It's the beginning of a new year. What does that mean? That people will be making resolutions, but will most likely give up on them by February or March.
2 years ago, I started my weight-loss journey while in school. I started eating healthier and exercised a few times a week. I dropped over 25 pounds, but the closer I got to my goal weight, the slower is seemed to come off. Even though I knew this would happen, I got frustrated. I stopped exercising and wasn't eating as healthy as I had been, although I still managed to maintain my weight (give or take a couple pounds).
This will happen to everyone in their lives, hit a roadblock that seems too hard to get around, and may give up on. It's normal, but I am encouraging you to not give up on your resolutions this year. If you really want to commit, make it a lifestyle change, rather than a "New Year's Resolution." If you're stuck in a plateau in your life, let's finish this race together!
Happy New Year! May it show you the greatness and strength you didn't know you had in you!

Hey everybody. How is your fitness week going?
Do you ever have those days where you just feel like you HAVE TO go out for a run? Yeah, that happened for me today. I like to get in a run on Tuesdays, Thursday, and Saturdays. So I just felt like I really had to run. Even though it was raining. I waited until the big burst of rain had ended at least. I guess my body is getting used to the habit of running on those days. So I got in an hour (4 miles) around the block. I also ate healthy and kept within my goals.
Remember, "if you wait for the right conditions, nothing will ever get done."
Enjoy your week!

So last week went pretty good. I managed to maintain my weight after my class last Monday, and lost some proceeding it. Saturday was wonderful. Me and my family went on a run at a park we used to go to all the time. Funnily enough, we had gone there 2 weeks prior for a 5k. Prefect distance for a family run.
Then Sunday came. Now I know it's the "Day of rest" and all, but that makes it very hard for weight loss. My Sundays are usually very sedentary, unless we decide to take a family outing. The first half of the day is always very sedentary. Although I managed to get in some time with the Wii Fit.
Monday was no better. The first half of the day was very sedentary as well, as I was working on written homework. Eating a whole plate of food doesn't help matters much. When I got home, I snuck in 30 minutes or Wii Fit time before bed. I hate going to bed on a full stomach.
Anyway, Tuesdays seem to be where my fitness week starts. I always eat healthy, and get in a run and some Wii Fit. I'm looking forward to the week ahead.
(Sorry if this blog just feels like venting. I hate the effect the weekend has on my health)

Ok, so here is Monday.
I feel like this is the day my eating habits are the worst. I have a culinary class at 5 pm, and we don't eat until 8:45 or so. There are 12 or more dishes each night, including 2 desserts. And it's really hard to control myself, because we have to taste everything and evaluate it, describe it. It makes it hard to only take one bite if I have to evaluate its tastes, textures, etc.
I eat a normal-sized breakfast, but I usually try to eat a small lunch, and a light snack before I go into class. This is my first Monday night class I am attending since I've been active on Sparkpeople.com. We'll see how it turns out.

It was a slow and dreary winter where I live. One good snow, and I didn't even get to play in it because I had night class. Of course, day classes were canceled and the school opened back up at 1, but that's beside the point.
Anyways, I kind of got in a workout rut over the winter. I found it hard to go out and exercise because it was either too cold or too wet. I did get out a few times, but not often enough to make a difference. But now that spring is here, I am back in the game! Me and my family just completed our first official timed 5k to support my brother's school last Saturday. That was pretty great! I have been trying to run at least 3 times a week. I have finally lost 2 pounds since I've been running more.
To help matters, my mom got a Wii Fit for her birthday at the end of January. Unfortunately, we didn't set it up until last night. I think that will help with my lazy days.
Anyways, don't forget that you can turn a setback into a comeback! If you fall down, just get right back up again!
Have a wonderful day,
