Daily Motivation Day 22

Friday, February 15, 2013

Imagine yourself doing something at your goal weight that you can't do at your current weight, whether it's fitting into an airplane seat, riding a rollercoaster or walking up a flight of stairs without getting winded. How does it make you feel to see yourself actually doing it without pain or discomfort?

I did a yoga session (video) with one of my gf. I remembers when the open hip stretches winded me and I ached but I could do it with ease. In fact I knew the pose names and was able to listen without looking up at the screen. I felt empowered by how well I felt. I have more practice to open my legs but I'm seeing improvement from Day 1!!

Sounds funny but whenever I try to envision myself at my goal weight I always end up thinking about sex... lol!!! But being more confident in your body is definitely important in that scenario, right? Keep it up: it's worth it. :D

Daily Motivation Day 21

Thursday, February 14, 2013

Today, picture yourself paging through a flipbook that shows the progression of your body from the beginning of your weight loss to the achievement of your goal weight. How does it make you feel to see yourself shrink before your very eyes? If you find yourself having trouble today, imagine that every little healthy choice you make gets you one page closer to your healthier self.

That's an odd one ... don't know how to respond

Daily Motivation Day 20

Monday, February 11, 2013

Picture five things you want in your life, whether they are people, goals, experiences or things. How will reaching your small goals today help you achieve those dreams, too?

These types of ethereal visualizations are a skill that I continue to struggle with. What things do I want in my life - I have a loving husband (not a future thing); I want a less stressful career (nothing to do with weight loss); I am capable and able to do things that I want to do (nothing to do with weight loss). ARGH!

Daily Coaching Motivation Day 19

Sunday, February 10, 2013

Picture the amount of weight you've lost so far in a way that you can really visualize itómaybe you've lost a set of 20-pound dumbbells, a few cans of soup or the weight of your dog! Feel the heaviness of that weight and be proud of how far you've come!

Wow ... well, that's hard. I've only gained weight since I started in 2009. It's difficult to imagine :(

Daily Motivation Day 18

Saturday, February 09, 2013

Imagine stepping on the scale to find that your weight hasn't budged. Instead of immediately reacting with self-hatred and disgust, you remain calm and focus on the positive. What other accomplishments can you be proud of?

Today's visualization is aligned with today's feature article: www.sparkpeople.com/resource/motivat
ion_articles.asp?id=1625

Some ideas are to start the day with a positive ritual, like a sun salutation.

Their recommendations are also similar to yesterdays by monitoring: daily energy level, stress level, sleep quality and self-esteem. Something I've let go of, and should re-establish, is ending the day with an entry in my Joy Journal.
