Daily Coaching Motivation, day 3

Tuesday, January 22, 2013

It's like they knew that I am going out for dinner tonight with a friend!

Imagine yourself dining out with friends. You know exactly what you want to order, and you have no problems turning down "tastes'' of your friends' food. How does it feel to be so in control of your restaurant experience? Carry that feeling with you the next time you go out to eat.

Last night I planned my meals for today and tomorrow to make sure I had a nutritious breakfast and lunch, fresh fruit for snacks and lots of flexibility for tonight. I will have one beer and carrot cake for dessert and that's okay because I am making a choice and planning around it.

My motivation for today was an SP healthy motivation. I have recently being trying yoga to increase flexibility and quiet my mind. My eyes went straight to this one and I think I'll add it to my desk top!

Sounds good to me. Keep it up.

I love eating nutritious food too. We always eat nutritious food at home and even we went out. My husband and I choose the Chinese restaurant or Japanese restaurant and some times we eat Filipino food. All nutritious and delicious.

Good luck with your friend.

Daily Coaching Motivation, day 2

Monday, January 21, 2013

Imagine going to bed later tonight and reflecting on the day, feeling totally satisfied with the choices you made. Isn't that a better feeling than regretting that you didn't do your best? What small steps can you make today to end the day with satisfaction?

Well, of course it is! but there are cookies on the desk outside my office. I have had one and it will take a lot of strength not to have any more than that!

Yesterday I preplanned my meal choices using the daily food tracker. I portioned all my meals for the day and brought plenty of healthy snacks: miso broth, apple, grapes and a small GF-dairy free piece of carrot cake for my afternoon pick-me-up. I have a quinoa salad and baked sweet potato for lunch and made rice-porridge with almond and coconut milk & hemp hearts. Feeling confident in my choices.

UPDATE: I ate only one cookie! I didn't even have any of the Valentine's snickers or rolo candies that appeared on the desk either. I imagined they were citrus flavoured - that's how I've been resisting the truffles (I don't like the orange-flavoured ones). emoticon

Plus, I waited a whole hour after dinner to have my planned piece of chocolate for dessert. I had a cup of tea. When the time came, I decided I felt full and didn't want it (although I brushed my teeth to help me stay strong while hubby is eating frozen yogurt with chocolate chips, crushed oreo cookies and caramel sauce). emoticon

Feeling strong! Thank goodness for tea ... emoticon

Daily Coaching Motivation Day 1

Sunday, January 20, 2013

Picture yourself going clothes shopping for your goal size. Think of the joy you'll feel when you finally zip up that pair of pants, or slip easily into that dress you've been eyeing forever! Remember that feeling of happiness and pride whenever you need a boost today.

These days I've been searching for a size 12-14. In my case, it's not shopping but going into the front room closet where all of my "almost but not quite" clothes are stored.

i guess the fashionista gene passed me by. i just don't care about clothes so much. if the color and the style please me, i but it. i so most of my clothes shopping at the thrift store, because i just can't understand the pricing for new clothes. what could possibly make a t-shirt cost 10 dollars? or more? my sisters go clothes shopping for hours, and that strikes me as major boring.

Fusion Flow

Saturday, January 19, 2013

I went to my 2nd pilates-yoga fusion class. I really like the principles and moves of the class but my word it was hard. We did several repetitions of Downward Dog - High Plank - Low Plank and back again. My arms/shoulders could not hold me up for even one cycle! I felt weak and defeated. Not the feelings I had anticipated feeling - satisfied, tired, etc.

Ideas to strive for

Monday, January 14, 2013

Today's feature SP blog linked to the Little Book of Diet Help. They list "your aim" (on page 5) as the following 6 statements. I think it's a good strategy:

To feel positive about yourself, your body, and how you look (I draw my strength from my husband who tells me how beautiful and sexy I am all the time).
To eat when you are hungry (this I am good at).
To stop eating when you are no longer hungry (this is the one I'm not good at).
To free yourself from cravings (... not so good at this one either).
To feel motivated to exercise more (this one I do well at until I have an injury).
To lose weight easily and naturally (that sounds lovely).

i have some of the same aims. i would like to be free of cravings and be motivated to be active throughout my day and be more aware of my eating habits and to control them better.

i used to think i was a lazy person, but i am an effective worker just scatterbrained. I just have to surround myself more with my passions.
