Daily Coaching Motivation Day 7

Saturday, January 26, 2013

Imagine looking back on your calendar and realizing that you've exercised every day for an entire month.

I feel awesome when I reach 1000 fitness minutes in a month. My challenge is the injuries - shoulder, knee, back. At least twice a year something seems to go suddenly wrong. Am I over doing it? I know enough to monitor pain and that's never the issue. I most often wake up "broken" in the morning so it's hard to pin point how.

In what areas of your life could you work on building consistency? Scheduling time for me and not letting evening events fill my whole week. Actually leaving my desk - getting up and going for a walk for 15 minutes twice a day. Shouldn't be that hard, but again, my meeting schedule is crazy. These are the areas where I feel undone.

Thank you! Last night I was exhausted so I thought I would just do a yoga video (5 min each). 20 minutes later I felt revitalized and opened through my limbs. Clearly the fascia had released a bit and it felt great!

Hmmm, I am building consistency into my exercise routine. It's been fun. Keep up the good effort!

Looking at the fitness minutes over time, it really is sporadic. Today I took 20 minutes to do follow two yoga videos - a sun salutation and a quiet power stretch for your legs (to move blood to the heart). I feel great - I need to hold on to this every day!

Daily Coaching Motivation Day 6

Friday, January 25, 2013

Imagine looking at your reflection on the day you reach your goal weight. How does it make you feel?
I look forward to looking normal again through my face and chin, even the shape around my eyes looks odd and I'm kinda puffy. It's most obvious to me in photos. When I reach my goal weight, I want to redo our family photo!

I would like to take a family photo when I reach my goal weight. Thanks for writing this. I took a moment to visualize us in the picture and it's a wonderful feeling.

Daily Coaching Motivation Day 5

Thursday, January 24, 2013

Imagine stepping on the scale to find that your weight hasn't budged. Instead of immediately reacting with self-hatred and disgust, you remain calm and focus on the positive. What other accomplishments can you be proud of?

This is a good question. The good news is, I don't weight myself that often so it's not a recurring issue. I judge how I feel by the more practical things: how my clothing fits, how difficult it was to walk to the office or up stairs, how well I'm maintaining my food plan, or a new Pilate's move that pushed my boundaries. I care about my blood measurements are for cholesterol and iron, and how much energy or joy I feel.

These are the things I will remember when the scale isn't moving ... because muscle weighs more than fat!

Daily Coaching Motivation, day 4

Wednesday, January 23, 2013

Think about 3 things that are on your bucket list. What goal would you go for if anything was possible? What can you do to feel like that in your life today?

I hate these type of questions ... I'm not good at future imagining so my bucket list is very practical. Thinks I would love to do - run a marathon. How can I feel like that - well, that's my obstacle. I am recovering from an injury and I never seem to make much progress. If I knew the answer to how can I feel that way today, I would be out doing it ...

the follow up question to how I'm feeling was: Take a moment to think about what is getting in the way of your workouts. What can you learn from your mistakes? Well, staying late at work wasn't a mistake, it was a choice to meet a deadline. I don't know that I would have done anything differently in a do-over.
