Views from the Ride 11/9/2012 & Fasting for Fat Loss

Saturday, November 10, 2012

A few pics of yesterdays ride. Some of the places I come across are truly beautiful or special in some way and I'm going to start sharing some of those views with all of yous on Spark. Enjoy

And these patches are emoticon Rear tire is still rock hard from yesterday, or at least still close to 50 psi.

Hey Futurehope49, this tips for you. What I've been doing recently was based on a study that was discussed on "Cut the Fat Podcast": Fasting for Weight Loss. It seemed interesting and simple enough and the results that some of the participants achieved were compelling.

Here's a link to their podcast:
cutthefatpodcast.com/611/fat-loss-po
dcasts/episode-14-fasting-for-weight-l
oss-science-or-fiction

Dr. Ray and Blythe discuss 3 fasting techniques but the one I tried was #3. If you suffer from ADD or ADHD, or are just short on time, skip to minute 25 or 26 and that's when they discuss the Mexico study, the simple and quick instructions that were given to the hospital employees, their successes and examples of how to put it to work for you. Hope this helps. emoticon

She Looked So Normal

Tuesday, October 16, 2012

Ahh, but that's for another blog. This one's on my new daily writing exercise for the Fall 5% Challenge.

I remember having to do "exercises" like these during detention in grade school. It focused me then and using it again to help focus me here and now. I thought for sure I'd get some fried chicken the day after my original post but still have yet to lick any of my fingers of sweet, sweet chicken juice.

Here are the first 3 days. Not much yet but something weird starts to happen around line 7 or 8. It's like it resonates more than just writing words on paper.

In case you can't read it my mantra this challenge is: I will exercise and eat well to reach my fall goal of 174 pounds.

Thanks and please send all donations to the Post 5% Fall Challenge Chicken Fund to...

Having a mantra really helps, but I'm not sure I could write it. Good for you! When I was training for a marathon a few years ago, I was reading a training book that suggested you use the mantra "I am a Marathoner" when the training got tough or you were discouraged and wanted to quit. It really helped.

I repeat my mantra as I'm taking my walks...helps to pass the time and I'm hoping it will inspire me to keep moving. Hadn't thought about writing mine down, but maybe I'll give that a shot. At least I'd get some much-needed penmanship practice! emoticon emoticon Jeannie

Your mantra is perfect and writing and saying it over and over will make it part of your psyche.
LET'S DO THIS!!!!!

Riding the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail

Thursday, July 26, 2012

Ohio has some of best trails I've biked on and the Ohio Erie Canal Towpath Trail was another fun one. Also one of the busier trails with lots of riders and walkers despite the heat. I rode from Massillon up to Lock 4 Park in South Akron, where most of the pics were taken. Rode about 7.5 miles one way of more than 81 miles of the trail, it continues north to Cleveland and the shore of Lake Erie. Didn't have the time or a seat padded enough but maybe one day :) Enjoy

Trains are my hobby and the Erie Canal helped develop railroads indirectly/directly. We have a rail-to-trails park that will ultimately take us through the White and Arkansas River bottoms for 50+ miles. Beautiful pictures.
