Hi Spark Friends,
As you can see I don't write many blogs but I needed to let you all know our latest news so it was easier to post in a blog.
Some of you knew that last month we celebrated my Mother-in-law's 100th birthday. She was vibrate and alert and really enjoyed the celebration. We enjoyed being with her and a lot of the family. Well early Tuesday morning (about 3am) she apparently had a heart attack and passed away in her sleep which is the way to go, I would think. We will be leaving in the morning (Thursday) to head to Atlanta for the viewing and funeral. We are very sad but she had a wonderful life and is now with the Lord and all the family and friends that have gone before her.
I will be back on Sunday but it will take awhile for me to catch up on Spark as I will have limited internet.
Thank you ahead of time for all your support during this time and always. You all are the best!!!!
On Wednesday I will be having surgery on my left foot to remove arthritis and a bunion that is pressing against my foot. I've put off doing anything about it just because I didn't want to be bothered to have to re cooperate! However, it has gotten more painful to wear any kind of shoe so I think it's time.
My Doctor says it will take 2 months to completely recover but should be able to at least stand on it after the first 3 days. I guess I'm a little apprehensive as, thankfully, I've only had one other surgery so I'm not use to anesthesia so hopefully I won't have a reaction to it.
Thankfully, I have the prayers of my friends and family and I sure appreciate you all!
Will try to check in when I'm not so "out of it"!!!!!
I'm on the Turquoise Titans BL Fall Challenge and one of our challenges for this week is to list 5 things that hold me back from accomplishing my goals. You know, I don't think I've ever really thought about this even though I certainly haven't been successful every time I try to lose weight. So now that I have given it some thought, here goes!
l. I don't like strength training but I know it is important that I add it to my exercise routine. I do like cardio except I don't always get all I should each week.
2. I'd rather spend my time knitting, crocheting, reading and being on the computer rather than exercising especially when I'm watching TV! Also rather do those things than be in the kitchen cooking!
3. I justify "cheat" or splurge days more than I should to be successful!
4. It is easy to be talked out of choosing healthy foods when I'm with friends and/or family. Guess I'm a wimp!!!!!
5. At some point, before reaching my goals, I get content where I am and won't push myself to get where I know I should be.
Okay, now that I've put these in a blog it will make me really think about it every time I reread this!!!
Thanks to all who take the time to read this and I appreciate all your encouragement!!
I really need to get in the habit of posting blogs, they just aren't my thing as I've said before but I need to do this one to complete Week 10 of the BL Summer Challenge.
Let me say, first of all, that my Turquoise Titan Team is an awesome group of ladies that have encouraged me all along the way. My goal was to lose 10 lbs. and I lost 11.2 (I'll take every little bit that I can)!! I did fall down on getting all the cardio and strength training that I wanted to but I did try to do as much as I could each week. I'll sure plan to step that up in the Fall Challenge.
I can say this time when we went to our cabin in the North Georgia mountains, I lost weight instead of gaining. Every time I would think about eating something unhealthy I would remember the goals I set to choose healthy foods over junk. There were times that I did give in (a couple of special occasions) but I also didn't beat myself up about it.
So here's to the Fall Challenge that will be underway shortly. Looking forward to what all is in store for me!!!
Thank you all for your support, encouragement and love!
You can see by the date of my last blog that I'm not a blogger!!!! I never think that what I have to say is worth anyone reading!!! However, I love reading my friends' blogs and think "I could have written something like that"!!LOL!
The Spring Challenge was just that for me: a "challenge". Seems like there was a lot going on with health issues and other family situations but it turned out to be a blessing. Our Titan team members are the best, so encouraging and helpful, it was a great group of ladies.
I can't say I had any great break through's but I was able to lose some weight. I never changed my weight tracker, I guess I should have so it would be more accurate. However, I was really encouraged to keep on keeping on by reading the posts of my teammates. I just can't thank you all enough for all the support and for sticking with the challenge till the end. Can't believe the end is here, this is Week 10, it has just flown by.
Looking forward to the Summer Challenge and hope to get a few more pounds off.
Thank you to all of you that take the time to read this and comment. I appreciate you all.
Hugs and GO TURQUOISE TITANS!!!!!
P. S. Forgot to say I lost 17lbs. during the challenge!
