BFL: Week 3: Running, running, running: Question of the week!

I ran a 10 K yesterday and surprisingly my knee didn't hurt! YAY! I ran it slowly because I didn't want to re-injure myself... It took me a little more than an hour but I am proud! :-)

My goals for week 3 are
1. to not eat any fast food , one exception allowed
2. To do 7 workout videos ANd/OR 350 mins of exercise this week :-D... May have to get creative!
3. To drink water every day and often!
4. To stay positive and active..
5. Stick to b/t 1200-1550 cals
6. To do yoga once this week

Sun- Cardio
Mon- weights + cardio: Lifted 20 lbs/ 25 lbs/ 15 lbs during overhead press 15lbs bicep curls, 30 lbs for my squats
Tues- Off
Wed- weights + cardio
Thurs- off/fun exercise
fri- weights + cardio

I went for a 3 mile walk yesterday- day after my 10K

Today I did 5 miles and lifted some serious weights for 30 mins!

BFL: Week 2: One meal at a time

I have been doing good on my program so far. I need to go grocery shopping so I can have more healthy food options.

I had the best workout yesterday! Rode my bike to the gym, went running, then slipped on my weight lifting gloves and strength trained like a whoa-MAN! lol :-) emoticon emoticon 32 mins-weight lifting 57 mins cardio

I have lost around 5 pounds and am almost back to my start weight before the cruise!

I am going to keep working hard and as I continue to improve my diet I know I will see changes! Thanks for the encouragement last week... I needed it!

My motto is that I do not have to wait til tomorrow to start anew! If I eat something that I shouldn't or choose to enjoy an extra cookie I will not dwell. I will make my next meal more balanced and not throw my, day/week away over a few bad choices. This is not a race... lol. and if I am consistent I will reach my goal... SLOWLY but I will reach it!

Wed 3/25- Jillian Micheal's 30 day Shred Level 1: 25 mins *I finally bought it! YAY! & 23 mins of Turbo JAM!! This was my first time doing Turbo Jam and Jillian Micheal. Turbo Jam seemed a little cheesy but I'm going to give it another shot. lol!

I was sooo sore from my strength traininng session yesterday But I pushed out 48 mins of workout so I'm proud!

BFL: Week 1: Feeling Down. Beaten but not Broken

~*~I want to thank everyone who regularly reads my blogs. You inspire me!~*~

Hey everyone!

I am busy studying but had lots of stuff on my mind so decided to quickly write some of my thoughts down.

Today has been a rough day for me.... I'm tired of feeling fat and out of shape!!! *PMS/TOM doesn't help either! LOL* AHHHHH! I'm tired of talking about it. I'm tired of thinking about it. And I want my hard work to produce results!!! emoticon I guess you've got to REALLY REALLY want to lose weight to have the determination not to give up! I am beginning to feel like no matter what I do, I can not lose the weight. *I know this is not true, but I feel let down that eventhough I am continuing to work hard I am not seeing results.*

I have accepted that this is going to be an up hill and sllooooowww process for me, but I jsut feel like I am being repetitve. I almost want to stop updating all together b/c I feel like I set goals and sometimes reach them/sometimes don't and I'm sure you guys are tired of reading my hopeful wishes. :-{

So because I am an optimistic to the bone, I am trying to dig DEEEEEP and find something to learn from my lack of progress.

1. I AM realizing that for me I am going to have to watch every morsel of food I eat and stick VERY closely to the plan or I see no results.
2. I can no longer blow it off as one more chip or one fast food meal won't hurt, b/c I obviously need to shock my body into weight loss.
3.I will continue to make smart choices and choose progress over perfection.
4. I am doing my best to incorporate small things like, getting up every hour to walk 5 mins around the library while studying OR leaving food on my plate
5. I WILL NOT GIVE UP. I am sorry if I am repetitive guys :-{ I hope my lack of progress doesn't discourage you! All I know is that I am working hard. I am not seeing results as quickly as I'd like... but I will continue to believe that IF I KEEP PUSHING eventually I will see some results.
6. I need to be realistic with my expectations. I am busy. I have a VERY stresful life for the next 2 years*at least*. So I am pledging to do my best and give my all to the BEST of my abilities... but I can not expect to be perfect 100% of the time.

So this will be my lesson in perserverance. I am going to continue to push. continue to fight for every pound I can lose.

My workout schedule for the Body for Life challenge:
*Goal 1 hr of exercise/ day. Since med school steals ALL of my free time I will at least complete 30 mins of exercise. I am allowing some leeway b/c it is unhealthy to be extreme and nothing in life is all-or-nothing.

Sun- Cardio
Mon- weights + cardio
Tues- Off
Wed- weights + cardio
Thurs- off/fun exercise
fri- weights + cardio

    Consistancy wins the prize! You have to stick with it and you will get there you have a plan, stay focused and it will be all yours!

    Perseverence is what will get you to taht finish line, so just keep on pushing. I have not moved the scale much in almost a year now, but on the bright side I truly feel like the 25 lbs. I lost are gone forever and ever. So at least that is something! I will keep pushing to reach my goal and so will you!! We can do this! And we will live longer and healthier because we did :-)

Weeks 11/12: Recommitment

I had a wonderful time on my cruise! It was therapeutic to look over the ship's edge and see clear/BLUE water... I went out of my way not to overeat and tried to choose fruit and veggies most of the time. Now OBVIOUSLY I ate a lot of good food too!! :-) YUM! I think I put on a few pounds on the cruise despite trying not to but I have already started removing them! :-) I will update my weight soon. I have a test Friday and this is a VERY busy week for me!

I'm making this one brief because I have re-committed myself to choosing healthier foods, cardio and strength training!

I started the Body for life Challenge on Sunday 3/15/09
*I am doing my best to stick to the program and WIN the money and body!! :-)
*It is a 12 week program and focuses on lean meats and veggies and making healthy choices! *Actually I am doing the body for life for women challenge.

I'll be back later to write more!

March Goals

~*~I want to lose 8 pounds this month. ~*~ emoticon

** Start weight 148-150 <------ THIS NUMBER IS HAUNTING ME! LOL emoticon

**Goal weight 140 -142

**I would like to eat 1400 1200-1550 calories every day. I am giving myself some leeway for theweek of the cruise!

**I would like to RE-dedicate myself to yoga AND running.

**I'm running a 10K on March 28 and I know I could run it today if I had to **I just ran 5.5 miles Saturday** BUT I want to improve my mile time AND would like to improve my conditioning before then :-)
------> I need to strengthen my knee and the muscles that stabilize it because it has been hurting since before my last marathon. I want to do Lunges again! I have babied my knee long enough! It is time! :-)
