BBB: Day 91: Let Go and Let God

Sunday, October 17, 2010

Good morning everyone!

I'm up for another day of studying... I had my wonderful big breakfast, I only do it on the weekends! :-) Pancakes, turkey sausage, and a fried egg. YUMMM emoticon

I am just feeling really thankful. I am thankful that I have a body that works, and though I complain and try to find ways to become something more than I am at this very moment... I just want to make it known that I APPRECIATE my body and all that it does.

Body... I thank you for...
-Loving me enough to keep on going even when you are in pain,
- for running 2 marathons without proper training and still being functional when I finished :)
-For being willing to walk 20 mins to get to work when I couldn't find a close parking spot. Literally, had to park 20 mins away and that was speed walking.
-for putting up with my complaints.
- for being all that you are. Because I know you are exactly what I need to be at this very moment.
- and thank you for being willing to remove these pounds so I can be more confident in ALL that you are... and we can be healthy together.

Happy Sunday!
Oh and my goals are changing. At this point, I will be SUPER pleased if I can get back to 130. :-) Then I will slowly re-assess and aim for 125-120-115 IF I feel it necessary.

BBB Day 85: Sick... but green :-)

Tuesday, October 12, 2010

So I ate ~ 1330 cals today. Stuck to the diet Day #1... didn't eat everything on the list but didn't go overboard and I did eat a lot of soup and tea today because of feeling sick

today is an off day and I'm sick... so I'm counting it as GREEN!
did jumping jacks, pushups lunges and crunches.

Gotta get back to studying, then get to sleeping. So, GOODNIGHT!

Good for you! Staying on track is hard and being sick has got to make it harder. I hope you feel better real soon. Get plenty of rest and take care of yourself.

Plan for tomorrow: Being proactive

Sunday, October 10, 2010

Starting day 1 of 4 day diet INDUCTION phase:

breakfast:
coffee with splenda and 1 tbsp of sugar (1/2 cup of milk)
oatmeal w/ brown sugar
apple
water

snack
yogurt
fruit

LUNCH
salad
light salad dressing
brown rice
Banana
water

DINNER
rice
water
fruit
salad
collard greens
cup of beans

-------------------------------------
so looking at this written out, it doesn't seem like a lot of food. but this is only 4 days worth of induction/detox. and I'm going to stick to it. I can always add in more to make sure I'm meeting the minimum cals. the main goal is to go meat free and eat lots of fruits and veggies in the first few days I think.

I'm starting my detox tomorrow. Let me know how your journey goes. I have always liked fruits and vegetables so this should be fun, but it really does help. Remember that when you detox it is good to detox the mind too. emoticon

BBB: Day 84: Color Coding my day! today was GREEN

Sunday, October 10, 2010

Thanks to my SIS DrTAMM who gave me a great idea this AM! Oh and I need to shout her out for an AM wake up call at 5:45 am on Thursday to get up and work out... It really made my day :-) I LVE my sis!

So the color coding is apparently this (or this is what I took from her tip... and what I plan to do emoticon ): over the span of a month color your days green, yellow, or red. I already keep a calendar where I get a STICKER with a number on it for each day I workout. the numbers count consecutively and the goal is to have a calendar FULL of stickers... that would indicate you worked out most days. The color coding just adds a dimension to the idea I've already been using and I LOVE IT!

For me:
GREEN (days) will be those days that I stick to BOTH my fitness and eating goals. So that would be 1200-1550 cals AND burning 300 cals (or if it's a no workout day, being as active as possible)
YELLOW (days) will be sticking to ONE or the OTHER: either I ate right (1200-1550 cals) OR I worked out and burned at least 300 cals
RED (days) will be the days where I neither worked out OR ate right....

So the goal will be to have more GREEN than YELLOW and few RED! :-) Hoping this might help me get the weight loss ball rolling... and by the way, today was a GREEN day for me!

ate 1445 cals
and burned 806 cals :) So maybe today is SUPER green!!! :-) emoticon

--- might be a little complicated but I like it. and what's the harm in trying new things to see if they will get you closer to your goals!?

PS I'm on twitter @GonaBfit (this is my health twitter- :-) so must stuff will be health related. I'm new... add me if you want!)

i'm not organized enuf to do color coding, but the idea of giving myself stars when I drink my water and exercise (which are the two hardest for me to stick with) sounds like a superb idea.

I am my own kindergartner! I love being different and special ...

Thanks for your creativity! emoticon
