I just wanted to tell you all that I am feeling great! I have lost inches, INCHES finally! And it's that TOM so I have a little water weight but more than anything I still FEEL lighter! :-D My body feels relaxed, I'm CHOOSING to sleep 7 hours a night as much as possible, My tummy is going down, and I have energy... and more than anything I looked in the mirror today and saw the HAPPY, YOUTHFUL face I had in Aug 2007 when I started med school. I talked about this in a past post... but I don't even have the exhausted bags right now... YAY!

Guys, I AM SOOOO HAPPY! I have been sticking to my caloric needs and working out regularly! I am going to write more later, after my friday test, but I just wanted to share!

Today I did 20 mins of interval running. Sweat was pouring down my face, arms, back, etc! then I did 20 mins of bike, then 20 mins of strength training! GO ME! And now I'm back to studying! I have been thinking of some blogs that I want to write soooooo when I get free there will be several!

OH and I have decided that I'm going to eat according to my BMR-more details later. I am working too hard to not have a bigger weight loss by now, and my dr-sense, lol, is telling me my body is acting like it's in starvation mode!

CREATED A NEW GROUP!!! "GONNA MAKE IT HAPPEN" Please join! This group is for all the people who are tired of talking about losing weight and ready to make it happen! It's brand new and we're looking for members! I'd really like it to be a close-knit community and for us to encourage each other and do monthly challenges! Link Below:

BFL Week 4 or 1: Changes?

Just dropping by to say I had a great week! I made healthy choices stuck to my calories most days and worked out 5/7 days I think... lol. *I'm squeezing this post in before bed. this is Test week and I don't have a lot of time to dedicate this week!*

BUT: My goal is to choose healthy things as many times as possible. Workout whenever I can... and stay focused :-)

Sorry this is so short but I have to get some sleep so I can hopefully do an early exercise in the A.M. I will update later!

    This has been a great week! Despite it being test week I have still been active everyday! YAY! The day before a test is "DESK TIME" for me. but this time I woke up at 6 did turbo jam-20 mins and running- 20 min intervals and then went to class 8-12! Now it's study time.

I am thankful !!

Let the past be the past. Forget the former things.
GOD is doing a new thing for this New Year!
Get Right or Get Left .. Think about it, and then,
"The Battle is the Lord's!"

    What a great thing to blog about, and a true inspiration.

I have always been this way and people think I am cold hearted. It is not the case, God is leading me in the path he wants me to be at. I know I can still do better but each day I put it in his hands for direction. I am so happy you shared this, and I would love for you post this again

BFL: Question of the week #1

QUESTION: Do you think that Workout videos geared toward strength training are just as effective as lifting weights? I mean, I know there is an intensity difference but I wonder will should I *count* it as strength training too :-) ? THANKS!

    Depending on the DVD, I do count it as strength training. If I'm using hand weights and feeling the "burn", I don't see a reason not to count it, but thats just my opinion, if I were you, I would count it. emoticon

    Yea I was pretty much thinking the same thing. Strength training with weights probably gets the results faster... but I must say that the videos include body weight exercises which I'm sure does help tone the body... it's probably just not intense enough to make a difference quickly...

    I personally wouldn't count it as ST as I think I get a lot more out of straight weight lifting, but I suppose it may be a personal preference thing.

    Workout Video's geared towards strength training are good but it depends on your intensity and how much you push yourself. Most strength training video's work more than 2 muscle groups at a time and you are doing a ton of reps which in my opinion is more like you are doing a cardio workout. Always remember...... if you can easily get to 15 reps with only a little burn but you feel like you could do more, than the weight is too light for you. You need to really push yourself HARD to be able to get to 12 to 15 reps, and even if you know you can't possibly do anymore.....do one more. That is the way to grow your muscle and see results faster :)
