BBB: Day 106: November 1

I am up late and wanted to blog really quickly before bed.

Today marks the 2 month mark until the new year and I plan to make the most of EACH day. :) I reached my 1/2 October goal and lost 4 lbs in the last 2 weeks... So that gives me a head start for November.

Now's a great time to take a look at your New Years Resolutions and see which goals you can MAKE HAPPEN in the next 2 months. You can do it. We can do it. I can do it.

So my 2 month goals are as such. Make a BIG dent in my weight loss goal for the year. I know I may not reach my goal completely before 1/1/11 but the thing I won't do is give up. We often fail to do what we can do because we fear it will not be enough. When in reality, starting NOW is the best chance you have to actually reaching your goals. I wasn't feeling that great earlier today, I had a bad allergic reaction to something and my right eye got swollen, teary, and I was having major sneeze attacks BUT I decided that I needed to do something active no matter what. I set out to run 5 miles and I ran 5.25 miles. MISSION accomplished.

Sometimes you have to just do it.

My 2 months goals:
[]get OUT of the house. Winter time sometimes causes me to Isolate myself.... maybe in an attempt to shield myself from the cold? lol. Or maybe because I have been super stressed with life these days... but staying in the house won't cure my problems. So, I'm headed out and planning to do as much as possible outside of the house. So that means, studying in the library (where I focus better), going to church on Sundays, going to the gym, and exercising outside while the weather still permits!

[] dress up and do my best to like how I look EVERY day. again, I'm trying to fight this mood I've been in. It's hard studying every single day, and stressing the days you aren't studying... so, I'm going to reward myself with the little things... like, looking pretty while studying! Who says you can't have a pedicure party after studying all day! YAY! :-)

[] Focusing for the next 3 weeks on this exam that I am studying for... and then, having fun on a REGULAR basis. I have 6 months left of medical school and the stress is weighing down on me a bit. but, I know that exercise really improves my mood.... so between that, and getting around people I enjoy, I will do my best to counteract this funk I've been under.

[] eating healthy foods... less fried junk, more fruits, veggies, and lean meats. Prepare my meals at home, pack them, plan ahead. IF I want results in 2 months I am going to have to be meticulous and intentional with my actions!!! PLAN!

[]exercising daily even if only for 20 mins. I am aiming for much more than 20 mins of course. but there is NO excuse for not taking 20 mins for a sweat session. It can be just dancing in the living room if need be!

[] losing 14 pounds in the next 2 months. This I can't control directly... but I can control the other things which will hopefully lead to my ultimate goal of weight loss!

Ok, SPARKIES... we've got 2 months, LET'S MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!! What will YOU do in the next 2 months!?

    It's a great idea to keep outside as much as possible. You burn more calories in the cold! emoticon

    Minus the med school and exams I plan to do just what you are doing!!! Getting serious, out of the house even though it's cold, making the most of every day and getting in at least a 20 min sweat session, even if it's just dancing in the living room!! Thanks for the spark. Keep it up. You can do it and I will too!!!!Let's compare notes on Jan 1st.

    Only 6 months left in medical school??? WOW!!!!

As usual you have set some great goals for yourself and I know you can and will achieve them all...winter is a bit of a "ho hum" season for me for some reason but I think we can both pull through this one!!!

    Great goals - you have accomplished a lot already -congratulations. I am doing the same thing I have set my short term goals also and have put them in a spreadsheet and on a dry erase marker board. Thanks for challenging me to put them in a blog - makes me more accountable to myself and others that way - great idea. emoticon

BBB: Day 103: Losing it.

I am losing weight, slowly but surely. I have lost 3 pounds so far since a week ago. ( 2.2 lbs the first week and one pound so far this week.)

I want to make sure if I'm going to lose weight slowly, I will at least lose it consistently. Studying more each day and planning to take tomorrow evening off to party!!! :-) Then back to work Sunday. Hopefully more focused and more successful.

My blogs will get more interesting after I'm less stressed!

    You are doing very very well...1 to 2 pounds a week is very good...so pat yourself on the back and don't expect the impossible. This is weight you will keep off.
I know sometimes after working out and eating properly it feels like at least 5 pounds should come off, but thats not the way bodies work...just keep up the good work, and be proud of yourself for what you have accomplished!

BBB: Day 91: Let Go and Let God

Good morning everyone!

I'm up for another day of studying... I had my wonderful big breakfast, I only do it on the weekends! :-) Pancakes, turkey sausage, and a fried egg. YUMMM emoticon

I am just feeling really thankful. I am thankful that I have a body that works, and though I complain and try to find ways to become something more than I am at this very moment... I just want to make it known that I APPRECIATE my body and all that it does.

Body... I thank you for...
-Loving me enough to keep on going even when you are in pain,
- for running 2 marathons without proper training and still being functional when I finished :)
-For being willing to walk 20 mins to get to work when I couldn't find a close parking spot. Literally, had to park 20 mins away and that was speed walking.
-for putting up with my complaints.
- for being all that you are. Because I know you are exactly what I need to be at this very moment.
- and thank you for being willing to remove these pounds so I can be more confident in ALL that you are... and we can be healthy together.

Oh and my goals are changing. At this point, I will be SUPER pleased if I can get back to 130. :-) Then I will slowly re-assess and aim for 125-120-115 IF I feel it necessary.

BBB: Day 86: Going for GREEN!

lol... I know I know You are probably already tired of my :color theme: but I LOVe it. And it kinda makes me feel inspired to aim for good days. Read day 84 if you don't know what I'm talking about!

I'm home sick again. (Going tomorrow no matter what). And on DAY 2 of my Induction phase.

B: grits , 2 scrambled eggs, and coffee

going to eat lots of FRUIT/veggies and get a good sweat in. Oh and I forgot to tell you all that I worked out last night at like 1 am. I burned 150 cals but it was GREAT! I did lunges, squats, weight, strength stuff and some cardio. It's baby steps. but I'm counting it!
