So I've been sick all week... and my appetite has been down. Today I had a boiled egg and 2 oz of turkey sausage for breakfast and soup for lunch. Then I thought, oh... I'll get this brownie sundae... because I want it and I think it'll be yummy. And you know what, it was DELICIOUS. After I ate it, I decided to add it to my food diary. I'm trying to stay honest. Do you know that brownie had 1290 CALORIES!!!!!!!!!!!???!!!!?????


It was delicious but it was NOT worth THAT many calories.

But no regrets. I chose to eat it and I enjoyed it. But I did think twice about the next time I randomly decide to treat myself. I thought, man... this must be why they say to PLAN YOUR MEALS before you eat. If I had known it was 1290 cals I would not have consciously chosen to eat it. If I did choose to eat it, I would have eaten only a part (but really... is the 1/2 of a brownie worth 600 cals? Probably not. So next time, I'll just make it from scratch).

And the better news,

Because I logged my food, I was AWARE of the fact that I just consumed a day's worth of cals in ONE dessert and I was able to WORK IT OFF!

Burned 1150 calories during my 2 hour workout and felt amazing afterward. I think my cold is getting better AND I don't have any guilt about the brownie.

    Why is it when we feel sick we want comfort foods?? I feel it is better to curl up on the couch and pull the blankets up to my chin and sip hot tea!!

    Well, if I get a brownie craving, I eat one of the Fiber One 90 calorie brownies. Probably not as sinfully delicious, but still it is a brownie!

Before I got on SP, I wouldn't have known to check the calories!

    When I eat brownie or anything like that I have no regrets...I refuse to beat myself up about enjoying something...life is too short but I try to balance everything out...just like you did!!! Moderation is key...so is happiness!!!

    Amazing with your cals burned, you must really move! Mmm brownie sundae sounds good, but as you said a homemade one could be even better (and healthier). No regrets, you enjoyed it, it's life right?

Hey guys!! I'm back from my vacation!!

Warning... TMI: TOM decided he would join me on this vacation though I planned and worked out and wanted him to stay away so I could look my best! I decided that I had waited long enough to put this darn bikini on and strut my stuff... so I did it anyway... bloated and all! :-) So now I have 2.5 weeks until I head to Las Vegas with the new beau. Time to get re-focused and try to slim down, or maintain.

Oh and the vacation was AMAZING. My friend and I got along so well and had a GREAT time. She has lost 80 lbs on her own and she was strutting her stuff in her bikini and looked A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. We even did a kickboxing session taught by yours truly!!! :-) We burned 500+ cals that day. We also took the stairs everywhere we went, walked often, and went to the gym while on our cruise!

I am proud that I've made this a lifestyle and you know what... people know me for my workouts and I LIKE that!

Mid April: PIC update!

So... This month I have been on a mission. I wanted results and I'm working hard to get them. Pretty much I'm just eating fewer carbs and drinking water and working out (as usual). So... we will see how this goes. Hoping to be AMAZING by my bday in July. :-)

Lots of upcoming events:
April= cruise to Bahamas
May = Las Vegas
July= BDAY trip somewhere nice!! :-)

April Fools/ Amazing results in April!!

Hey everyone,

Time for my monthly blog.... I have been working hard on my weight loss plan since late last year. I feel like my inches are changing but the scale not so much. Honestly that is getting kind of frustrating. It doesn't change anything because I still have to eat right and exercise to lose weight [and maintain once I reach my goal] but I am hoping that I can figure out a way to get the scale to start moving because I don't want another year of hard work and no real loss on the scale. I am, however, reaping the other benefits of exercise: Great sleep, better mood, clearer mind and skin (LOL)... but at some point no matter what people say, I still want to see some results on the SCALE! So... on that note, I'm going to keep pushing and go over things with a fine-toothed comb to see where I can make (more) changes. Here's to pushing through disappointment and never giving up!

    To make the scale move, your diet will have to change.
By doing something as simple as Incorporating more veggies to your diet (as snacks) I guarantee you'll see the results that you are after!

    GREAT way of thinking, pushing through and never giving up. I also had to step back, rethink and retweak my plan. It hit me recently that I have been on SPARK for 2 years now and I have lost and regained the same 10-12 lbs over and over. No more of that. My original goal was to lose 40 pounds and dang if this year won't be the year! I am down 11 right now and not looking back anymore only forward.
Significant weight loss is what I want, to be my own success story. Good luck in reaching your own goals! I know you can do it.

Marching to a different beat!

I haven't blogged much but I am STILL going hard in the gym, on the streets, and on my yoga mat! LOL

I am still on my 100 day streak and going strong. I did insanity fit test yesterday and ran and did PART of the insanity video today... Burned 852 cals.

I also decided to re-create the infamous Summer 2007 weight loss attempt and so now I am eating every 3 hours. I was totally satisfied ALL day AND my body got hungry on schedule. ;-) So yay! Time to break this plateau and make the scale MOVE in the next 6 weeks.

I have some plans ;-)

Oh and I drank more than 64 oz of water!
