10 hours! Awesome. I hope to do some of that this weekend when my daughter goes to grandma's.

1. I ate really well today - tons of veggies and in my calorie range.
2. I repeated the positive mantras: I'm maintaining my ideal weight with ease and I'm at peace with food and my body.
3. I took care of my husband who is really not feeling well after chemo.
4. I got the laundry done (5 loads!).
5. I had a joyful time at work.

It sounds like you did well with your challenge.

My plans for Valentine's day are to stay home and let the electrician in to do his job.

NO plans for V-day, I honestly don't like being out in all that mess along with everyone else. Plus, I feel you should show your love to your loved ones every single day not just one day out of the year. I tell hubby no flowers, no card, no candy, no jewelry, nada, I rather go do something active BUT one year I can tell you the best V-day present was Lasik surgery. emoticon

Loving Myself Challenge: Day 25

Tuesday, February 12, 2013

I've gotten around something I'm allergic to and had the WORST allergic reaction today. I've had 4 benadryl just to keep the symptoms at bay and still am sneezing every few minutes... Feeling miserable today. Taking today off from my workouts but I did wear my pedometer and tried to walk a little extra.

1. Took a much needed nap after the Benadryl
2. Drank plenty fluids
3. Monitored my intake, tracked it, ate fruit for snacks. (I don't consider myself a binger but I can eat late night sometimes, somewhat mindlessly. I did some mindless eating today but did counted it in my total intake. It was 15 sour patch kids (a serving) )
4. I lost 1.8 lbs!
5. Read 2 chapters of the book I'm reading on weight loss. :)

Ok, headed to bed... again. Slept 5 hours after work. Still exhausted.

Here't to hoping I feel better tomorrow! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Loving Myself Challenge: Days 21-24

Sunday, February 10, 2013

What an AMAZING weekend I've had.

I Loved myself by taking this weekend to make an impromptu trip home to see my mom and spend some time with friends. I'm in residency but basically it feels like I'm away at college to me. LOL. I bought a house, I'm a doctor... but for those brief weekends when I get to go home, I get to relax and feel surrounded by love and back in my old comfy environment. No expectations, no work to do... just time to chill out.

So that was nice.

What was even nicer is that... I went on an awesome date on Saturday. :) I can't even call it date night because it started in the afternoon. But we went to dinner (I didn't want a meal because I wanted to watch my calories and we didn't have much time before the movie), then went to a movie. He picked a movie about psychiatry because I'm a psychiatrist and surprised me! (The movie is called Side Effects and is pretty awesome by the way!) Then we went bowling. I do NOT know how to bowl. And he has his own bowling ball(s) and shoes. LOL. But, he was patient and actually taught me some techniques and my score improved by like 35 points which was a huge deal! After that, we played scrabble... and ended the game with a SURPRISE tied score because it was almost 2 am and we both planned to go to church in the morning. It was a long amazing date and it felt like the time FLEW by. He and I live in different areas so we have to make the most of the time if we get it.

Anyway, here are my 5 things:

1. drove home and got to my dog in time before they closed. That saved me $30. Glad I decided to just get on the road and come back early
2. Spent time with my mom and really enjoyed it.
3. Got to go on an awesome date. :)
4. when I got home I was tired and wanted to nap, but needed to clean some and wanted t hear an online sermon. So, I got up and decided to GET IT DONE and be PRODUCTIVE! #success
5. I even got in a workout! Ran 30 mins on the treadmill and reached my goal of 10000+ steps. :)

Extra reward... I took a relaxing bath with candles and music. :)

Good night!

Loving Myself Challenge: Day 19/20

Wednesday, February 06, 2013

Hey guys!

I feel like my blogs are getting shorter and shorter ;-) It's just that work is very busy and I've been feeling overwhelmed :( Sigh! But... I'm still on this journey and completing my challenge. I have been making it a priority to think of 5 good things I've done each day and give myself Props for it!

Today was a SUPER stressful day. All I wanted to do was come home and SLEEP until tomorrow... but I didn't. (I've been having to make myself do things quite a bit recently... but once I get it done, I feel amazing and glad I did it... so here is my list.

1. Called Verizon and Sprint and addressed some things I needed to. Returned my iPhone due to not being informed about how my plan was going to change and STOOD UP for myself when they tried a billion times to get me to keep it and settle for the worse plan.
2. I again stood up for myself when I was basically told something that was untrue and could be proven on their website AND by my fedex delivery confirmation. SMH. like I said it was frustrating day.
3. Despite all that, I came home and washed my car! It had salt on it from when I went skiing/ the snow we had and I couldn't find a quick drive through car wash. I was tired of seeing a red/white car so I washed it... Now my baby is red again!
4. I wanted to get straight in bed after work, instead I finished my documentation.
5. I cleaned my kitchen and washed clothes. Instead of going to bed :)
6. I worked out
7. I washed my hair so I can be all PURDY tomorrow (pretty- I still can spell LOL)
8. I started Insanity and more intense workouts so I'm VERY sore and rewarded myself with a HOT bath yesterday
9. I'm still working out and wearing my pedometer (walking more on purpose) despite being sore. - I have got to get over this hump. Tired of feeling out of shape.
10. I am still working on my nutrition and I snack on fruits/veggies more often than anything else.
11. I drank 2000+ ml of water (my water bottle has ml for whatever reason)
12. I have been stretching more! I also stand in treepose when I am trying to center myself. Probably looks odd at work, but Oh well! lol

AH. Now I feel a little better.
emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
Later guys, Gotta finish my hair and paint my nails. lol.

Loving Myself Challenge: Day 18

Monday, February 04, 2013

today was a good day!

1. Did an INTENSE workout... Insanity Fit Test... 30 mins of intense interval training
2. I took a long nap. Had a migraine, fought it with sleep
3. I snacked on fruit. :)
4. I went grocery shopping for fruit after work... and
5. I bought myself a HALF DOZEN of roses... Just because.

-tracked my food and within limits too

Now, THAT'S what I call Self-Love! Why wait for someone else to buy you Roses (Although, that is nice too of course.) I still have a big reason to smile... I think they are so pretty!

    You go! Terrific idea.

I have not been doing well with this challenge. The binging is so the opposite of self love.

But I did..

1. Wake to work out this morning
2. Take an extra 1/2 hour work this afternoon
3. Make lunch.
4. Write on SP
5. Meditate

    Awe... roses are so lovely!

My last bundle of roses didn't last very long... but before they completely dies, I popped off all the petals... and OMG... rose petals are even MORE amazing then the rose itself! WOW, they feel like velvet and smell so amazing. I wanted to sprinkle them on my bed and roll around, but resisted the urge! LOL

I have a big smile today too... wonder what's going around?

A fabulous way to treat yourself! Every woman needs to do that for herself especially if she doesn't have a significant other to buy the flowers for her or there is not a significant other. I think I might just do that for myself this week. Thank you for the great idea.
