I've Been Sick A Month Now

Wednesday, January 25, 2012

Ever since Christmas Eve, when I went visiting relatives (and slept in their basement and couldn't sleep) I have been battling clogged sinuses.
I didn't get the sore throat and I know my lungs are clear.... but it is just all this blowing of my nose!

Why didn't I buy stocks in facial tissue? I'd be a millionaire!

So, officially my health has been challenged a month and I feel lethargic. I guess I'll keep drinking my fluids and going to sleep as early as I can.

Now, where in my Kleenex box?

    Thanks friends!
I seem to turning a corner. I sneezed only twice today and blew my nose once. Thanks for the great perspective and prayers.

You may have gotten fungus in your sinuses and that is why you are still clogged up and feeling listless.

The flu does stick around a long time this year. I had the flu shot and about 2.5 weeks later I got sick... and I had one symptom after another for darn close to a month, my sister was sick closer to 8 weeks... .

Helen does raise a really good point about the mold.. It would be worth getting checked out. I was sick about 4 months when I moved up north to horrible housing with black mould on the walls, they even put me on morphine to try to help me get over it all. It was the sickest I have ever been....

Could there have been some mold or dampness in the basement that messed up your sinuses? I know mine have been messed up too, but that is due to our weather bouncing around everywhere...first it cools off, then it's warm again, etc. It just needs to be winter in PA until it's time for spring. My other issue is that the doctor started me on a blood pressure pill that causes sinus issues. Together it is a mess.
I have added you to my prayer list and will continue praying for you.
Blessings and hugs,

Shall I Re-Begin To Bellydance?

Monday, January 23, 2012

On the weekend I bought a coin belt that was made in Egypt. I have a Bellydance CD and if I will just be able to make it play... I will attempt to do some belly strengthening activity.

This blasted computer will not play my music. I am not very tech-y. I may switch to Youtube and follow some instruction instead.

This is baby steps, but it is better than just sitting around!

If you can follow the instructions, do it!! Great work out. Tried that 40 years ago, had a lot of fun with it, but never was able to master the dance. It was definitely not for public viewing.

They Make The Mistakes So I Don't Have To

Saturday, December 31, 2011

I received a copy of America's Test Kitchen Recipe Book. Wow, what a collection of super ideas and wonderful tips. I've been cooking since I was 14 and there are many items that I have incorporated from that Christmas gift in the past few days. The cooks and bakers in the test kitchen try many recipes to sift out the errors, so that we may side step errors and concentrate on success.

I am open to learning.

Isn't that how things at Spark People work too? We have tips, articles, friendly support and news about the good and the bad of getting our lives back on track.

At Spark People, they too make the mistakes so we don't have to. Keep your mind optimistic and learn from the pros. Life is too short to make all the mistakes ourselves!

Happy New Year!

A Little Bit TOO MUCH

Tuesday, December 27, 2011

Today I am nursing a sore throat. No surprise here- I have always had difficulty staying up late and that is exactly what has happened at my sister in law's home. We were visiting and staying up late 3 nights in a row.

I feel very run down. There was a lot of food and mnay people to visit, but I over did all the activity and will now be paying the price.

I will try to drink warm fluids and stay bundled up to get over the worst of this cold.

Wishing you and yours the best of health and happiness!
