. I am beginning to lose faith in them.

I'm sorry to hear that you are so stressed with everything that is going on in your family. You need to take care of yourself first and the rest will follow. As far as the phone calls, it seems to me that the phone company can trace those calls. Do you have caller ID? If you could put up cameras that would be the thing to do but I know they are very expensive. I am adding my prayers too. God Bless.

as some of you know I have been thru alot lately. along with that I haven't been able to eat without it running right thru me. I am tired. I was wondering if I could drink protein drinks to get my energy back and how much protein is right per day. toast is about the only thing that stays down.

Talk to your pharmacist or any pharmacist at Wal-greens or some place like that.

Hope that helps.

Hope you are feeling better real soon!

I don't know about protein drinks but go ahead and try it and see what happens. Do you drink green tea? Try some, it may help you along with dry toast or crackers.

Love and prayers to you and your family.
