I will write more later or tomorrow. Today was a rough day for me. Not food wise... and not exercise wise either. I just have been feeling sick and isolated (because I don't want to get others sick. ) :) The "Doctor-ly" thing to do I guess... instead of spreading germs. PLUS it's COLD out there! LOL

Anyway, the day has a pleasant ending and I re-discovered my love of dancing and burned 580+ cals dancing to music in my living room and making up routines. I never feel more alive than when I'm moving and actually using my creativity.

So I am going to do it more.

and that's what the next blog will be about. Time for some introspection. I have some things to work out in my personal life... but I guess that is why the joy is in the journey and not the destination. Always something new to learn.

I did just this today.
I was in my range and then I went and ate half a muffin and I am sure it took me 250 calories over.
Oh well tommorrow is another day.

Schedule your meals ahead of time: Follow the plan

Today i am following my eating plan! :-) YAY! I created it last night before bed and decided I would follow it very closely! I allowed extra snack in case I get extra hungry and I will likely add in more fruits and veggies at my meals.

B: Turkey bacon 3 slices
oatmeal 1tbsp brown sugar
coffee + 1 tbsp sugar and splenda
egg white with cheese
----------------------> Breakfast eaten at 11:30 am (slept in :-) Cause I'm sick!) yum!
S: Banana
boiled egg

L: Grilled chicken + hot sauce (making buffalo strips)

S: Soup?
lean cuisine - if SUPER hungry
100 cal popcorn - if SUPER hungry

D: crab cake (i made it last night)
2 oz shrimp

    Sounds like being greedy but its to stave off hunger from unpreparedness. I am thinking of what I can bring tomorrow even though I am FILLED to the brim with good food!

So tomorrow its a toss up between oatmeal w/toast or a scrambled egg w/toast for breakfast. Lunch, will be chili w/real fruit juice, blueberry yogurt for snack & grilled chicken breast a nice salad & a baked potato. Evening snack half of pb&j w/2%milk. YUMMY!! Perfecto!!

Little Lessons: 1

Today I learned the benefit of measuring and weighing foods! I was preparing lunch and found some broken tortilla chips. They were little pieces but I was hungry so I decided I'd still eat them... Something told me to try measuring/weighing them first and what do you know ... Those LITTLE broken pieces of chips equaled 2 oz! So I only ate 1/2! YAY !

But imagine if I had done what I normally would do... and just eaten them because, "they are only little fragments." You know what, those little bites add up and I could have easily eaten 300 calories without even knowing it! HMMMMM, so THAT must be how we can workout for hours on end, feel like we're eating "better" and never see results! As they say, Little foxes spoil the vine. I will do better to count all of my intake so I can see results!

    Great lessonn! Thanks for sharing! I eyeball a lot of things, and I'm sure I'm not on the low side but on the higher side! I need to find my scale and begin using it again. We are in the middle of a kitchen remodel and I don't remember where I put them!!! LOL!!!

Weekly goals: 1/9/11

This is a short blog... but I'm just writing to say that I am recommitting myself to being accountable. I am starting to use spark people on my phone as a way to immediately record what I am eating and hold myself accountable. I only have a BlackBerry and the internet isn't that great but it'll do for now. I'm sure it will be better if I upgrade to a droid... but I am starting where I am!

So for the NEXT week I am committing to :

1. recording everything I eat and counting my calories
2. Being HONEST in my assessment at the end of the week AND honestly counting each meal/bite of food.
- at the end of the week I will KNOW how much I am eating and be better at making adjustments... plus eventually you get tired of seeing high calorie counts and wondering why you're not losing weight. :-)
3. weigh myself and record the weight. AND take my measurements. Then NOT judge myself. It is a number and a starting point. Being critical doesn't burn calories. ;)
4. drinking more water and exercising more days than not!
