**in a rush so typing fast! lol*
Life is going well! :-D My hip is feeling better, I have been able to run a few times this week! :-) I will get an MRI in 2 weeks but I think I've been healed! LOL

I weigh b/t 143-145 everday YAY! go me. Had a few days of unnecessary bad foods but am recognizing that I do NOT want to sabbotage myself so I am refocusing. Going to ATL (home) this weekend will try to eat healthy most meals but have fun too.

I PASSED that exam I studied so hard for. THANK GOD!

I am making grilled shrimp, grilled chicken, broccoli, and baked fries for dinner. Big meal... but better than the CHICKFILA I was headed out the door to get instead! :-) Making small changes... WILL MAKE IT HAPPEN!

Let's Get it. Final Grind for 09!!!! WOOOOOHOOOOOO

Gosh, that hip has stuck around as an issue, hasnt it? I hope you can get some good instruction on how to care for it so it doesn't remain a chronic issue.

So glad you are on track. I always enjoy the "matter of fact/this is how its going to be" way that you write! You go, girl! Keep it up!

Sorry I didn't notice your blog before I asked you about your hip! That is great news you feel like it has pretty much healed! I bet what you made at home was way better then Chickfila! Keep hanging in there and fight the good fight everyday! You have tons of energy and it will push you far! I don't remember but what is your goal for the final grind? I am going to shoot for 120! Best Wishes!

You ready!? I'm starting my NO MORE RESOLUTIONS challenge tomorrow!

Friday, October 23, 2009

Hey everyone!

Just letting you know that I'm still on for my end of the year challenge! lol... I dislocated my hip last Sunday and it still hurts (and feels like it's not in the socket. PLUs I have weakness over there) so I'm going to try and get to the doctor soon... BUT I'm going to start slow and do what I can. Because NO EXCUSES and I can still walk :-D

The NO MORE RESOLUTIONS challenge is meant to encourage me to use these last 6 weeks to stay focused and get in the 130's by the end of the year! I can do it. I want to achieve as many goals as I can so that I don't have to start 2010 thinking... what did I do with the last 12 months (though I CAN happily say I've achieved many of my goals!)

Cardio: 5-6 days a week
Strength: 3-4 days a week
Yoga: 10 mins daily OR one long session a week

water: 64 oz at least
Food: Eat "Clean" - which for me means to cook my food in bulk twice a week, by fruits & veggies and eat them, and limit fast/fried foods
Sleep" 7 hours a night. REQUIRED (or as many as possible since I can't control my hospital schedule this year!

Edit to Add: I am challenging myself to increase the yoga to 40 min/day. I will do my yoga routine before bed each night or in the a.m. depending on my schedule.

I'm using Beck diet principles to remind me WHY all this is important and have something to show at the end of the year! NOW it's time to MAKE IT HAPPEN!!! YAY GO ME!

I'll keep you all updated! Watch me Work! :-D

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

----------
And of course, I'm looking for spark buddies who would like to join in! But I'm still going to do the challenge if I can't find anyone! LOL! Feel free to check in on me though!!

I'm with you!! I lost a couple pounds over the holidays last year and it felt so GOOD to start the new year lighter, instead of adding a weight loss resolution to make up for over-indulging. It really was awesome and I would love to do it again!!

You are quite the inspiration for us all but I'm worried about that hip! Please be careful and get to a Dr soon before you cause further damage! Besides, you don't want to be in pain all the time!

I love you attitude and your goals! You will do it because you have determined to do it and that is the most important goal met!

Make sure you take it slow so you won't cause more damage to your hip area...you've accomplished a lot this year and regardless of what happens going forward, be proud of that!!!

I know you'll do your best though!!!!

Enjoy your weekend!!!

Ouch that hip sounds painful! Take care of it and keep doing what you can without re-injuring it. I was hoping to hit the 130's by Jan but don't think it is going to happen. Good luck with your challenge.

I'm cheering you on! I wonder if you haven't slipped a hip/pelvic girdle joint rather than an entire hip? Maybe your doc can send you to a physical therapist to work with so you don't reinforce the out-of-place state with your continued exercise and cause a bigger problem (been there/done that/still wearing the tee-shirt).
I love your firm goal definitions and cheer you through! You will do this! I can't join you with my back's condition right now, but I do what I can and also eat clean and drink from the fountain of cool, clear water! I'll check back in on you. You GO, Yoga Poser Girl!

I want to join you. I am so excited because that is a goal of mine to get to 130's by the end of the year. I am currently @ 151.4. I was just thinking can I do this as there are 2 major holidays coming up.

End of the year Challenge: October 24- December 31

Tuesday, October 13, 2009

Pretty long span of time but come December 31, I plan to look in the mirror and see JUST HOW much I have accomplished in 2009!!

I will get the details together and post them here to rtemind me of my challenge goals but I am stable in the 140s and moving to the 130s! hopefully before the end of my current challenge! :-D

I am also cranking up my weight lifting for the next 2-3 months. I have weight lifting gloves from when I used to lift regularly... I like doing strength training (without weights) too BUT I realllllllyyyyy like it when I pick up weights and can SEE that I am getting stronger. Plus my body responds quickly when I lift. So BRING ON THE CHANGES! BRING ON THE SUCCESS!!

Oh how funny! Me too! I kicked myself in the butt on Oct 22nd and my goal for myself is to lose the rest of the weight by Dec 31st. I know a lot of people who are aiming for Dec 31st too.

Good luck on your goals!

Good luck with your other goals...

Say WHAAAAAT!? I ran HOW fast!? :-D

Sunday, October 04, 2009

Good Morning!

My BABY King Cesar! ( He has a real name.. but it's toooo long to write. LOL!

So I'm beginning to RESPECT the fact that I am a morning person!

Woke up at 5:20 a.m. (todday is Sunday) even though I didn't get a lot of sleep (though I usually try to get at least 7 hours). My goal today is to BE PRODUCTIVE. and so far so good!

I RAN 5 miles in 41 mins 44 seconds! WOW! I have been working on running faster and YAY! I remember the days I was working to get my 5 miles under one hour. God is Good! I actually did 5.5 miles this morning in less than an hour (49 mins to be exact!) I walked the last 1/2 mile to cool down and give my doggy a chance to sniff things ! :-D

Pictures of ME this a.m. after Run

I also have already eaten breakfast and started studying!

The plan for today is
Study from 8:30- 9:45 a.m.
Church 10-12?
Take Cesar out
Study 12:30 - Library close (or 8:00 p.m.)

Pack lunch and snacks

OH and I weighed in at 146 this a.m.

SUCCESS

  That's a great workout.

Do you think that you are getting closer to your 7 minute mile goal? That 49 minutes this morning on those 5.5 miles brings you to about an average 9 minute mile? What do you think could do JUST ONE MILE now - 7 1/2 minutes?
