So, sometimes you gotta do what's right for you even if people don't understand. And quite honestly... I'm tired of explaining myself! LOL

now that it's off my chest.

Today was a good day, I'm learning more and more how LITTLE you can eat if you eat fried/fast foods. I did good though, since they keep feeding us junky food at school/work in the DR office all day, I am skipping dinner (ate some fruit) just so I can stay in the 1400 range. Will have some tea too. It's late and I'm sleepy so don't realyl feel like I'm missing out

Also jumped on the treadmill for ~ 40 mins burned almost 400 cals. So hopefully i'm making a dent in my energy sttores(aka FAT) LOL

    YESSS! I definitely stay away from fast food because I can eat so much MORE when I eat healthy foods! I'm all about quantity. I love the feel of a huge bowl of salad in front of me more than having a 1/4 of a cheeseburger or something. Good for you keeping in your calorie ranges despite the junk food at work! Keep up the great work!!!

    "I'm tired of explaining myself!" I agree. I am learning all you can do is be true to yourself - and bump the rest! Bump it. I am reading way too much into this statement. LOL.

Anyway, I am happy you are figuring ways to make it happen with all the fast food around. That is a feat - for sure.

I took my test on Friday and think it went well though it was very difficult... I went to a school Ball on Friday night.. thought I was going to have a break down because I couldn't find a dress in my closet that fit, but decided it would be more useful to just buy a dress... so I did and it was gorgeous! :-D I looked nice, if I do say so myself. I'll put up a pic. (It should be above!)

Saturday was my sisters birthday, the familiy got together had lots of fun and celebrated my sis's birthday! :-) I was forced to buy a coach purse that was on sale... I really don't like spending money lol!! But it is a nice purse and I think I'm going to love it!

Sunday... I'm trying to move so been doing a lot to get that together... I feel like the ppl are trying to swindle me. I sure hope not... but I'm going to keep my eyes open and will possibly consider moving somewhere else if things don't start looking more legitimate.

Monday: Started a new section in Family Medicine. I like it so far! Have been reading You on a diet. Also going to start a no sugar month. (though I don't like a lot of sugar or candy... I feel like I'm using too much sweetner in my coffee... so I need to remove the sweets from my life.) I do have a piece of cake from my sister's bday that I AM going to eat sometime soon. Oh, and I will still eat fruits (natural sugar).

I'm hoping for a good loss... 8-10 lbs/month until my goal. Going to keep cleaning up my diet until I reach my goal!

Oh AND I just got finished doing an hour of cardio! Doing Jari Love weight training in the a.m.

    I am doing good not eating sweets. I had to totally give up coffee and tea because I had to add Splenda. Other than that, I eat a lot of natural sweets like fruit, so I don't miss the cookies, cake and candy junk. I make an icecream like treat for the kids with frozen fruit in the blender. Believe me, you won't miss the real thing!

    Nice pic you look great. It seems like a lot of swindlers are on the prowl lately especially since the economy is in the tank.

I try to limit my sugar too. I still eat dark chocolate and ice cream.When I want pastries I make them myself so that I can control whats in them. Coffee I usually just use cream or add sugar free hot chocolate, no juice or soda, and I drink unsweetened tea. Once you wane yourself off sugar you start to dislike it. I can't stand sweets they taste gross now.

Test in the a.m. doing lots of practice questions.

Went on a run as soon as I got off work so that I could get it in... and not take a nap. (2.5 miles OUTDOORS woohooo felt good to get fresh air! Took the pup with me!) Gotta Go! bye

16-17/30: Rules for success

Bare with me. It's test week. I'm going to re-post my rules! I read them today and recommitted myself!

GONABFIT's Random Tips for success:
*These are really to remind me of what I am going to do to succeed!!! *
1. There is more than one way to judge success- I have not lost much weight. I am not at my goal... yet! BUT you know what there is more than one way to judge success! If you isolate your goal to only the scale you are sooooo likely to give up when you don't see the changes you want. If it takes me two years to reach my goal, will victory be any less sweet!? NOT IN MY OPINION! I will enjoy my goal weight WHENEVER I get it. and I will continue to work hard.
2. Focus more on your blessings than your disapointments- If you focus on the good in your life you will likely stay encouraged to keep going. Nothing good comes from focusing on negative things. Live, Learn, and move on!
3. Every decision brings you closer to or further from your goals- There is no single event that will bring you to your ultimate goal... so I am going to focus on each choice. Sleeping 8 hours brings me closer, pulling an all nighter leads me further from my goals. you get the point... :-)
4. Fiber, Fiber, Fiber- How can you ever lose weight if you never.... um.... get rid of waste. Enough said. LOL. Oh and also fiber helps weight loss. 25-35 grams.
5. Water it... and it will grow! - LOL seriously I have recently been drinking as much water as possible. The more water you drink the less you will eat to satisfy what is actually thirst.
6. Eat when you are hungry. Stop when you are satisfied... NOT FULL- I followed this rule 2 years ago and I seriously lost weight because I was not eating just because it was there. If I got hungry in 2 hours I ate. If I got hungry in 4 hours and started eating and quickly got full... I stopped eating.
7. IT IS NOT THE LAST SUPPER!!! - Seriously, sometimes we must remind ourselves that if you get "satisfied" in the middle of a meal, it is ok to STOP EATING!!!! It will be there when you get hungry again. And if someone is stealing your food.... hide it! lol!
8. SLEEP- the last time I lost weight and was really healthy I slept 7-8 hours a night. When you sleep your cortisol lowers, less stress hormone, less belly fat. You've seen the commercials! LOL- oh and I've oversimplified this. but these are the "rules" I'm going to use. :-D
9. Cardio + weights + flexibility- I am going to exercise WHENEVER I can. If it's a few squats while I am studying so be it. If its a 5 mile run while listening to a lecture... GREAT! I will do my best and then let it go. No point in focusing on how much more you could have done. Do your best and be done!
10. Believe, Act, Receive, a.k.a. You've got to see it, before you see it or you never will SEE it! - If you have no goal or can't even imagine how you will acheive your goal it is less likely that you will achieve it. BELIEVE you can do it, ACT- sometimes you have to step out in faith. even if you feel that you are too tired or busy to do another workout... workout anyway. because sometimes you have to do it whether you want to or not!, Receive it- If you refuse to give up you WILL eventually reach your goal!
11. Walk by faith not by sight- again... I trust God that the things I do are not in Vain. Every workout, ounce of sweat, tears, etc are bringing me that much closer to my goal. I have FAITH that my body is conspiring FOR me and that when I least expect it, my body will finally MELT the pounds off. and when that happens I will be SOOO proud that I kept the faith.
12. Exercise Early and often! The earlier the less likely I will get busy and feel that it is a burden :-D Because I actually LOVE workinf out... Endorphins are addictive!!!!
13. Never say negative things about yourself- YOUR BRAIN IS LISTENING!! ... and it believes everything it hears. So please, say nice things. you say you are a failure... and yes, you are a failure. You say, I am full of energy and I CAN finish this workout, eat healthy.... whatever, and watch how quickly your body listens to what you say!
14. ~*~There is no tomorrow~*~ Do it now, today, as soon as possible. You'd be surprised how quickly a day, week, month, year can slip by. You don't want the next 6 weeks to get here before tomorrow does... so If you want to eat healthy// workout/ relax/ pray/ write in your journal..... start right now, where you are. It's never too late to get started... :-) The time is NOW!
15.Love yourself now, forever, and always- We get one shot at life and I would hate to look back and realize that I've spent most of my life disliking the one constant person in my life! :-) You are beautiful, you are unique, and YOU DESERVE HAPPINESS. Deep deep happiness. Pure Joy that makes you look forward to each day

*Bonus*- I will never never never never give up! AND I am going to enjoy this journey and learn as much as possible from every struggle!

Day 15/30: Made it HAPPEN!

So I drew the line yesterday AND was able to stick to my goals!

I ate healthy all day and have stuck to my calorie range (1300-1600 )1395 cals! I ate fish broccoli and baked potato for dinner, I have been studying all day and I will take a break to work out eventually!

But the best part is that I DREW the line yesterday and was able to get back on track! And THAT'S WHAT COUNTS! So, let's make it happen everyone! Forget your mistakes, failures, sadness whatever... just BLOOM WHERE YOU ARE PLANTED and make the most of whatever situation you are in now!

Gotta go study! [p.s. I'm 1/2 way through with this daily blogging! :-) ]

    I love that saying. I bought a coffee mug for a friend who was moving the other day that said bloom where you are planted. This is something I need to take to heart too because sometimes I long to be somewhere else than i am and need to count the blessings today and release the past and count the good in each day and what i did that added to my life than focus on the wrong and mistakes. I bought a journal today that I am going to write 5 things in daily that I am thankful for and never repeat the same one. Good luck and thank you for the reminder of blooming where you are planted.
